A bill that mandates a sentence of up to life in prison for converting marijuana or marijuana oil into hashish is heading to Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin's (R) desk after being passed by the state Legislature on Monday.

House Bill 1798 makes the conviction of a first time offense of manufacturing hashish a felony with a prison mandatory minimum sentence of two years and a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Hashish is made by compressing and heating glandular hairs from marijuana plants known as "kief." Chemical solvents can also be used to extract the psychoactive components of the marijuana plant, resulting in hash oil.

Under a second offense, sentences would be doubled and those convicted would be unable to receive a suspended sentence or probation.

Bull fucking shit

In other news, authorities decided that anyone saying something that they didn't like, or threatening the economic viability of any major player in the game, will be sentenced to a bloodletting, for a first offense, and have their nose, ear, hand, foot, or head removed (in that order).

Holy shit thats insane. Big medical companies dont like hash oil for its medical value? Only explanation that makes any sense in my head :p

Allllright so this is just like a hardcore concentrated dose of THC?

Whats the difference between this and smoking a bunch of dank? Besides the fact it takes you alot less to get stoned on the hash oil.

Ive never had the pleasure trying this stuff...sounds like a nice convenient way to dose ha.

I hate living in the bible-belt, they just made chillums illegal. What next? Seive-grinders?

uhh.. marijuana oil is hash?

terrible law.

I have a vision in my head of a scenario in the not too distant future in Oklahoma State Prison:

Convict 1: What did you do to get in here?
Convict 2: I killed my wife with a coat hanger because she didn't wash the dishes, you?
Convict 1: I shot 12 cops in the face with a Barret .50 cal, hey new guy, what did you do?
Convict 3: I put a bunch of flowers in a press....

^So true. Our drug laws are so fucked in Oklahoma (and everywhere else). This extreme reminds me of the part in Junkie where Burroughs is saying it became illegal to be a drug addict and if they saw tracks on you that you could be thrown in jail. I could see this becoming quite popular there. Especially with the ultra conservative politicians that keep getting elected.

Just another blatant affront to personal liberty and pragmatic governing that no one seems to care about. It's sad but not surprising.

Ironically enough, the Oklahoma senate also voted 43-3 to approve a bill to reduce the prison population by letting low risk offenders be on ankle monitors or in community sentencing programs. Bit of a contradiction. Oh, also a democratic senator from Oklahoma City issued an apology because he "accidentally" voted for this crazy harsh law, said he wasn't paying attention. Apparently he left the floor, came back and didn't know which bill he was voting for. Come the fuck on.

I mean, in all honesty, Oklahoma just looks kind of stupid in that most recent marijuana legislation has been positive. Of course, not where we'd all like it to be but it definitely seems to be headed in the right direction. We have almost 1 in every 3 states with a mmj program. It just seems kind of random to me.

They also have 3.2% alcohol beer which is fucking water basically so not much in Oklahoma makes much of any sense at all believe me its terrible but at least they have plenty of Indian Casinos.

^yeah, or id be a goner.
ive only got a little left, to help me not want to puke all day, and help my body not feel like a fiery balloon.

the more i sit here looking at this,,,, omg.

this will reverberate- and i only hope they or their loved ones never have to need the stuff, or feel this way in their lives for the rest of their lives, even freee and wealthy...

this is insane, i mean it is senseless(BS), draining such essence and painting a picture for their own sake... i dont believe it, this is only a precursor.

i would urge people to not vote to legalize marijuana - not at this time.
my god

what are they, reimbursing any monies lost over convictions on a federal level lost to mmj, and now implying and applying this outrageous law to make up for it?

Oklahoman here, born and raised (and escaped as soon as my grad cap hit the floor)...

This is no surprise. Having one seed or stem in your ashtray can get you locked up for YEARS, meanwhile meth labs, drunk driving and alcohol-induced violence are largely ignored by police who are too scared or lazy to deal with "real criminals". The weed in OK is S-H-I-T anyway, which is why I quit smoking altogether for the last year or so before leaving. Just not worth it.

Oh, and Mary Fallin is a neo-cunt whore with a secret lesbian past. Consider the bill passed.

This is a little too much like the discrimination between crack and powdered cocaine laws that were adjusted because they were basically prejudiced as caucasians generally used powder and African Americans use crack.

SHH! Don't make posts like that! There are some of 'those' people that read these threads....you know who I mean...(the darkies...)8)

It's so true though, the government always seems to find a way to imprison minorities by putting them in impossible situations, espically black people.

on my planet, a mutt that could be held responsible for a piece of legislation that causes so much misery, would be promptly led out, in chains and horse fucked .
we are all progressives here . earth must blow.
