Sorry if it's been mentioned (I couldn't see from what I read), but from being told by an actual policeman, some/all of these media releases have had the price calculated "on the street" as an estimate it brings from import to street dealer. As in, say X drug is 500kg, it's worth 1million for it for the first sale(s) to 'big fish' buyer, they sell it in smaller (and cut possibly) quantities for 2mil, these people then either sell it to 'bigger sized street dealers' and/or on the street all up for say 5 mil (also been cut as well blah blah), so 500kg of X drug which we know on the street might range for say, 5 mil all up, the price given is 5 + 2 + 1 mil so "price on street" is 8 mil in press release.

At least that is how I was told from one police officer. I guess a new gen of bluelighters need to be educated on "street price" in police terms, just maybe ;)

America is VERY close to collapse. Have you SEEN their fucking dollar man....

Their dollar is the weakest since somewhere in the 1980's. Due to there being so many heads of major co-orporations in the U.S they get hit harder by the recession. However they are way way way WAY in debt. I saw some crazy thing that pretty much said that America if they added up all their debts they were technically the poorest country in the world, because they owed more cash then there is on the whole planet....

Having said that, it ultimately said it wouldn't matter, America is in the unique position of being "world" leaders, so despite all the debts that get built up, they will manage off other country's helping them out in return for some form of security. All they have to worry about is remaining top dog. See the Japs would be able to take the helm as world leaders because they have a crazy strong economy, but this is because they are NOT aloud to have a military (since world war 2) in a signed contract. Therefore as technologically advanced as they get they still need America to be there for stability.

Ergo..... America, whilst "their" economy struggles, they virtually have a global economy... AND you'll like this Tripparrr. The new world order would have a global form of cash and therefore America would escape they're drastic debt ;)

There are theories that this economic collapse is all a plan to move forward to a one world government. I thought it was all conspiracy theory nut jobs but after researching their claims it makes sense. The only thing that takes credibility from the ones saying it is when Bush was president and trippled the size of the government and took us from a record surplus to a record debt no one complained. Most Bush supporters and Republicans in general are from the South and Mid-Western part of the country and those parts of the country are known for being racist. When we elected a black president all of these conspiracy people came out of the wood works making all these accusations against the government, so it might just be an attack on having a black president vs real theories.

We probably are the poorest country in the world right now. We owe way more than we can account for. Our currency is not backed by precious metal as currency is supposed to be. It is pretty much just paper with no real backing. They just keep printing more and more with no way to account for it. They also borrow like crazy from the Chinese, at the same time due to the free trade deals we made with them our middle class manufacturing jobs all went to China as well. As a result their economy and middle class has grown and is still growing as our's shrinks at the same opposite rate. We are becoming poorer as a country and as individual people as they become richer as a country and on an individual basis as citizens. They also have the largest military in the world.

All empires fall eventually. America had a good run but it may be over. China will probably be the next world super power. If they manage to team up with Iran and India they could come together and be what the US and England has been as far as world powers for the last 150 years.

I envy countries that do not send their jobs to other countries and find it their job to police the world like Australia, Canada, and most of Europe do. They all just mind their business, take care of their citizens, and leave everyone else alone. We made it our mission to spread democracy and improve the economies of poorer countries and it is backfiring on us. The world hates us, we gave away our good paying jobs so profitable companies could become more profitable at the expense of the people that work for them and buy their products and services. We used to produce and consume, now we just consume. Eventually we won't have the buying power to consume and will be regarded as weak and poor all because we tried to be the world police.

I am not as proud to be an American as I used to be. I am not having children because I do not want them growing up in the America that we are destined to become. I wish I knew other languages because I would like to leave and live in a non capitalist country. Capitalism is a good thing but we have taken it and used it to hurt our own citizens. Wealth has gotten out of control.

ok rant finished.

That's because when they run out they loan money from the Reserve Bank, the bank creates a debt + interest. Which can't technically be paid back because there isn't enough money for it, the system was designed to fail after a while, it was only a short term system really.

Nice rant. You know what you're talking about. A more global economy would also make it much easier legislatively for corporations to squeeze more money and resources out of the lower classes, especially in the third world.

Unfortunately, Being an Australian, I have to say that the American influence HAS indeed well and truly rubbed off on Australia. We send a hell of a lot of our jobs overseas these days. The only reason we are going well is because we have a near-uninhabited, practically untapped continent of rich mineral resources. If we weren't riding on the wave of a massive mining and other energy boom we'd be in exactly the same boat as most econimies.

American influence under the thing guise has spread far and wide, deeply entrenching itself. Even in the heart of Communist states you can now see capitilism and democratic view florashing.
