The pits of hell
My computer is in the shop I'm operating on my cell otherwise I'd utfse how many mg of diazepam is equivalent to 30mg of temazepam? I have taken 20mg of diazepam this morning and want to take some temazepm. Any info would help greatly. I have a benzo tolerance the 20mg of diazepam is my scripted diazepam dose. I wanted to kick up a buzz with some temazepam without falling asleep? What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

20mg of Diazepam is equivalent to 40mg Temazepam but I'd say that 30mg is closer. But remember that Temazepam is a hypnotic. I'd suggest you take 30mg since I know you have a tolerance to other benzodiazepines (Your still on Klonopin right?). Any higher might make you too tired.

even though i usually see 20mg temazepam = 10mg diazepam, imo its more like 15mg temazepam = 10mg diazepam.

temazepam is a fuckin strong benzo.

It really is a bitch. But the diazepam taper makes it easier to deal with. I had to get down to 1mg of Klonopin first and then taper from 20mg diazepam, down 10mg first month and then 5mg each following month.

wait, each month???

i'm doing like a 1 week, 2 weeks max thing.

how fuckin long does it usually take people to get off benzos?

i think the Depakote is helping more than i thought...

I haven't taken any klonopin today. I took 20mgs diazepam, 15mg opana snorted, 350mg soma an I have a 75mcg fent patch on... I have no buzz to speak of I want to kick into relaxation mode.. That's why I was asking.

I want to feel loopy.

Thanks all.

all of that and you not even relaxed?

shit...

perhaps a bit more Opana and a bit more diazepam will get you were you want to be(or at least close).

I went off kpins cold turkey upped my diazepam dose tapered it down in a week. Now I just take diazepam daily and kpins for stressful situations ect.. I think by the month is too long for the taper but if it's working for you that's good. Sorry to bring up a shitty subject for you.

Yea I slipped a disc way out.. I can feel it moving around in ways it's not supposed too... Husband is off of work today so I wanted to sedate myself a bit to be comfortable. My next pain mgt appt is on the 11th so hopefully the dr will do something to help out. I can move this disc up and down and around with my hand... It's fucking weird and it hurts like a bitch.

I was thinking perhaps the temazpam would bring it all together nicely.

she said she was on diazepam(valium) not klonopin(clonazepam) also original poster i would take at least 80mg of temazepam if you wanna get any buzz, personaly i find it really weak on the buzz side, more of a nitro benzo kinda guy.;)

if you were still taking diazepam when you stoped the klonopin then you were not going cold turkey, going cold turkey means just stopping dead an having no other drugs at all. not having go just thought id say.;)

I already got off it, I've been off benzodiazepines for probably...um...maybe 4 months now, something like that.

I went monthly because I wanted to be as comfortable as possible and it worked. No withdrawals except some rebound anxiety. I figure I needed to go down monthly because the last time I went off them going by weeks I relapsed (obviously) and didn't feel comfortable enough. I've been on them for 11 years so I needed proper treatment. I went by the chart on benzo.org.

I feel ya k'D out!! Coming off that shit sucks... I do fast and harsh tapers to get it over with. Good for you for getting off of them though. I dropped my klonopin so I would only be dependent on one benzo. Now if I ever decide to come off diazepam I will officially be a fucking mess.

its actually not so bad, my doc put me on Depakote to combat with the discomfort of a quicker taper and i don't feel any withdrawl symptoms other than the occasional desire to want to get fucked up on benzos and alcohol.

i highly suggest Depakote for benzo withdrawl, it increases GABA and (i guess)somehow thats really making this taper easy.

It increases GABA-T, not GABA-A like benzodiazepines. But I suppose any drug that increases GABA would work.

You know, the Depakote may just be helping because you may have a mood disorder you were unaware of and now its helping.

GABA-"T", unlike GABA-"A", is not a receptor but a process(transamination) of how GABA is put through the brain. GABA-T inhibition leads to increased GABA levels in the brain(increased GABA leads to sedation, reduced anxiety, anticonvulsant effects, etc.), the drugs gabapentin and pregabalin act as a form of GABA that can enter the brain and when it gets into the brain it acts as how increased GABA levels would affect the brain(which is why Depakote gives a feeling similar to gabapentin/pregabalin i guess).

and generally any GABA increasing drug would help for benzo withdrawl.

also i might have some sort of mood disorder but usually people with mood disorders who take it say it is a terrible drug so i doubt thats why its affecting me so well. i think the reason its helping is because i'm coming off benzos and the increased GABA levels are providing relief from the withdrawl effects.
