when i take vyvanse recreationally ill take around 90-100mg. ive taken it as early as 7am and i will still get insomnia and not be able sleep for about 30 hours after ive taken it. after around 12 hours of taking it i feel like crap. i feel very tired(yet cannot sleep), headache, which is easily curabe, and just sick feeling. also i usually have to force myself to talk to people because i dont want to talk. what ive read for most people vyvanse hardly has a comedown. whys it so bad for me? and how can i make it more bearable? also i should probably mention i pick one day of the week to take it then wait 7 or more days to take it again so i keep my tolerance low. could that factor into the rough comedowns? if i took it more often would it be easier?

i hope this question didnt break any rules and i hope this is the right section. let me know if theres any problems with this question. thank you:)

looks like amp has lost its magic for you. After awhile the comedown becomes less and less worth it in regards to the actual high

Because it's a prodrug it has to be metabolized through the liver, the slower your metabolism, the longer the experience. I would try lower doses.
As for the social awkwardness, sometimes it makes people more introverted, i would again attribute it to the dose.

100 mg is massive as hell. I've taken that much and while it was awesome, anything short of xanax would not have allowed me to pass out that night.

I also had the same experience with Vyvanse© at that dosage, I found it to be similar in action to the Adderall© albeit smoother, but not as potent. Perhaps that was due to the L-lysine portion of the prodrug lisdexfetamine, or perhaps it was the fact that Adderall has the levo-enantiomer of the amp molecule, thus making it a bit harsher. It just sounds like you are having common issues that are often associated with amphetamines, and should probably lower the dosage. I may have read your post incorrectly, but if this is something you are taking for the treatment of ADD or SSRI resistant depression the side effects will pass with time, and proper dose management.

Amps deplete your serotonin after use. The higher the dosage/longer you use them the worse this can get. Sometimes I get really depressed after amps and sometimes I don't. Personally, smoking bud helps me with this issue

I know amphetamines effect the serotonin receptors but with regular amphetamines it doesn't by much so I don't think that would be the cause considering the depletion is little (could be wrong). Although with methamphetamine, it does effect serotonin significantly. It would be more likely the depletion of dopamine that causes this because, while dopamine effects your reward center, you lose the interest to talk with people because there is nothing you get out of it.

As others have said you should decrease your dose, at least to 50-70mg. I was prescribed 70mg which is equivalent to 30mg of Adderall. If you need less Adderall then that then go with 50mg.

Depression is a common when coming down from amphetamines. So is fatigue and the loss of interest in things.

wow you guys really nailded it lol. im glad this is atleast a common thing. losing interest when coming down is the perfect way to describe how i feel and it makes plenty of sense because of the dopamine depletion. you all seem to agree that lowering my dose is the best option so that is what i will do. thanks very much to all the answers

Yeah my bad, dopamine depletion would make more sense. But for example somebody who takes high doses of dextroamp recreationally for an extended period of time and then were to stop would they have serotonin depletion somewhat similar to methamphetamine users ?

100mg is too strong. lower the dose.

amphetamines primarily affect dopamine, however serotonin and norepinephrine are also significantly affected because these three neurotransmitters share some of the same transporters.

the best way to fight the come down is to eat food. force it down if you have to. it's hard, but it makes a world of difference.
