Always have this debate with my friends and various people.

Personally I like Pac better. I think He is more gangsta, big seems to be more studio produced, but big is real smoothe with his lyrics.

Thoughts?

Peace

Does anyone give a fuck anymore.

imho the real test of an mc is their ability to freestyle so Biggie slaughters it, pac always sounded like he was trying to spit faster than he could, DRE never rated him which says it all.

The only album of his i really like was me against the world which was written after he got shot 5 times.

And biggie had both his testicles and didn't get made a bitch by prison guards, hands down winner. Pac was a fake gangster, didn't he used to do ballet? he also used to call himself m.c new york how ironic.

Oh I dont think anyone gives a fuck but it's a fun debate to have when your Rollin down the ghetto smokin blunts listening to gangsta rap.

who cares about how gangster:P it sounds, and alot of pac is very heavily studio produced,

pac went to like an arts school and shit, and was into stage acting and defiantely wasn't that true of a gangster, :P

pacs more intelligent,
biggie is a big dumb black guy who has good flow, his music is more fun

there are both good for different things,

both

it doesn't have to be either/or, i'll take 'em both

my PERSONAL opinion is BIG, because i rate flow more important than anything.

tupac's material is much more emotional tho

I like both but I listen more to Pac then BIG. I like songs with deep lyrics, in Pac's songs you can feel the emotion coming through. BIG has some catchy songs, beats, and his flow is tight. I rate both of them pretty high.

maaaan..... some of u have no idea, Pac was the deepest he is the GOAT flow and delivery top notch, not real? yeah he took ballet and art but he was in the poorest district of NY at the time, for gods sake the guys Aunt is ASSATA Shakur, who is a known freedom fighter revolutionary and the guy himself was BORN in jail. he shot two cops in NY then he got shot, thats why he left. he was one of the REALEST out . he spoke from the heart you could feel the anger and passion in his music, all biggie did was make up fictionalized stories about his life in NY., PAC was is and always will be Greater than Biggie in every way, but don't get me wrong I like B.I.G too, it's just Pac Shines through greater. It gets greater later ...

Most people agree their both the top 2. I agree but i dont really know any other good old school rappers. Snoop and dre alright I guess. Today's rap if thats what you can call it is aids.

I would compare pac more to a poet, yeah he did some great songs but any old fool can pull a trigger.

Yes I know about his aunts involvement in the BP party. What does that have to do with pacs ability?

I know a few people that were born in jail, some addicted to heroin, they are no different to anyone else.

Mind you when they started releasing all his "studio scraps" and people claiming it was the best shit ever, that really pissed me off.

ol' dirty bastard is # 1

this man knows the truth! his first album was so slept on compared to the other Wu albums, yeah everyone know and love shimmy shimmy ya but that was just one track....

Rae is my favourite out of Wu. The only other rapper I really follow nowadays is ILL BILL.

Man, you've gotta listen to Mobb Deep and The Wu-Tang Clan (as well as the solo work of most of the members and affiliates of the Wu). But all these rappers are only arguably old school. But they're all great and from the same time period as Biggie and Pac.

For the real old school, check out Big Daddy Kane, Public Enemy, and Boogie Down Productions (and KRS-One's solo stuff too).

I find Biggie's music to be more fun and catchy and I think he had a better flow usually, but Pac's lyrics were better. Both were great.

You should check out Big L too if you haven't.

Most rap today sucks, but there's still a lot of good stuff coming out.

Wu-Tang is awesome, check out Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The members of Wu-Tang have put out great solo shit too, Tical by Method Man, Liquid Swords by Gza, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx by Raekwon, and Return to the 36 Chambers by the Ol' Dirty Bastard (Nigga Please is also a super bizzarre yet great cd). Niggamortis (also known as 6 Feet Deep) by The Gravediggaz is also one of my favorite cds right now.

I consider The Infamous by Mobb Deep to also be one of the greatest hip-hop cds ever.

no contest.

The only people that think big and pac are the best rappers ever are people who don't know shit abot hip hop, seriously back in the day you would have got knocked the fuck out for spouting such dumb opinions at a hip hop concert.

Rakim?

Slick Rick? (biggie owes his whole storytelling style to this guy, the first mc to do falsetto voices to imitate females)

do you guys even know who dana dane is/was?
