Tripping at work

anyone ever try it?

Im considering taking some 2c-e this afternoon. I work in 8 hours. The first hour of work im around a lot of coworkers (kitchen) and after that everyone leaves and its me and one other dude who did a lot of drugs back in his day. I have maybe an hour or two of work once everyone is gone. its an 8 hour shift. I can keep my shit together on psychedelics but I do have an anxiety disorder.

Just wanted some opinions.

Oh i probably should have said i will be cleaning. Just me my coworker and the foreign floor guy. Its a huge store. Past the first hour everyone is gone.
I like the idea of waiting to dose. It takes 2 hours for 2c-e to kick in. I could just drop it when i get there. That way I wouldnt have a lot of people that could throw my trip off. I should also say, the company i work for honestly is probably top 100 for most weed smokers in the workplace in the usa lol. Lots of hippies and stoners. Both my bosses smoke. And the chef. And my coworker lol

I would save it for another day. You never know how a trip will turn out and knowing that you have to go to work afterward may be bothersome during the experience. And if you are anxiety-prone then this may also manifest itself when you go into work still feeling the effects. Of course it may turn out fine, but it just doesn't seem like an optimal situation.

Horrible idea, so many things that could go wrong that are too numerous and obvious to bother listing here.

Unless you're a student or something whose parents take care of most of your expenses and this job is just a way to earn drinking money on the weekends, then I'd still say its a bad idea but at least you wouldn't be risking much.

When I was a younger, more reckless student at university and in the prime of my drug taking years I was very careless about doing drugs at work, and I lost one of my jobs because of it. Turns out your boss can only take having you nod out on top of the retail shelf while attempting to fold clothes so many times before it becomes a problem, who would've thought.

i use to take low doses of acid before going into work.. like a quarter or a third of a hit of some pretty good blotter. it definitely kept things interesting.. but i cant really comment on 2ce as i've never tried it.

I've personally tripped at an old job I had, but the circumstances were entirely different. You're going to be working in a kitchen surrounded by people and having to cook food I'm assuming and, follow orders.

The only time I've reaaally tripped at work was when I did asbestos air monitoring for my dad's company; except this particular job was outdoors, several warehouses were being demolished, and I didn't really even need to do the air monitoring. We were in a HUGE sealed off area just surrounded by looooads of forest and a gigantic gate sealing everyone off. I was stuck in a small booth veeeery far away from the demo site, updating paperwork every 2~ hours and besides that wandering around and enjoying the scenery.

Amanita muscaria, DXM, LSA and of course mad bowl hits of weed kept me entertained for the 3 weeks or so we were there and made the aforementioned enjoying of scenery completely fucking majestic. I even finished reading Nietzsche's 'Beyond Good & Evil' in one day on LSA/Amanitas. Gooood times...

However, I reiterate, circumstances are different. Unless you have nobody supervising you, you don't have to take orders or risk having to be around other people constantly I would highly advise AGAINST tripping at work. Especially in a kitchen, dude?

Say for instance, your boss' family comes in and you're tasked with cooking up the best goddamn sushi rolls in the world for them, and in your tripping state you use electric tape instead of seaweed? Then you have to confront your boss with dilated pupils darting around like a chameleon while you babble on about yellow submarines. Not good situation.

I mean, if you're still bent on tripping at work then -at the very least- dose when your other coworkers dip and you're with your drug-friendly coworker. Best option of course would be to trip after work, but do you. In the end, do what you think you can handle.

2C-E is dose sensitive; you could end up tripping much harder than you expected. Even if everything goes well, don't you think it would be more fun to trip another time?

You'd think. I can handle my 2c-e though.

If you value your job then dont goto work high.

You never know what may happen (random event) where you need to be able to think straight and act quickly.

Then why ask? You probably won't get many people here endorsing the decision regardless of that fact.
I tripped at work once(mushrooms), it didn't go poorly, but it was a little much when they threw me on a cash register :\
I wouldn't really do it anymore, seems like a bad idea to me, but maybe I've just gotten too old ;)
It's certainly your call though and I doubt anyone here would change your mind if you really wanted to do it. I'd probably pick a lighter psychedelic myself.
If you insist, just be safe, please.

where are these posts coming from ???

i revently seen posts of ppl wanting to trip @ disneyland, @ college and now work ? lke wtf surely tripping is more sacred thing to do in presence of good friends and cushty background (not work)

As i recently i have done acid last 3 weekends, the 1st 2 times were brilliant but last one (yesterday) was almost an abuse of the substance. the gods were not happy ans as a result i got heavy body load and very subtle effects

Noticed alotta ppl have been getting lsd recently i say we all start saving it up for the summer and making it mean something

It seems like you're going to do it either way. So this thread was more of an announcement. Who the heck would want to waste their trip within the constraints of a job?

I dont think theres anything wrong with wanting to trip for fun or recreation, and tripping doesn't necessarily have to be a "sacred" act, but I do agree that there is a time and place for everything and in public around straight people is not one of them.

Why on earth would anyone want to trip for a hideous mind numbing activity like cleaning a large floord? Psychedelics will just AMPLIFY THE HORRBLENESS!

Just fucking wait till you are OFF WORK and can trip in a comfortable fun nice environment at home, where you can just get up and run out or do whatever you want when the mood strikes and you you have no obligations, if you want you can (and should!) just sit there with your eyes closed listening to music voyaging inside your mind without moving.

Why the fuck would you want to trip while trapped at work, and where you are forced to be working hard at the job, and thus will be UNABLE TO REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE EFFECTS?

This is a ridiculous WASTE of your psychedelic!!!

Save it for later and you will get MUCH MORE out of it. You want to be in a situation where you have as CHOICE AND FREEDOM as possible, and "at work" is the opposite of that. And being in such a situation might quite possibly trigger a BAD TRIP, whereas doing it at homemin free time would be just the opposite.

So at the best it is a POINTLESS WASTE OF DRUG/EXPERIENCE. At worst it is a BAD TRIP.

Therefore: dont do it, just save it till later. Easy, no?

i used to do first plateau doses of DXM before going into cashiering shifts at target for the holiday season 2009. this actually enhanced my performance though, the stimulation and the mood boost helped a lot.

sometimes i would do a second plateau dose early in the morning and then go into work later that day. this was more of a detriment to my performance than an enhancement, but it wasn't too bad.

one time i did 1.5mg of DOI before going into a shift there. i'm pretty sure i did fine but hell for all i know every single customer thought i was insane. there were no immediate problems, but the anxiety wasn't worth it. i honestly have no idea how other people perceived me during that shift, and i almost always have a pretty good handle on that type of thing. very unsettling.

funny thing about that DOI experience though--when i started my break i went into the break room, and on the TV was some soap opera. the plot was about some guy getting arrested for tripping... as in physically tripping. i didn't watch it for too long (so i didn't work out all the details) but the syncronicity and the humor of it was awesome. :) the first line i heard when i walked in was something like "how can a man get in trouble for tripping over his own two feet?" and then the next several lines all had the word "tripping" in them. =D so weird!

oh, p.s. -- the main reason i ever did drugs before work was because my job was boring. over time i've found that the best drug to use for a boring work shift is caffeine. idk if you've tried drinking a couple energy drinks for your shift (one at the beginning and another a few hours in is typically what i do), but that almost always makes my nights fly by...

I may have misinterpreted, but it looked like the OP is going to be cleaning a business after hours for all but an hour or two of the trip....

With that in mind, baring that nothing crazy happens (robery, accident, etc) I dont see anything wrong with this idea, of course its a personal preference.

I do however wish to advise you that IME everytime I have tripped in a work or otherwise restricted environment I have ended up wishing I was not at work the whole time....

Granted I still enjoyed it enough to do it more than once, but I was always like

"man this would be so much better if I didnt have to talk these people through fixing their internet connections the whole time"

I love the part about the TV synchronicity!!! Shit like that is ALWAYS happening to me when I trip... and NO it's not just that I merely notice these things more... they REALLY HAPPEN MORE! I've had 10 incredibly synchronistic 99.99999% UNlikely coincidences all happen within a few hours, something I would normally never experience, and that of course I would definitely notice even totally straight... the universe seems to know you are altered and your pattern seems somehow to attract these kind of events when you are tripping, I SWEAR this is true, there is no other explanation.

And, yes, energy drinks/pills are probably the best way to make things feel easy and make monotonous time seem to fly while at work. Save the real drugs for when you can have proper fun with them without any encumbrances, or obligations or duties to worry about.

Great points HH... that's exactly it... you convince yourself its a good idea, but then you get into it and cant think about anything other than "Man I *SO* wish I was at home on the couch with my headphones on or taking a hike in the park... all this work SUCKS!"

I actually used to take slightly-higher-than-threshold doses of shrooms and LSD when I worked nights at a gas station. But that was my high school job I didn't care about, wouldn't do that now. I certainly wouldn't trip balls at work; having to do shitty boring crap (or even worse, shitty difficult crap) with a twisted head is not my idea of fun.

I really doubt anyone here is going to encourage you, as for myself all I can say is: I wouldn't. It's probably a bad idea. If you really want to do it, give'er. We can't make that decision for you. To borrow from Hunter S. Thompson, buy the ticket, take the ride. Good luck.

I love doing drugs at work or during lectures/workshops at university. Especially with the brainless work I'm often doing at temp jobs, it feels so great to be all subversive and get high right under everybody's nose. Sure, I'll bash in a year of your administrative backlog for minimum wage, but I won't be sober while doing it. I just bring my portable 1 watt USB powered speakers, which produce an extremely respectable sound compared to my phone's or my laptop's speakers. I also got them from a bargain bin for 3 euros, which is about $2.2 million in USD. ;)

For monotonous days where I work alone and I have to do a LOT of data entry, amps are my poison of choice. I get this dopamine boost every time I do some stupid brainless task, which makes boring work suddenly very enjoyable. On the other hand, I can get very introverted on amps, especially larger dosages, so if I know I'll be working with other people (or sharing a work room) I like dosing some G and keeping my amp use minimal. I am a total night person, and some G in the morning and after lunch keeps my sleepiness under control, and also helps with work-related muscle aches and general tiredness.

But there's also nothing quite like a slow day where I just have a lot of social interactions. I love being on a DXM afterglow and dosing some G, which makes me really empathic and social - not to mention that it gives a great body high.

Another thing I really enjoy is dosing DXM at the end of the final lecture of the day, or at the end of my workday. I trip a lot harder when I dose somewhere else than at home, so the train ride back gives it time to kick in so I'll be tripping balls when I get home.

When I used to do K all day, I would do it everywhere. Nobody ever noticed, because I get quite social on dissociatives in general, and K makes me look a lot less fucked up. I don't do K much anymore though, maybe 3 times a year; my body reacts to it very negatively even if it's 100% pure stuff.

I used to toke up during breaks at previous temp jobs, but that just makes me hungry, tired and unmotivated. So I don't do that anymore.

Anyway, long story short: I enjoy being high at work. I'll do your dumb work for little compensation, but I won't be sober.

I've gone to a kitchen on 2C-E. It was FUCKING HORRIBLE. I stupidly plugged 8 mgs of it early in the day, and then by the time my evening shift started I was still tripping out pretty good. I had a bad body load to deal with, my attention span was totally shot, and there was time dilation and it was just terrible. Not to mention trying to deal with people and seeming normal. I think I did just fine in all department cause everyone just carried on as usual, but fuck....

....anyways, you'd think I learned my lesson, but later on when I was working in a grocery store, I tried doing low doses of LSD or AMT and going to work as a produce clerk. It was interesting. Always gave me a mild energy boost and added a nice bounce to my step, but it was never really tripping....

...anyways, mostly I would say don't trip at work. Trip when you can fully enjoy the material in a comfortable set and setting.
