So reading here I discovered people have been saying that the Mylan Clonazepam is significantly weaker than normal Klonopin. If I ask my pharmacy to not give me Mylan, will they comply? Will it sound suspicious to them?

Also how true is this claim that Mylan is less effective? If you google it a lot of people are very vehement about it. Anyone have any stories?

I dunno you just call and tell them you've had different brand in past and don't like that generic shit most people don't I hate generics for the most part. I remember having blue klonopin they weren't pins though the the k in the middle. Roche and purepac are the best benzo brands from my experience...those blue 10mg vals were good

Yeah, I used to get 90 of those blue 1 mg pins a month and they were really good. Are those Roche? I thought they were the offical "Klonopin."

Now I get a measly 8 1 mg pills of the green Mylans a month. So if you think I just ask for Roche because I don't like the Mylans that they'll give it to me?

Yeah, Roche makes the brand name Klonopin. The Circle-Ks as I call them. I used to get the white 2mg ones, great stuff. Much more effective than the Mylan generic. Prepare to pay a HELL of a lot more money for Roche, as its brand name. You better have insurance.

I do have insurance. How much do you think I can expect to pay for 8 of them with insurance? I pay NO PRICES for the generics.

NO PRICES? NO PRICES? brand name would be about NO PRICEScash price, no insurance. you're getting ripped by that store.
i use a small local store and w/ one of my Rxs they substituted a diff brand one month and they made me feel nauseated. the next month i told them and they were totally cool about it. unless the store you use only gets one certain brand of generic there shouldn't be a problem. if you want the brand name ask for it but your insurance won't pay for brand name unless your doc writes brand name only on your Rx. but for only 8, brand name should cost about NO PRICES.

My doctor doesn't write on his pad "brand name only". On his pad is written "permission to be substituted" and he signs it which allows it to have generic also. If he doesn't sign it then it has to be brand name. But generally I have to still ask the pharmacist for brand name only if that is what I want.

I have no idea what the cost would be for you to get a brand name script filled. It depends on the drug and qty.

generics are just as good as eachother or the "original"... if you want to change generic, ask the pharmacy in advannce, and they can order the generic you want... if you want the "original" itt has to be your doctor who writes for example "Valium" and not "Diazepam" on your Rx... you can just ask your doc... or ask your doc to specify the generic you want on the Rx

but i doubt there is any difference at all

Its placebo that REALLY effects some people...including me.

Although I heard some drugs can have a certain percentage difference in potency but never seen any evidence.

I've read on here that generics can vary from the name brand by +/- 15%-20% on the active ingredient - a claim which seems utterly absurd at face value and for which no proof was offered.

I'll add again.

I find the Mylan clonazepam to be a an almost absurd reduction in quality from the brand-name, or the Teva's.

It feels like a completely different drug. It seems to last shorter, and after taking seven, I feel like I've taken 1 mg Teva. Even then, I'd prefer the 1mg Teva; those are great!

I feel its mostly placebo, I've had the Mylan, Teva and Roche clonazepams and I couldn't tell any difference but that's probably because I told myself that there wasn't gunna be a difference. ;)

You have the right to get the brand clonazepam you want. However, the brand name stuff is going to be more expensive, as already mentioned, and it will probably be harder to find.

I tried to pick up brand name Ativan once at my usual pharmacy and they said they would have to order the brand name but there really isn't any point in waiting longer for the refill AND paying more.

But you certainly can if it makes that big of a difference for you. Just call around to different pharmacies.

You can try, most pharmacies would likely oblige.

Please no price discussion and since we don't allow generic vs. brand discussion and this has been answered, I'm going to close this.
