Halfway through 13 and must admit it's nowhere near as bad as expected. Been totaly Yankified and cleaned-up for the US punters and he didn't even bother with the twist at all though. Maybe he just assumed it would be given away before anyone saw it anyway with all the pre-release gossip you get with Hollywood shite. Shame. Ray Winstone is definitely a boon though.

Inception is nowhere near bilge.
Its a below average action film wrapped up in philosophy. But it was good at the cinema. And I don't like de Craprio's face. Out of that or Shutter Island, then Inception was the better picture.
But if I was Chris Nolan I'd be pretty fucking happy that I was given £180 mil or whatever to make whatever the fuck I pleased.
13 13 13 13 13 the proper version is only good the first time. Its not amazing. It starts off well and then peters out gradually. Plus the ending is frustrating.

The ending was a tad disappointing after the rest, to be fair. Only watched it the once so is still perfect in my memory. Maybe I won't bother watching it again for a while - the surprise of discovering what it's all about is kinda what it's all about really...

And you are wrong about Inception - bilge I say and bilge it is :p;)

I was left a bit flat by Inception, it was no Dark Knight haha <3

Inception was ace mate! I've just watched Bounded by Blood, quality film about essex gangsters back in the 90's. One of the best British ganster movies i've seen :)

Got a few more downloading aswell...new laptop is rapid!

Inception was all bark and no bite... lots of promise but never really delivered - even the ending made me groan with 'hollywood predictability' sadness.

"bounded by blood" Its BONDED.
Anything with Tamer Hassan in is shit. The only surprise is that Dyer the supreme cunt isn't in it also.
British Gangster films = Get Carter, The Long Good Friday, Gangster No. 1 and Layer Cake. There are then about 100 pieces of unwatchable shit that came off the back of Guy Richie's undeserved success.

Y'know, I hate to say it but I may actually prefer the ending of the 13 remake. Rest of the film was definitely watered down and made more "user friendly" for the US market but the end section has been totally changed and is surprisingly un-Hollywoodised. If anything, it's actually darker than the original end section. The somewhat gung-ho final third of the original never did quite live up to what went before. Not as bad a job on the remake as I thought it would be - the new ending saves it from totally raping the original.

Cleets: I can but apologise for doubting you - if they spliced the new end onto the original in sexy B&W lushness it would've been the best of both worlds. Original still wins by some considerable margin as it is. The lead actor in the remake gavea good performance too. Ol' Fiddy's part was mercifully brief though thankfully :D

Few years old now but have Gomorrah downloading as we speak.

Fuckin good show

Sounds like I'll be downloading 24hr party people then ;) Happy Mondays!

Just finnished watching Adulthood, really enjoyed it. Better than Kidulthood too I thought!! Brrrraaap innnit blaad!!

Hehe. There are a couple of the classic Mondays moments re-enacted therein. Their initial brush with fame as "The Most Evil Kids in Britain?!?" in The Sun years before they started the Mondays is mean as fuck but also hysterically wrong. There's also the epic crack binge in the Caribbean =D

Have Adulthood knocking around somewhere but not seen it yet. Wasn't exactly blown away by Kidulthood but will get around to it at some point.

Kidulthood is the better film imo.

I love 24 Hour Party People, got it kicking about on DVD somewhere.

I've downloaded loads of shit recently. Think I'm gonna watch Animal Kingdom the night, sounds good. I'm too lazy to get links, check IMDB.

If your gonna watch anything tonight mate.. make it Animal Kingdom, it's fuckin crackin. I've been harpin on about it for ages now. You'll not be disappointed. Head and shoulders above most of the shite thats been out this year for sure.

great film 24 Hour Party People, love how lots of the real people have minor roles in it, like Shaun Ryder plays the bouncer on the door of the Hacienda

Cleets: I can but apologise for doubting you

Sir, I doff my cap & accept happily. You could quite easily of taken the stance of telling me I was wrong, wrong & even more wrong without even watching the remake, but you did. So you're a good 'un in my book :)

I will find the original myself & have a gander, especially now you say they are different at the end sequence.

You may still be two-thirds wrong (;)) but the last third of the film is totally different plotwise and I must admit does improve over the original in that sense cos it is a far better ending. Enjoyed it far more than I expected, for sure. Some good performances (and some godawful ones - fella who "calls the shots" I'm looking at you) especially from that lead actor definitely helped too :)

Fancy a giggle tonight and d/l In The Loop t'other night so probably watch that shortly.
