Kpin questions

I just got prescribed 1mg of klonopin for panic attacks, i am already on hydrocodone and fentanyl.

my question, is klonopin boosted by hydrocodone? i read they were, also i hate xanax, any drugs that make me feel sleep are kinda worthless do me because i like to be buzzed and do things like play video games. do klonopins accomplish this? i took valium and it was really mild, i read benzos react to everyone different and kpins are the easiest to take a bunch and not OD on but that withdrawl is a bitch. i go thru fentanyl withdrawl for at least 2 weeks every month before i get my prescription refilled every month. does anyone know how bad the kpin WD symptoms are compared to fentanyl withdrawl, fent wd was horrible, like having the flu and generally being miserable, at the same time going thru hydrocodone withdrawl because i always run out early before i can get refills. so i dont want to go thru hydrocodone Wd, fentanyl WD, and benzo WD all at the same time.. its bad enough just going thru 2 Wds at the same time.

thanks.

hey there.chances are,if you dont like xanax and valium you wont like kpins too.1mg isnt too terrible but i withdrew from daily 60mgs IV midaz when my only supply ran out.was way worse than heroin.but at the rate you are doing it shouldnt be so bad.benzo withdrawals fuck with your head much more, for example feeling like people following you, being paranoid and being super stressed out over little shit.if you really do have real panic attacks its gonna make them worse too

Everyone responds to benzodiazepines differently. If you are sensitive to Xanax, I wouldn't take a lot of clonazepam. 1mg is a high dose for someone without much benzo tolerance. Try 0.25mg or 0.5mg at the most.

Clonazepam is less sedating IMO than other benzodiazepines, but it can still have that effect on you - for sure.

My advice overall is to not take benzos daily though, I would only take them 1 or 2x in a week typically at the most. You don't want to be dependent/addicted to benzos. I'm glad to hear that is also your goal. :)

i wish i was done with benzos.. im in the middle of my kpin taper and am in like a half w/d state constantly, it sucks and is hard to explain other than i feel fine and like shit at the same time and am constantly freezing.. i started at 5mg kpin and am at 2.5mg now. i wish this shit was over with and when i try not taking any to try and CT it i feel like im gonna die. I wish i never got addicted to benzos. Opiate w/d i can handle and have been for half my life but benzo w/d is something completely different. It's like a mix between trycyclic antidepressant w/d's + opiate w/d's + feeling like an icicle at once.

I'm not trying to get you scared of taking it but please don't get yourself addicted to it, i thought "ahh no big deal" in the beginning.. now i wish i never touched a benzo in my life!

Listen to CH.. only take a couple times a week as needed. Good luck! %)

Klonopin might work for you, If you take the right amount it should actually just calm you down and shouldn't make you nod out. The effects can be quite paradoxial over the long term though. I would just take .5mg at a time starting out.

well

well i do get paradoxical effects from OTC stuff like benadryl, it makes me hyper and keeps me up and stuff that usually knocks me out keeps me up, unless its xanax, i get no high from it just puts me to sleep. they said since i was taking pain killers they gave me a higher dose than usual of kpins. i dont see the point in taking drugs that make you go to sleep. how are the WDs compared to fentanyl? thats the worse withdrawl i've had and aside from taking too much hydrocodone and puking my guts out with cold sweats and feeling the worst i've felt in my life i can deal with most things but fent withdrawl was unholy.

i've never been through fent w/d but i did CT a 120mg methadone addiction and it was the worst opiate w/d's i have ever had and lasted forever, i would compare kpin withdrawal to that with a lot more anxiety/paranoia.

That makes absolutely no sense......why would they want to put you on a higher dose of klonopin because you take opioids? I would think if anything they would want to put you on less....

kpins [and other benzos] can potentiate the sedative effects of opiates (and fentanyl is some heavy Shiet) , but thats as much as i can tell you. from my personal experience being prescribed numerous benzos, kpins & ativan are the most sedating, whereas xanax is more of a mind-clearer for me. it may just be because the kpins last so long you end up dozing off, but everyone is different. i wouldnt worry TOO much about getting addicted to the kpins, opposed to those opiates youre on. my friend (who had never done drugs before) back in high school got some kidney surgery and was put on percocet. he got HEAVILY addicted to them just from the surgery. luckily (being a non-drug user) he didnt really connect the opiates to the addiction, and got over the WD once his supply ran out (which was a pretty fat supply i might add)

1mg isnt too terrible but i withdrew from daily 60mgs IV midaz when my only supply ran out.was way worse than heroin.

8o my god im glad you came out alright from that, i cant begin imagine what that was like.

i took 3

well i took 3 1mg kpins within a few hours i felt mildly happy and thats about it. i figured the more you take the higher you got. its a nice calming feeling, but a little too mellow for me since i'm so used to fentanyl. its nice when theres nothing else you can obtain i guess. mild and safe i assume. they dont make me tired, but they dont make me super happy and the euphoria with the hydrocodone, and now that i'm on fentanyl. the hydrocodone doesnt do jack shit its like tylenol or osmething i take 5 at a time of 10 mg and get nothing.

Yes, Klonopin boosts the effects of opiates. I find that benzodiazepines increase the sedative effects of benzos.

and kpins are the easiest to take a bunch and not OD

Not true. In fact it is one of the more potent benzos. Although it is VERY hard to OD on benzos to begin with.

but that withdrawal is a bitch.

Very true. They are a bitch compared to opiates withdrawals. I can handle opiate withdrawals but going cold turkey from benzodiazepines, once dependent upon them, is something you never want to experience. It can be deadly. Benzos are so easy to become addicted to as well.

benzo W/D is awful, thats why you should only take it as needed... most people don't pind clonazepam sedating, i certainly don't.... if you take 1mg once or twice a week AS NEEDED you should steer clear of W/D
I wouldn't say k-pins aren't sedating, though they are certainly less so than most benzos. One my faves for exactly that reason. Which is nice because the sell for half what xanax does (same dose), probably simply due to name recognition. I just left my PO's office so I'm on 2 mgs clonazepam, 10 mgs methadone, and about to light a bowl of some good green=D

i find clonazepam as sedating as tetrazepam or oxazepam... but veryone reacts differently... alprazolam is probably the most sedating "anxiolytic" benzo imo coz it comes up quick and packs quite a punch
I haven't got to sample the range of more exotic benzos you have, but I certainly agree on alprazoplam.

Valium is terrible. It is 1 out of the 2 benzos IME that needs to be mixed or effects are not happening its very weird its almost basically a really good muscle relaxer and thats it. I like klonopin a LOT more because its well nicer, feels subtle, not to sedating, not too spacey. Valium seems to space. Sometimes I've noticed it even gives me headaches but after a ativan valium is very very nice. I Don't like xanax, and what it does, but I want to try it again seeing as how I was on it the longest out of the 3 -4 whatever years of being a benzo dependent/addict

Valium has metabolites which are also therapeutically active - temazepam, oxazepam and desmethyldiazepam - so the overall effect as well as its duration isn't coming from diazepam alone. Klonopin doesn't have that same double effect which might explain why it's more subtle and less "spacey". Their accumulation levels are also different which affects tapering.

Valium only lasts 4 hours. Your feeling the side effects from it after that. Just because of its long half-life doesn't mean it has an incredibly long "initial" duration. Believe me, I was on it the last 4 months. I know BananasAndOranges will agree because I know that he actually takes it.
