if your country imposed the death penalty for drugs, would you still use drugs?

It depends on the drug, for me. If we're talking about abusable prescription drugs, yes. But I can live without other drugs...As long as I have my opiates.

"People shouldn't be afraid of their government, Governments should be afraid of their people"

In real democracies this is how it should work. Sadly in north america and much of the rest of the world people got it into their heads that we should be afraid of the government.

I'd definently be a lot more careful about my drug use, in terms of where I got my supply, where I used it, and how often I used. I definently wouldn't use drugs in public or go out in public under the influence. But if only 2.5% of users were caught I'd probably keep doing it because I know there is at least 2.5% of users that would be a lot more obvious and irresponsible about it than I would. It's kind of like drinking and driving, you know there's always a chance you can get caught, but you also know if you don't do it often, go on the back roads, and make sure not to speed\break traffic laws that the police will be too busy with other more obvious offenders to catch you (not that I'm saying drinking and driving of any sort is a good idea though, just to be clear). It's probably not the perfect analogy but you get the idea.

I wouldn't buy drugs. But I'd grow marijuana, mescaline, morning glories, poppies, tobacco and mushrooms. I'd also brew my own alcohol and synthesize any other drugs that I could. I think I could do all of those things discretely enough to avoid being caught. Buying drugs would be too risky though. But I feel that I literally can't live without drugs. I could live without most drugs, but I need weed and caffeine on a daily basis. Life wouldn't really feel worth living to me if I could never get high. As long as I could at least occasionally get high I'd be ok.

I second all the posts about amassing firearms. I definitely would do that and if I ever got busted, there would be no way I'd go down without a fight. I mean at that point, what do you have to lose? Just the time between arrest and execution. No thank you. Imma take down as many mofuckers with me as I can lol.

My big assumption is that less people would use drugs, therefore I wouldn't have been exposed to the same environment that I have been, therefore I wouldn't use them.

However, even without that assumption, I'm a paranoid person already, so if there was a death penalty I probably wouldn't use them.

Same here. It would make the drug trade infinitely more dangerous. But I think eventually it would probably mellow out, police wouldn't want to try to bust people and get shot at. Either that or police could use chemical agents/tear gas and raid your place in the middle of the night. But damn that's a shit ton of work and danger without much of a payoff.

Although getting offed by that russian fent analog gas wouldn't be half bad.

every addict knows that doing drugs and living this lifestyle is essentially a death sentence in the end. so yeah, even knowing that, knowing all/every consequence that is and could be for doing drugs...i would still do them. i dont think anything would stop me.

i wouldn't smoke, ever. i might pop pills on rare occasion just because it's real easy to hide. but no reason so smoke cigs or weed if the consiquences are death, too risky

what you wouldnt stand up be free wave at the police officer that may execute you while you have a cigarette in your month well I guess i would be the only one to do this.I would rather die free doing what I want than to die in fear and a total slave to the system.I would happily die my way with this inner peace I feel deep within my heart my soul.I will always live with as much freedom as I possibly can though alot of people don't understand that they are slaves as all of us are.

I think this is something nobody could truly answer with 100% certainty unless they actually lived somewhere where this was the case. Personally, I believe I would continue to do drugs regardless of their legal status but that said I do like a drink and if I were literally facing death and assuming alcohol were still legal I am not sure I wouldn't just become a fully blown pisshead (I am half way there already, lol) and leave the illicits alone or atleast use them much less frequently.

I think myself, along with a lot of people would continue to use, but I would definitely become much more violent. It's one thing if the police are trying to temporarily take my freedom or money, as much as it sucks, but if death is the penalty for using drugs, I'm letting off as many shots as I can if I get pulled over. What incentive do I have not to, it's either killed or be killed and you can be sure as hell I'm going to do everything possible to stay up. To quote Dre: It's either my life or yours, and I ain't leavin', I like breathin'.

agreed with most people on here. i would still use, but i would most certainly have guns and such on me. if im gonna die anyway, why not go out with a bang. might as well not even make it to jail - death by cop.

after reading this, im very glad worse laws are not in effect.....and never will be........

imagine getting death over some weed.......

i had a pharmacist friend point at my girls grandma, and say that cannabis will be legal in her time..............

High 'n' Die.

If I could be sentanced to death for just possession then I wouldn't touch 'em with a barge pole. One would have to be incredibly stupid to risk death to get high.
