My hair is actually almost arse-length - the longest bits anyway. It's mostly always tied back (bordering on becoming a bun now cos I don't like pony tails) and often surprises me when it tickles me kidneys if I sit up in bed or summat.

Effie: Have a school photo from the hedgehog era and I must admit I was quite a cutesy lil scamp of a boy at the time and given the late 80s date it could certainly have been much worse. I vaguely recall being very keen to grow "rat tails" for a while around that time. Mother wouldn't let me thankfully.
 
i have the same. i actually got a really good style once when i smashed my elbow. if you explain to the stylist you can't lift your arm so can't style your hair at all, and they're a decent stylist, you get a decent maintanence free style! the boyf usually just gets his sister to cut it. he tried shaving it once but with his complexion and bone structure it made him look like a nazi punk.

Paying an extra few bucks for a good stylist is a must in my opinion.

One of my pals once went to a barbers to have his mid length hair cut and had it massacred. It was like someone put a box over his head and cut around the edges. Fuck that, you have to walk around with it for the next few months.

I had always been the one getting slagged for paying an extra few quid to go to a decent stylist until that incident.

I reckon shaving it all off would just accentuate my Roman nose =D
 
So hard to find a good stylist even if you are paying a bit extra. Meanwhile, I am in need of a good colourist, something even rarer it seems. Since professional hair dying costs such a tonne I know I have to find someone good, but not seen anyone recently with a nice looking dye job. Maybe that's the key to a nice one, not really being able to tell! /rant
 
Lol @ the haircut chat. I honestly cannot remember the last time I was in a hairdressers/barbers but it was years ago. My habit for the past few years has been to let it grow pretty long (like, shoulder length at the back) then shave it all off & repeat the cycle until it gets too long again. Got my maw to cut it a while back haha, just tied it all up into a wee pony tail type thing on the top of my head then chopped that off, tidied up the rest of it & it wasn't too bad tbh. It's getting a bit long again & needs cut, I'm tempted to shave it right off again but I always regret it. I like having long hair so I can shake it about like a wet dog every morning after a shower lol. I was doing that after the gig on Saturday because it was soaked with sweat/beer, I don't think too many people round about me were amused haha!

Sensu need to calm down with their quality bookings. My bank balance/braincells can't handle it. They had Raresh this month (which I missed :(), Ricardo Villalobos next month (ticket bought %)) & now Loco Dice for April (definitely going).

Last pic I seen of you Wibz you were looking gorgeous blonde n' savy - are you still blonde or back to doing lovely pinks n' whatnot?

I spend far too much money on my hair, just to keep it looking long n' natural. To be fair to my hairdresser who I practically stalk, it's flexible enough to do for work all neat and sensible like or a mess of tangled curls for err...fun time :D

A lady of my age does not discuss the need for colour just the desire not to be aged n' grey haha

I've never heard it called a "long bob" before but have never had any complaints either, Kate ;)

In other Shampix news, was wondering a while back if you kept that pic you had of me off me nut on rather a lot of MDMA and looking about 5. It's one of the very few pics of me I actually rather like but don't think I have it any more. Nor any others.

Including the one of me with the hedgehog, Sadie. Pics of me as a nipper would be in mother dearest's photo albums. I actually was a rather cute kiddy believe it or not. My mother was once stopped in the street by someone who made adverts for Pampers nappies wanting to use me in their next ad (was rather young at the time - not one of those adult baby types ;)). She said no though. I coulda binna star I tells ya :!

Or the Pampers peep may have just been a proactive paedophile.

Alas those pics were on my old laptop hard drive that died tragically :( The long bobby one I mentioned, I think came from your media / art student days? Very stylish pic it was. I can still visualise perfectly that mdma one, cracking pic of a very blissed out man =D

If I had them I'd send them to you...very rare pics, sure they'd be worth some stash on the BL market ;)
 
Ha! Black market Shampix are shite - cut to fuck so you'd be lucky to get 5% purity.

Will live without me pic. Probably still got it somewhere cos I'm sure it was on a CD. Probably scratched to buggery though. I was rather smiley in that one which makes it stand out from the usual camera-dodging moodiness of those "arty" era ones. Which I actually do still have I think.

I also still have a pic of your good self that I bet you forgot you sent me. Rather red in the cheeks, as I recall. I suspect some drugs were involved somewhere along the line too. Wasted pics ftw. Better than moody ones anyday.

I've yet to have the pleasure of subjecting Kate to my camera.

But I've got a few of our dear shammy. Not many because I can only ever catch him by surprise and the expression is either bemused or confused. Perhaps a combination of both.

Kate: Thinking of just going back to my natural colour to try and convince it to grow a bit more. The blond is ok, but is a lot of effort considering I'd actually rather just have pink or yellow or some other mad colour for my hair, but alas I cannot. However, my hair is so bleached I don't trust putting a bottle of shop bought dye over it.
