How is that in bad taste?

There is something about beach angels....they are warm and caring but can also take a walk on the wild side. What's not appealing about that? That sounds pretty fucking appealing to me, no one comes even remotely close to a beach angel

Childbirth doesn't make a lot of sense to me..

Evidently, most babies come out head first (those that don't are somewhat anomalous "breech babies", iirc). But does this mean that the child is upside down throughout the pregnancy? I mean, you'd think that would cause brain damage, right? I suppose the alternative would be that the child stays right side up until it's "time", and then mother nature, or Zeus, or something tells the child to do a flip and swim out.

I have no idea of how a baby could figure out something like that. Even being fully grown with an (arguably) fully developed human brain, I'd still be at a loss as to what to do if I suddenly found myself in a contracting uterus. Hell, come to think of it, I was a Ceasarian (sp?) birth..probably because I didn't know what the fuck to do.

Of course, babies seem to know how to do a whole host of things that would ellude me. For example, how the fuck would a thirsty child know to suck a nipple? From what I gather, I wasn't weaned until I was, like, three or something, but I probably spent the first two years trying to figure out what the fuck to do..ya know?

Babies flip all around during pregnancy, they never stay in one spot for the whole term and they wiggle around and move. The baby lives in "water" essentially via amniotic fluid anyway. Close to the birth the obgyn/midwife will push around and get the baby in the correct position of head down. If the doctor can't get the baby to flip (breech baby) or in other circumstances (like it's taking too long for the baby to come out and oxygen deprivation is a concern) then a c-section may be imminent.

It's all instinctual for the baby, and you have the mother (and uterus, because it's contracting) to be "pushing" the baby out anyway, it's not exclusively up to the baby to figure it all out, there is plenty of help along the way, but really, if the home you've known suddenly becomes hostile, you aren't going to stick around, you're going to want to get out.

As for feeding, that's all instinctual as well and a baby quickly learns and understands the food source. It does not take long for a baby to figure out what fills that horrible feeling of hunger. Babies are actually pretty smart and can learn quite quickly.....not sure what your deal was ;)

WTF? what do they do, use magnets or something?

Maybe the uterus will change.

Instinct, WTF? If you're hungry/thirsty, it's a matter of survival..that's no time to be thinking about titties, IMHO.

No magnets, they just use hand and pressure movements to encourage the baby to flip in the correct direction.

Would you stay in your house if it felt like a tornado just crashed right into it? You wouldn't be thinking "eh, this ain't so bad", you'd be thinking "get me the fuck out of here!"

If you're an infant thinking that you're starving to death you will suck on whatever is put in front of you. Babies don't see, it's not they come out looking for a boob to suck on (they don't see like we see anyway, I believe they see in black and white at first but a newborn doesn't see much of anything, iirc)

Agreed. I don't know how they figure that shit out. I mean boobs take up a large portion of the free thinking space my head has left, but not so much at those self preservation moments. Or maybe I'm just a pretty dumb person when it comes to that type of thing. I was cesarean and bottle fed as a baby so maybe I don't understand due to lack of experience.

On another note I was already told that we're not going to be open tomorrow for work so I get to sleep in. This is going to be the first snow day I've had in like 6 years too. Sometimes the snow just isn't that bad. I also had a delayed opening once this year too. Feels almost like I'm back in school again. Pretty soon I'm gonna get confused and wait for the school bus one morning.

babies poop on themselves.

fuck, we're getting raped with snow. if i lose power i'm going to fucking rage. i need computer usage because sometimes i visit websites that have videos of people making love.

Makes perfect sense..and, it all adds up, too. The reason I was a c-section is probably because I was too fucking stupid to figure out what the doc and nurse were trying to get me to do..

As an adult, I'd probably figure that out eventually..but as a newborn I probably would have tried to resist the change, and maybe push back at the uterus.

So *that's* where that instinct comes from..
