"Seeing" while your eyes are closed?

hello. Over the past 6 months my girlfriend and i have been abusing MDMA. (usually twice a month, .3-.4 grams each sometimes.)

the other night we were laying bed on a wednesday, after having done it on saturday night. we both said to each other at the same time, do you feel like you can see with your eyes closed kinda?

anyone else on this boat? fucks goin on here? its really weird, I know i cant actually see... but it honestly feel like my eyes are open when they are closed sometimes when im going to sleep.
 
I have had similar experiences on mushrooms where I would close my eyes but still see my surroundings although with a different color scheme.

I completely agree with legerity and also happen to love that song. The same has happened with me on shrooms several times and even once or twice when I was really blazed. Honestly I wish it would happen more often, even though I like closed eye visuals alot. I wonder if SWIM's brain's imagination just kicks into high gear or what but ether way I know what you're talking about here
 
holy shit i have that i didn't know anyone else did
like i'll be completely sober at night and i'll close my eyes and i feel like i can still see the corners of my walls or the outline of something

like last night or two nights ago that happened and i focused my vision on it and then i saw this like purple rectangle with stuff moving inside all of a sudden and i opened my eyes and i could still see it for a few seconds it was fucking crazy
 
Absolutely! Sometimes vivid memorable images, sometimes a soft pattern, or anything in between. MDMA is a unique drug, it's somewhat psychedelic in varying degrees from person to person. Though it's classified as an amphetamine, I find it more ego lifting, loving and visual than anything (not typical attributes of an amphetamine).
 
I was making out with a chick at a show and I started skiiing in my head this one time
 
Maybe it should be called 'closed eyelid visuals'

Technically, your eyes are never closed. ;)
 
Haha I get this as well but only while I'm actually rolling, I'll feel like I'm in a completely different place. I get really confused for a few seconds when I open my eyes :P
 
Ive had it happen before with MDMA and Mescaline.

With the MDMA i took a thumb print at phish and could see right through my eyelids. The band and all.

Then with the mescaline, i was at my friends house and we drank and god awful amount of san pedro tea. When it started to kick in, i closed my eyes and could still see an outline of everything in the room.

I think its pretty cool if you ask me.
 
as "cool" as it is i just feel like my brain is gone when stuff like that happens while i'm not rolling.

I mean, I work construction so whatever... but i'd like to be able to put a sentence together still.

should I be concerned? is this a sign of permanent damage? the way you guys all described it is exactly how it is for my girlfriend and I.
 
I dont think its damage of any sort.

Im no doctor/ scientist, but i think its just the image going from your eyes to your brain stem being delayed. So by the time your eyes are shut, the image is just being processed and your seeing it still in the dark.

you're just really high when that happens =D your body is fatigued not to mention extremely high. Similar things have happened to me. i was at a Halloween party this year and maybe went a little overboard with my dosage. my friend and i sat down to take a breather from dancing. i closed my eyes and the next thing you know it i thought i was at home getting ready to go to bed lie down and relax. i felt like my eyes were open and complete conscious but a few minutes later i kind of snapped back and realized i was still at the party.


And MDMA can cause brain damage and make you a tad ''slower'- but you have to do A LOT!
 
I get this on MDA and MDMA on the higher dose ends.
its like brain movies you can close your eyes and actually see like a movie almost.

i had taken 220mg of MDA and at the peak i was freaking out because i was having the most intense "brain movies" they would be random images changing in seemless order. beautiful and amazing

but having it after a ROLL i have not experienced yet.
 
yeah, if i imagine something it will some times appear in that same sort of color as when you look into the sun too long or something.
 
The worst drug experience of my life was after taking a hit of 5-MeO-DMT I was able to see everything around me with my eyes closed. I could even see all of my surroundings with my hands over my eyes. Was very freaky. I thought I completely lost it!

What you are seeing may be described as an after image though. To experiment with this go into a dark room with a mirror. Shut off the lights for a minute or two and then flick the switch on and off real fast and then leave the lights off. Each time your eyes will adjust and you will see the image stuck in your view. Very cool to try this with a friend while on LSD! Each time you flick the lights a new image will 'freeze' in your sight.
 
find and read my Lucid Dreaming post here. used to do it and perfected flying like Superman over my city all of the time while getting to sleep on LSD.

Had some significant gains in practicing lucid dream tactics .
 
I took a 300 mg dose of Diphenhydramine once, with small amount of delirium and hallucinations. However one thing that shook me completely was when trying to sleep I would shut my eyes and be able to see clearly a completely different place without any 'lucid dream' fuzziness around the peripherals. It was quite odd and I could very easily open my eyes and be in bed again..
