A lot of shows I go to have a really bad crowd at them b/c it's all headliner DJ's, and TONS of douchebags show up with no regard for anyone else just shoving into people to get by, no manners whatsover. I've seen guys literally shove people's girlfriends aside just to get through, or people completely being hostile looking for trouble.

Do you guys think you could properly defend yourself/whoever you are with, even if you were rolling balls at the time? Obviously it's always better to talk to people even if they are the instigator, but some people are just not reasonable people and just look for trouble.

I generally avoid places and situations where there will be bad vibes or choose not to roll there. No point in killing a roll and wasting money.

BTW, what connection do you see between headlining DJ's and douchebags? Please enlighten me because I don't see a connection ;p

At least around here when they have headliners in the upscale clubs, they draw in a hugely diverse group of people, ravers, regular club goers, hardcore music fans, etc. A lot of the regular club type goers are doucebags around here at least, maybe not in NYC. Unfortunately not a lot of dedicated EDM venues around here, most of the headliners just perform at the upscale celebrity type clubs and then you get to deal with the doucers. Nothing against clubbers as I am one, just clubbers with that annoying, "fuk you it's all about me" attitude

I love headliners but I definately like the smaller more dedicated crowds at non-headlining shows

Ahh, ok I got ya.

Not much you can do in those situations. Lucky for me, most of the DJ's I love play both big events and small intimate events, i just catch them when they are playing more underground things.

I always think when im on E that I would do my upmost to avoid any violence when Im wired out my brain, and I couldnt imagine getting punched or something like that the thought of it sickened me.

In ibiza a few years ago though my friend got glassed in the neck by a spanish guy who said he was dancing with his girlfriend, trying to put pressure on my friends neck while he is bleeding from the neck heavily we were all assuming pretty much certain death. It was one of the most scariest things in my life mostly because we were all "rolling", to top it off the spanish police turned up, there was a language barrier and they thought we were actually the attackers so about 5 police beat us all to the floor with batons, friends had broken wrists etc.

There will be idiots in the crowd just stay away from them or dont do anything to provoke lol just go about enjoying your night and hope nothing happens

Yeah I think it's best to avoid most places if you think it will become necessary to have to defend yourself. I guess that's not so easy though if all the events you like to go to have that type of atmosphere. It's unfortunate that some people need to ruin it for everybody.

That's why I only really enjoy underground raves, and we still have good ones here. The regular clubs and afterhours just feel sleazy to me, completely different crowd and vibe.

It really depenends on the person - if your a fighter/ violent person by nature then your going to fight regardless of how much MDMA you have in you.

If your normally a placid person who would avoid trouble then your going to avoid it all the more.

If something is starting simply walk away its not worth getting into a fight when you are unable to protect/defend yourself.
