My ears are still ringin right now cause I was atan event and the sound was so fuckin loud there I think I seriously most probably damaged my short term hearing. Anyone else get this?

The event was sick they had the big LED panels and killer soundsytem while I was rollin that shit blew my mind like 4 yellow ferarris I took. When Im rollin I dont even notice how loud the sound is it was chill from like 11-1230

But by 1230 when a dj came on that shit go so fuckin loud everyone was holding there ears cause the frequences would most certainly almost certainly damage hearing. A dj showed up too it was sick.

But my ears are fukin killin me. Anyone else get this after rollin a big rave? Im whereing hedphones next time lol.

This was such an incredible roll It felt like my first time again! (Didnt know thats possible) I cant wait to roll tomorrow at an event. After that Im taking a break until smoke out so I can see deadmau5 again.

but i hope my hearing comes back

Always wear earplugs.....they make "cool" earplugs that glow, or type's that hide if you don't want others see you wear them. If the music is "that" loud you will still hear enough...the MDMA will fill in the rest of the notes you're missing :)

yeh but no matter how many beanz I eat the music still sounds suffy with earplugs in them. Plus people have to scream at me to get me to resopond cause I cant even hear shit.

I also frequent hardcore shows, often I feel like the edm stuff I go to is too quiet. If you go regularly your ears will adjust to it.

my hearing sucks.

We have even put toilet paper in our ears sometimes when we forgot the ear plugs. It makes a big difference and you will thank yourself later on in life

My ears almost always ring for a day or two after I go to a rave; I should wear earplugs but it changes the experience imo.

Disco deafness is a real danger - A lot of people suffer from this condition because of exposure to loud music at Raves/ Events etc.

Earplugs are the only way to avoid this kind of damage - try to stand away from the speakers (even though hugging them feels soooo good). Take breaks from the music etc.

Its so annoying when the music is that loud it hurts your ears :0 - Mind you by your report your rolling way too often so maybe a break will do you good.

Do a google search for "musician ear plugs." I've got some for concerts and stuff and they make a world of difference both for your hearing AND for the actual sound quality of what you hear. They don't muffle the music at all, just take out the ear damaging super lows and highs that sound all garbled in your ear anyway. What you're left with is clear sound that isn't reeking havoc on your ear drums. The nice thing about the ones I have too is it cancels out the noise of the crowd, but if someone is talking directly at me I can still hear what they're saying. Seriously, do your ears a favor and get some.

^ I use these: http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er20.html

When I first pop them in, I really notice the volume drop, but after a little while my mind compensates & the music sounds completely normal and I forget I have them in.

Thats the ones I was thinking about but couldnt find them - thank you.

These are great as they reduce the volume/damage but they dont make the music muffled like some of the cheaper foam plugs.

Well worth giving them a try and they are really cheap :). You would think that some of the LED/Glove companies would realise people want these and do something that flashes or has the LED display around the cord.

if your ears are hurting, the sound guy isnt doing his job. When i used to tech, id be able to put my ears right up against a speaker, no problem. If its squelching out the highs, tell the fucking idiot to do his job

The ringing in the ears is called tinnitus. Loud noises weaken the cells in your ears which causes them to release free radicals that do most of the damage. I got it permanently from going to a Heavy Metal concert and staying close to the stage for 5 hours. The most important thing you want to do right now is take alot of anti-oxidants and try to minimize any further damage to your ears(no headphones or loud car radios!). Visiting an ENT couldn't hurt but from personal experience, there's not much they can do except give you an anti-inflammatory injection and a pat on the back 8).

I took a cocktail of things for a month out of desperation: Ginkgo biloba, cell food, The Hearing Pill, pomegranate juice, and a few injections of anti-inflammatory agents from an ENT. After about 2 months, the ringing went away almost completely. I only hear the ringing late at night if it's dead quiet in my room. I always bring a pair of earplugs to any show I go to now. There's places you can go that make custom earplugs for musicians that block out all the "bad noise" and still let you hear your instrument clearly without damage, but they are pricey.

You'll be alright man. I've been exposed to more loud noises than the average cat (guns, jet engines, helicopters, heavy metal etc.) and I'm doing pretty darn good thankfully. Play safe for now, add alot of anti-oxidant rich foods to your diet and stay away from loud noises for a while if you can help it and you should be back to normal in no time.
