Kratom, is it worth it?

Ok so the local headshop carries Kratom extracts (15x). [edit - no prices, thanks - leftwing] So my question...what kind of dose will I get outta a 3 gram 15x extract? My opiate tolerace is rather high so is this even worth it to try this stuff?

Any input is appriciated, thanks.

i just edited out a price in your post because we don't allow price listing outside the price thread here in OD.

my advice to you is to check out erowid for info on kratom as well as searching the forums here too, there are a lot of threads of similar subject here. i personally don't know much about kratom so i cant help you out with anything else sorry. but i do know that a lot of users have reported that with a large tolerance to opiates, kratom is next to useless for them. but that's not to say it won't work for you.

instead of closing your thread i will shift this over to basic drug discussion for you
 
Kratom is quite nice, but if you take too too much, then get prepared to puke...

You will get very very dizzy, and nausous.

I once over did it when I ran out of opiates and I needed to come by the withdrawals and I almost puked....

But taking less amounts, does wonders. Maybe about a teaspoon will do you good. But I would add some lemon and honey because the taste isnt very good at all.
 
eh, if you have access to any other opiates kratom is kinda pointless imo, however i know people that love it.
 
Eh, I have a big tolerance and about 20g gives me a mild buzz - Kratom is something I only take when there are no opiates around or for w/ds. Also the 15x extracts are generally considered to be of about equal strength to regular Kratom - read up on Drugs Forum (if you can get past all the SWIMing); they have a fairly informative forum dedicated to Kratom.

I would say yes. i have not tried it yet myself but my wife has. Keep in mind that when it come to ANYTHING, she is a lightweight. She was having some real bad back pain (Chronic.) so she ask me about this Kratom stuff she did some research on. So i bought some kratom 15x, 30x and 60x so we could see what works best.

Now in low doses kratom acts like an opiate, in higher doses it acts like a stimulant. ( Very euphoric I'm told. why i have not tried this yet idn.)
We first tried a 1/2 gram of 15x, made a tea with, i gave it to her and said "Don't guzzle it" at witch point she sat the glass down empty! I'm like.."OK whatever."

She said her face and HAIR began to tingle, (Her face was a bit redder than normal.) Her speech got a bit slurred, She said she could not "Feel" her legs so i got her to the lazboy and she laid back closed her eyes and had this big smile on her (Red) face for like an hour.
Her back pain was gone though, and so was she!

For her the whole thing lasted about 4 1/2 hrs. In that time she had ask me to "Bring her the bathroom," told me i looked looked a cartoon and when i move my "Cartoon counterpart" stayed behind and than started to catch up using the same path i took.

At one point she was holding her head with both hands and when i questioned this she whispered: "So it don't float to Saturn." among other strange things.

so for you i would say try it. start with a gram and see what happens. you can always go up or down. My story is just a reference point.
Her opiate tolerance is rather high too.%)
 
Leftwing I apologize for putting in prices, I forgot about that, sorry. Thanks for not closing the thread too, the responses have been useful, thanks guys, I guess ill just have to try it and see how it goes. Ill let you all know how it goes on Friday.
 
i would say take the lot if you have a high opiate tolerance. i have 0 opiate tolerance and i took about 1.3 grams of 25x extract and i felt like i needed alot more to get where i wanted. it was still nice though
 
To answer the OP's question...I would say like many others; CONTEXT is key. I have taken 20 -25 grams of regular leaf and found it mildly euphoric. I used to be an opiate user every day and have built a tolerance that will not seem to quit.
I have not used any opiate in years yet my tolerance to kratom makes it "not worth it" financially and spiritually. I prefer a low dose to get a stimulant effect.
I have an opiate naive friend who was introduced to kratom and it was love at first site.
I think kratom is extremely subtle yet profound and the same time.

No question it is a fascinating plant. is it worth the cost...that depends on you! be informed before you purchase! good luck and enjoy!
 
ok so heres wats really up wit da kratom, 20 vicodin does nothin but make me itch. i gotta tolerance, but back when it took 25 500mg acitaminiphin with codine(strong as vicodin) jus 2 get me high for an hour an not very high, the extract does nothing but kratom works. was high for hours cooked it up as tea(low boil!!!) n had myself bout 3 water bottles worth. so it does make ya itchy but not as much as certain opiate meds, HOWEVER, it completely lack the kicking finish you search for in an opiate high. for me it was like watching mild fireworks with no finish at all. i just kept cooking the whole time making more trying to get the high i needed and never got it. i think i mite of rather been sober cuz it was more of a tease than anything. however if ur looking to get through withdrawls it will work well. another trick i discovered to completely ending a heroin withdrawl on the spot is addrenaline. found out on accident(it was natural addrenaline) my very painful withdrawl immediately ceased and stayed fuckin gone.
 
well first off, smoking does boost me of coarse but it makes me feel sick too and with kratom it wasnt giving me the bang i was lookin for, second its nice to kno that bout apap and no i didnt use an extract i just popped em,(cleared my sinus' up) but i did not use the apap version, i find apap useless and theres sumthin rong with it being in there cuz they never used to cut vicodin generics with it before but to stop abuse they added that shit. yea, thats right, they did it to purposely kill people, or deter them.... i dont think they care which 1.
 
I tried it once, can't say if it was worth the price because I got it on a trade, but it was nice. The feeling was more pleasant than the morphine I traded for it, though not as strong of course. Also kinda felt like a benzo without the sedation. Definately would try again.
 
kratom is total crap. shit high and terrible after effects. use the money youd waste on kratom and get some smack from a tramp.
 
wow thats insane, id never trade morphine for kratom lol u got ripped off bad, very bad. an benzos feel much different to me an i think most other people.
