so when my friend rolls he pees clear urine like a race horse probably 10+ times over the course of 6 hours while drinking the recommended amount of water/gatorade (about a bottle per hour maybe a little more depending on how much hes sweating and dancing) and always has a blast but nobody else is peeing. note: THESE ARE NOT PIPES, he knows for a fact they are clean. the times he started feeling weird was the times that he pee'd maybe once or twice throughout the night and it was darker colored and wasnt drinking recommended amount. just curious if anybody else has this experience with peeing a lot and if it is a good or bad thing?

Is friend overweight? Family history of diabetes? He could have undiagnosed diabetes or possibly a sodium deficiency. More likely diabetes. I have heard a TSP of salt helps the urination, but.. Might be diabetes though. Any other signs/symptoms of diabetes?

that sounds strange because mdma normally causes a release of the anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) thus causing you to not pee while you roll... everyone's body is different though i suppose I don't really think he has a lot to worry about if his pills are clean and he's drinking a safe amount of water.

ive heard of both cases. I have friends that are like your friend.
me, personally, when i'm rolling, i rarely need to use the bathroom but once i start coming down, ill have to go like every 15 mins and i'll piss out a gallon every time.
my point is, it's normal/varies from person to person, so your friend shouldnt be worried

no family history of diabetes, average height for male and skinny, not sure about other symptoms though, i will have him check w the doctor... the only times he pisses frequently are when under the influence of alcohol and when drinking lots of water/gatorade rolling. kid is at the doctor like once every two weeks anyway so i feel like they would have picked up on diabetes by now but maybe they never checked for it....any other explanation? maybe just an overactive blatter?

LOL, wth, same problem with me yesterday. When I usually roll, I can't pee for shit and when I have to go pee I have to concentrate to let it out.. But yesterday it was a whole different story, I went to take a piss 6 times and I ***did not*** take pipes, I know I was floored, even when i was peaking I had to go to the restroom. The funny thing was, I was even aware of this so I decided to not even drink water during my roll but I still went to the restroom anyways even when I had NO WATER.. and yes, it was clear as water.... don't know why.. then after a while I just shoved it off and I drank some water.. it was weird..

@pokemaster: are u overweight and have family history of diabetes? i feel like the diabetes explanation is a stretch in my opinion.

@roganmaster: agreed i dont think its anything to worry about either bc everyone is different and im sure there are plenty of ppl who experience pissing a lot while rolling.

from columbia encyclopedia: "Dehydration or body stress will raise ADH secretion and water will be retained"....my friend wasn't sweating nearly as much as anyone else and was taking a lot of regular breaks to sit down and chill and throw water on his face, whereas other ppl weren't. ppl also weren't drinking as many fluids as him. so maybe the fact that his body was a lot more hydrated than others and his taking breaks reduced body stress and allowed him to piss? just my theory, could have pulled that out of my ass though haha

Just tell him to eat something really salty next time before hand. like a pickle maybe? salt will help retain fluids thus not peeing so often. less need to replenish lost fluids as frequently

thanks for the help, im startin to think its probably bc of the fact that he was the only one not really sweating yet he was still drinking a lot of water and gatorade, so he was probably just overhydrating himself and since he wasn't sweating it out he had to piss it out. would that make sense? if so then i will also advise him to have less fluid intake if he isnt sweating.

Ya but MDMA makes me sweaty even if I'm just sitting there. If he's not sweating, it could be due to dehydration. I would be safe and drink a fair amount of water/electrolytes.. if he has to pee, sobeit, it's better than risking dehydrating imo

although not sweating could be a sign of dehydration, the fact that he was pissing clear urine and a lot of it would negate that...if he was dehydrated he would either be not pissing or pissing dark urine. drinking a whole lot of water could result in hyponatremia, but he was drinking a lot of gatorade too so that would replenish his lost sodium and electrolytes. from my research it seems that peeing a lot of clear would be more of a good thing than a bad thing i think...could be dangerous if he was drinking all water and no gatorade though and not peeing and not sweating though from what i understand

^ I understand. I'm just saying the body needs to rid it's waste, and if he's not peeing OR sweating.. it's not being rid, and it could = dehydration. always better to be safe and drink a regular amount of fluids/electrolytes, frequent urination is better than dehydration, and usually causes the dehydration, not the other way around. frequent urination ---> dehydration, stimulants are diuretic in nature and cause many people to get dehydrated simply from pissing too much "clear" urine, like you described.

It's better to be peeing clear than dehydrated, is all I'm saying.

Drinking a lot of water/liquid will make your urine more and more clear. Some people have trouble peeing while rolling, and some don't.

Sounds normal to me.

Am I overweight, no.. but i do have a family history of diabetes

I feel like I need to pee alot ,
But half the time I never do, I just stand there by the urinals waiting xD

LOL give it a shake or two and walk out like u just pissed and then give it another go later haha i guess as tom landers said to begin with its just different with everybody, some ppl sweat it out and dont pee much or at all and others just flow all night haha

I think it has something to do with cortisol and adrenal fatigue. Ecstasy, takes a huge toll on the body and is a huge stresser. When your body is under stress cortisol levels must rise also
If your adrenals are weak, you don't produce enough cortisol. Somehow.. this causes you to pee. Don't really know how this works. But I know that the same thing happens to me, and other people I've talked to who have adrenal insufficiency.
If you have adequate cortisol levels you shouldn't be peeing.

Unfortunately modern medicine doesn't acknowledge that adrenal fatigue exists. There is only cushings syndrome which is overproduction of cortisol, and complete deficiency, addisons disease. Since when does any organ have such extremes?

You can get strips online that measure your cortisol and dhea hormones through your saliva. i really think that it most likely has something to do with cortisol. There's cortef you can take in small amounts to aid in recovery of adrenals, or something called isocort, licorice root helps too. Eating low sugar diet also helps the adrenals. Cuz when blood sugar goes up and down, which with the modern day diet usually does, the adrenals are constantly being worked.

I bet your friend pees more when he's stressed in general.

@severely etarded: so my friend talked to his doctor and he got bloodwork done like 3 months ago and doctor checked his tests said he doesn't have diabetes, so that rules out that theory.

@its.euphoric: i see the logic behind what ur saying and see how that could be a poaaible explanation for y he pees a lot. after doing research, it seems that not everyones ADH levels are increased by taking mdma and that there hasnt been an exact connection made as to whether it is the mdma itself that causes the increase in ADH or if it is the activity they are partaking in or a combination of the two. maybe he is one of the ppl that ADH remains relatively the same in, i dunno...anyway i dont really understand the implications of adrenal insufficiency and mdma usage though? is this dangerous or just a theory on y some ppl piss and others dont?

@its.euphoric: since i have nothing better to do i did some research by crossreferencing mdma with addisons disease/adrenal insufficiency and i couldnt find anything that would indicate a significant risk...the only possible interaction i could come up with would be that it could potentially increase the risk of hyponatremia for a person's with addison's disease, so drinking gatorade rather than water or ,as severely etarded suggested, adding a TSP of salt to water would combat this. wondering ur thoughts on this and what ur typical fluid intake is when u roll?
