can't remember
Ok, i've been going through some serious depression due to my X binge about 4 months ago. I've been having some serious side effects, mainly memory, intellectual skills etc.. that have forced me to drop out of uni..

So i've proposed a combination of events that I plan on following for 3 months to see if it yeilds success..

1) Going to 3 months of neurofeedback (appx 40-60 sessions) for opitmal brain training to eleviate some of the depression adn regain some cognitive power.
2) Work 9-5 everyday in a new physical labour job.
3) Run 30 mins everyday after work in the cold outside (its winter) and bodybuilding after my run, to give me a more enhanced serotonin system and induce neurogenesis
4) Followed by a strict diet of ALL heathly foods, chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables every day, with NO junk what so ever.
5) No drinking/quitting smoking cigs (dont smoke weed)
6) Pick up reading/playing Dual N Back
7) To top it all off, i'm going on a Nootropic stack consisting of many herbs and fish oils to giv me optimal brain performance/induce neurogenesis

So people, what do you think of this regimen for 3 months with relentless effort.. Do you think its a recipe for success to get a full brain recovery from the serve depression and problems ive encoutnered since abusing MDMA? as well as to prepare me to return and finish my university?

Give me your thoughts and any possible suggestions (particularly when it comes to using Neurofeedback for some of these drug induced problems i.e. do you think neurofeedback would help/be benefical?), i'm very dedicated to not turn out like some of the people here that propose they've never got over their MDMA problems..

I would just add to take it easy sometimes and let yourself have some fun, whatever that is for you. Fun and laughter are good for mental health :)

Just cut back the e man, your brain will recover over time, maybe not fully, but it will recover over time. Give yourself the opportunity to roll like maybe once or twice a year or once every 3-4 months. Binging e is always a bad idea.

I think doing those brain exercises will be good for you, but go at it with patience. If you expect things to happen fast then you're only going to be disappointed. Best of luck to you man and if you take anything from this experience, learn self-control and moderation because that's all it takes to have a great time without hurting yourself.

I think all of your ideas are good, although a bit idealistic and hard on yourself. I don't know your current lifestyle, but if you commit to a drastic lifestyle change in nearly every respect you run a fairly high chance of "New Year's Resolution" syndrome in which you burn out quite quickly which may bring you down, especially if you are dealing with depression.

I'm sure you know best what you need to do, but just remember that more isn't always better. It seems to me that in nearly every category you could have a bit more balance with a different mindset that will yield the same results. Certainly you can always push yourself farther and harder, but at some point you lose the marginal benefit and it just becomes wasted energy.

The one area where I think you're on the right track for sure is that if you are dealing with depression, then a routine that involves physical activity is a must - even if that activity is not strenuous.

For what it's worth, I got over my problems with E and feel as good as new, even after a long history with high doses. I highly suspect that if the real truth were known, people who say they never recovered from E have a variety of other significant factors at play. I don't know tonnes of E users, but everyone I do know that used at levels anywhere from mild to wild has gone on to lead a happy, normal life with no ill long-term effects.

I am pretty sure that if you stay away from the MDMA, engage in physical exercise and keep yourself busy, you should feel a lot better in 2-3 months.

^Two great bits of advice - you don’t need a punishing regime to start feeling better.

Sometimes you can go overboard with these things and you just get fed up and stop - if you take smaller steps then you’re more likely to stick with it for longer.

Take a break from the drugs / drink - eat well, get some exercise to help with the depression and make you feel good about yourself and have fun.
