Matter infact what do i do?????????????[/SIZEs

If she has insurance have her get on subs and share them with you. Docs almost always over prescribe doses. And taper off dope that way.

Or get some subs off the street, if your that deep in the game you should know someone that sells them. Use them to taper off dope.

Go to the doctor, get tested. Hep C and HIV are common among injecting drug users. Hep C does not have to be transmitted by sharing a needle but by the fact that if you all share a spoon/water/cookers/containers for liquid to clean out a needle so as to reuse it/etc - the Hep C virus will linger in these places. For a long time.

If you only re-use your own needles this can quickly become a problem - sharing the same water to clean out a needle for re-use is bad.

Bleach can kill HIV but it may not kill the Hep C virus.

Not enough injecting drug users are aware of how easily Hep C can spread.

Let's say someone uses a spoon for preparing shots and cleaning out used needles - they have gotten blood, any visible or invisible quantity - in it at some point in the last few days. Then you see they have left something in the spoon - assume it's OK to use the leftovers - this is a bad practice because it will have yielded a high percentage likelihood of infection.

When injecting around others - everyone needs to be aware what is theirs and what is not - to only use your own cooker, cottons, water, and so on - don't share any injection equipment!

If you have gone to the needle exchange - and have 2 clean needles - 2 clean cottons - 2 clean cookers - and everyone uses their own, and once the needle has gotten blood in it, after injecting, they simply cap the needle and put it in a biohazard container - this is all you have to do.

Reusing a needle is bad because it's hell on your veins and it leaves any viruses you may have in your system in whatever places the blood goes - such as a spoon, used cooker, etc.

I hope I haven't alarmed you - but I feel that not enough people know this.

I had no insurance either but I found a government assisted rehab that paid for my detox and everything. There is also a Dr there that perscibes Subs under the same government insurance. It's different then Medicaid though There are a few in Dallas, TX although I don't know where you're from. Although you could try to get on Medicaid too. The hardest part isn't detoxing though...it's changing everything in your life to ensure a clean life style. I've found that 12 step programs (Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous) are imperitive to become active in to ensure ongoing clean living. It's a mother fucker being an addict...I know this... but there is a solution out there... You just gotta really want it! Good luck!

King, are you in the States? There are many options for those who don't have insurance or loot to get into treatment. I'm unfamiliar with any of the processes outside of the US but if you are comfortable with providing your general geographic location your question would be easier to answer

Yes precisely as OD said in the states there are many options for people w/out insurance to get treatment.
For NJ (which is jampacked with heroin addicts) go to http://samsdev.rutgers.edu/dastxdirectory/txdirmain.htm

and click on where you are in the state. You can find a ton of free programs if you just do a bit of research.
For other states I'd just googe the state + "addiction services". I'll likely be doing one myself in another month when I finish this internship because theres no way I plan on looking for careers while I'm still addicted to opiates. I can barely even hold this intership down but I somehow manage.

In pa they have a law where u can buy boxes of needle's 100 in the box and they range from 15$ to 25$ depending on the brand. so we dont shar needles at all acualy we use a new needle every shot also we each have our own spoons also we do try and be as clean as posssible. Its not like were on the streets scrounging for or hookup or trying to find a needle extange. so we do try and be as clean as possible that way. our piece of shit dealer( who use to be a addicit him self wakes up everyday and takes his methodne, how could he go through what we are going through then put some one else though it? Thats why i call him a peice of shit. No money inthe world is worth it to me!!!) I would not wish this on my worst enemy...

On to the suboxin thing we tryed that i dont know if we were taking them wrong or something but we will never be touching them things again. I have 10000 in the bank give our take id give it all up to be clean. so any ideaas besides the suboxin?

Well, in the event things change, this is the process you can take to get county funding. You have minimal interaction with the state and they don't even really look at your application.

in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Jersey there is a company/service that gets people into rehab who don't have money/insurance.

Since you are in PA, as am I, this is exactly what you can do:

  1. Go to the local Social Security Office (FOUND HERE)
  2. Fill out forms for Medical Assistance (you can also apply for food stamps and housing assistance) or you can APPLY ONLINE HERE
  3. Indicate on the form and to the person at the desk that you require a rejection letter and that you will wait for it (I was told to write 'REJECTION LETTER' at the very top of my application so they could just reject me without looking at it)
Get there as soon as they open so you aren't waiting for 4 or 5 hours
  4. A case worker reviews your info and will provide the rejection letter that day or they can mail it to you
  5. Take the rejection letter to Gaudenzia (they place folks into facilities and offer after care programs on the county's dime
  6. They will tell you to be there at 9am on a certain day (typically two or three days from initial consult) with your bags packed and they will send you to the first place that has an open bed. Among these are Mirmont, Livengrin, Eagleville Medical Hospital (which is a shithole), White Deer Run, Valley Forge Medical Center, Clearbrook and many, many others

Gaudenzia can get you into a facility that very same day if you are truly fucked.

Basically, you get rejected by the state for assistance and then the county steps in and funds your treatment.

Have you considered Ibogane treatment? While its illegal in the USA I believe its legal in Mexico.

Have you tried detox/rehab in the past?

If a "home remedy" is the way I'd load up on as much xanax and lyrica as you can and just grin and bear it, it won't be that horrendous if you can get some decent nonopiate meds to treat the wds. Its always best to try and taper down a bit first though if you can as it makes the transition to sobriety that less difficult. Its not impossible though by any means and people get clean w/out detox everyday.

And overdone could I use that process in NJ for an intensive outpatient program if I have no health insurance? Or is it just impatient? Thanks.

Use Captain.Heroin's advice please. Get on suboxone somehow. If you are going to stay clean, as well as your wife and roomate YOU ALL need to be clean and supportive for eachother. You CANT be clean if you live with another person that is doing it while your recovering. It just wont happen. Get on suboxone or methadone SOMEHOW. Possibly move out with your wife if your roomate isnt willing to get clean, or kick them out. You cant have an anchor of a friend or person dragging you down with them.

also if the reason u cant take funding from the state is some criminal record or stuff like that, possibly have ur wife or friend order online Kratom for you to get off of opiates. There are many threads on this site about Kratom and how useful it can be to get off of opiates
