What happens if you are caught with a couple of pills on you at a festival in WA?

What would happen if you had 2-4 ecstasy pills on you and you got searched and caught. I've tried looking up the laws but it is all a bit unclear. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

I assume itd get confiscated and ur records would be taken and possibly banned from entering the venue. Mite even get a criminal record via a court summons n finger prints taken etc. Just take a sensible dose before u enter that way u have nothing to worry about.

I would assume they take them off you then give you a warning, that seems to be what happens over in NSW anyway.

Good way to keep your goodies safe is to keep them down your dacks well sealed up, and if by chance you get sniffed out by a dog claim you had just smoked a joint before entering the venue.

I use that 'just smoked a joint' line a couple times now when secretly I had a small bit of ganja down my dacks and always got away with it.

A Victorian friend was recently busted with 2 pills at a big Sydney dance event. They were taken away to be processed by police and had their ticket revoked. They had to appear in a Sydney court a month later where they received a 10 year conviction and a $600 fine. This truly shocked me for such a small amount!

Another friend was caught at a Vic event last year with 4 times that amount and only received a $400 fine with no conviction. This person was allowed to return to the event after processing at the police station.

I guess it all depends on state laws, the case that you represent and the mood/opinions of the judge on your court date.

How does telling the police you smoked a joint stop them from searching you? They searched me very thoroughly after I said the same thing.

Yeah, my mate used the 'smoked a joint beforehand' line, he still got strip searched.

Of course, he 'did' smoke a joint beforehand, took one for the team so the rest of us could get through :) Dude is a champ.

I'm sure it worked the first few times that we used it but now every person who gets a positive reaction will have said it :p they probably hear it a few thousand times each festival haha.

How come police can have the power to revoke tickets? Obviously the venues always pay lip service and say they refuse entry for anyone carrying drugs, but why aren't you allowed in after you've left the station. I've heard similar things happen in Vic for weekend events too. You get a court date and for some reason are no longer allowed to attend the festival

Power trip? Discrimination? Publicity stunt by organizers to make it look like they have a tough stance on drugs?

It's not much different to bouncers not letting you into a club for wearing the wrong shirt/shoes type shit.

They have every right to not allow you to enter the venue, for any reason really. It's for liability reasons and the fact lawyers could hold the event organisers responsible for someone ODing, getting injured or whatever while inside the venue. It's also to protect other people at the event I guess.

The day personal responsibility becomes more important and I suppose if/when laws were to change, that other people/event organisers would not be responsible for an individuals fuck-up, without the worry of being sued. The world would be a better place and we'd all hold hands and dance in a circle. Also natural-selection could get back to work ;)

At a festival more leniency, it is more so at the cop's discretion... If you have prior convictions they'll do you, you'd leave the festival depending on seriousness of prior charges and get done for possession of an illicit substance. 2 pills they would confiscate with an on the spot fine and maybe a counselling session follow up. 4 pills pushing it a bit more, I know they'd be perso but the cops are fuckers and while not a trafickable amount as such you may have a court appearance but no conviction if its a first offense... Dont quote me obviously also from SA so not sure what the go is in WA
