I am scripted both, and I've taken them both fine before... but today was different. I took 20mg adderall after my 30mg celexa, ate Christmas dinner... then noticed I started to feel nauseus. My head also felt weird, like I was afraid I was gonna have a seizure. My heart was beating really fast, and my body started to feel colder. It was weird. I also got really anxious and was afraid I was gonna pass out, and had some weird muscle twitches and weird moments where it was hard to move some muscles.

I popped a .5mg Xanax and it has helped calm me down, but I still feel a little weird; I still have the weird pressure in my head sensation. The nausea went away. I think the adderall might be wearing off too cus I took it around noon (hence me feeling colder).

Does anyone else know about this or share a similiar experience? I just thank god I have xanax on hand... dunno what I would have done without it.

Do you think I will be okay?

Regardless I am just gonna stop the Celexa, doesn't do anything for me anyway. The adderall is the one thing that does help me and I'm not having some sugar-pill feeling SSRI stop that (if that's the cause).

I've had very similar reactions to both zoloft and celexa while taking adderall. The only thing that helped me in these episodes was taking xanax. It could very well be serotonin syndrome, as my doctor determined this is what I experienced and my friend experienced a similar reaction after taking luvox with adderall.

The primary effects of adderall are attributable to dopamine, but the drug also has some effect on serotonin.

No, it could "not" very well be serotonin syndrome. Amphetamines don't effect serotonin at any level. Massive doses could be taken and it wouldn't effect serotonin. "Methamphetamine" does seem to release small amounts of serotonin in very high doses. Still, even then there wouldn't be a large enough release of serotonin to cause serotonin syndrome. Don't worry about it.

right there with you

i know exactly what your talking about mine was from prozac and alcohol i believe. I drunk the night before and was a week into my prozac and the morning after i felt ok, just a little hungover, about 2 hours later i started feeling weird in the head like you.Not to mention i had the runs all morning which was unusual.I check my eyes in the mirror and noticed they were dilated and glossy.Thats when i started to freak. i told my parents to call the ambulance i feel like im losing my mind and i could comprehend everything but when it came to speaking i felt very confused and couldnt make sense.Soon as the ambulance arrived i noticed while they were taking me that my heart was pounding. i stayed in the hospital all day and for most of it i was still confused and had that feeling in my head as if i was gonna have a seizure...just felt crazy...i was latter discharged at the end of the day and i felt clearheaded just tired...i definatly think it was serotonine syndrome and that might have set a panic attack off as well. The docs only diagnosed me with palipations but i know thats really what happened...it was hell to say the leat and if it happens again ill probably have a heart attack at 20

tnbodybuilder... why exactly do you feel qualified to make medical diagnoses?

Your doctors were aware of the situation and monitored you yet you think you know more than their training and experience to be able to discount their diagnosis?

Since both drugs have serotonergic activity, they can be dangerous to mix.

In the future, if you want to make a trip report of your experiences, feel free to do so in the appropriate forum. Please don't resurrect dead threads to do so.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to private message me.
