hello

looking for some help on this matter. i take drug tests currently that test for jwh 018 and 073. the tests get sent to redwood toxicology labs in redwood california.

my question is regarding other synthetics and their metabolites. would all JWH's break down into the same metabolites? what about other series of synthetics such as AM 694/2201, or SR 18/19?

im as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to chemistry so looking for advice. thanks.

no one has even a hunch on this?

i know im new to this website, but not drugs in general. and i am in no way looking to *beat* the drug test.

im simply curious about how it breaks down. are synthetics so similar in structure that they all most likely break down in to the same general metabolites? or are they different enough that different metabolites are produced. or is it somewhere inbetween?

just looking for a bit of insight, again forgive me for my lack of knowledge on the subject, im trying to learn!

Take a close look at the structures of JWH-018 and JWH-073. They are almost exactly the same compound, with one carbon difference. Looking at the indole ring (the nine-atom aromatic bicyclic structure that is shared by tryptamines as well), there is a carbon chain attached to the nitrogen (numbered #1).

JWH-018 has five carbons attached to this nitrogen, while JWH-073 has only four carbons attached here.

It has been shown that both of these compounds degrade in the body by the same mechanism: removal of the carbon chain at the N-1 position. So both compounds will show the same metabolite in drug tests: the N-dealkylated compound.

This does not mean that "all JWH will have the same metabolite", because there are numerous JWH compounds that are VERY DIFFERENT in structure of the rest of the molecule. For example, JWH-250 has a completely different structure attached at the opposite end of the molecule (instead of the 10-carbon napthyl ring structure, it has a 6-carbon phenyl ring structure)

Hope that helps. I suggest you pick up an organic chemistry textbook at the library if you want to know more about understanding chemical structures and how to name them and tell them apart from each other.

Not a drug test question but does JWH 200 have similar metabolites to JWH018/073? I know that 018 and 073 both have the naphthoyl ring and that 250 does not, but I can not find definitive information about 200.

Yes, it does.

To my knowledge was the metabolism of JWH-200 not studied resp. published yet, so we have to derive some preliminary conclusions from what is known about JWH-015/018:

- JWH-200 contains a 'naked' naphthoyl-moiety, hence the concerns about epoxide-containing metabolites are valid for this compound, too.

- In contrary to JWH-018, 073 and 250 is there are not a simple n-alkyl-chain at position 1, but a 2-(morpholine-4-yl)ethyl-moiety instead. I think that this heterocyclus could indeed serve as 'metabolic handle' to avoid going unnecessarily through the metabolic fate of the naphthoyl ring system. But as said above, that's are speculation...

I know that 018 and 073 both have the naphthoyl ring and that 250 does not, but I can not find definitive information about 200.
And with respect to JWH-200's structure, maybe you try it with the mighty "First Google-Then Wiki"-combo. Works perfectly in this case. :)

Peace! - Murphy

Thanks. I did google and look on Wikipedia but this was much more helpful. Thank you!

You are being drug tested for synthetic cannabinoids? Damn... I'm glad they only give me the regular 10 panel.
EDIT: JWH-250 is the only one I know of that I've tried that has a different chemical makeup than 018 or 073. I don't know squat about the metabolites, except I can pass THC tests while high :P
