How to get my doctor to listen to me

ive also thought about the side effect thing, but decided against it because like he said most will have the same side effects, and i really dont wanna say i have some way out there side effect, then i may lose my credibility with him

It worked for me. Now I never have to take morhphine in pill form ever again. I get opana and roxis. I went through a few meds before I got to the opana. But it beats being on some shit that doesn't work. I said that Morphine caused me to break out.. I complained the patch gave me headaches and made me super tired. lol

It's up too you. But that is what worked for me. You won't lose credability if you complaint is ligitamate!

I do think the morphine is giving me mad headaches since he upped the dose to 100mg twice a day. is that a side affect the could get him to think about switching me?

I called the doctors office today and told them I was getting massive headaches due to the morphine and that it was not very effective at that dose for relieving pain. They told me to come in today at 5 to talk to the doctor. do you guys think that is a good sign?

Headaches is a side effect. Its on the side effect list of most opiates. However he will likely switch you to something different. Since you have done patches, and done morphine... The options left are good ones..

Chances are the more you try to convince your doctor to switch you to Oxycontin, the less likely it is that he'll do it. Pain doctors have to deal with so much drug seeking behavior & whatnot in their practice that I'd imagine anytime you bring up wanting to be switched to Oxycontin it will raise a huge "red flag" in his mind.
As somebody previously said, "climbing the morphine ladder" can take a long, long time. If you don't want to be on Morphine, next time he increases your dose you should just pretend that that high of a dose is having so many negative side effects that it's debilitating, AND that it STILL isn't working for your pain. That would probably be a much quicker way to get switched to a different pain medication.
Keep in mind, though, that if/when your doctor stops prescribing you Morphine, it doesn't mean he'll necessarily switch you to Oxycontin. There are many more pain medications that he could want you to try first. &, if managing your pain is your biggest concern, you may very well find that another pain medication works better for you than Oxycontin.

He didnt do anything. at all. no changes. I asked for a lower dose and a breakthrough med i could take every 4 to 6 hours and he said no to that too. Im gonna have to find a new doctor. one who will listen. hes nice and all. but he doesnt listen
