Cannabis To Be Trialed in the Nimbin Valley

This would be international news, so far the only people talking of it are people in nimbin.

Sounds like they are just planning to go ahead with out approval and hopeing they can bring about change.

This ain't happenin'!

The laws are INCREASING and TIGHTENING! Not getting more lax...this ISN'T going to change..

It's good to keep the faith i guess... but come on.

Without faith, nothing will change. Things have to get worse before they get better.

Drugs aren't a huge deal to the generation of teenagers at the moment and one day they will have the power.

I agree things may seem shit now but I honestly believe that things will change within the next 20-30. Kids now are a lot more open minded nowadays.

If this Nimbin thing does go through it's awesome news and a glimmer of hope for all stoners in aus.

Hahahahah, this reminds me of a Simpson's episode where the police sent everyone in town who had an outstanding arrest warrant a winner's letter for a new boat.

Ahh busty %) The even funnier thing was that this did take place for real in many states in America, And many people fell for it lol... ive seen the footage =D

That sounds like entrapment to me. Doubt you could get any prosecution off it.

This is the latest update from Max Stone on the Hemp Embassy Forum:

Back to the topic......

As you would expect, the rumor of the upcoming trial has been sweeping up and down the mainstreet of Nimbin.

The feed back has been overwhelmingly positive.

The sale of single joints to international tourists in a quality controlled environment has drawn much praise, as the officer who suggested it said. "This will reduce the amount of "business' available to the black market significantly."

It is worth adding that a large amount of Nimbin tourists come from countries where cannabis is either legal, decriminalised or in the processes of moving away from prohibition.

Everyone nod's their head in agreement as to how the electronic tax is to be applied. That will make the government happy the most common response.

Most everyone in the real world is wary about the POLICE BOOK aspects of the trial until they realize that that a key ingredient is trust combined with total transparency.

That we are to get cannabis regulation, taxation and control in N.S.W in the future is obvious, there are too many global precedents and indicators for it to be anything but inevitable.

till next

peace

;O)--~

P.S. warmest webgreetings to all the various information gathering agents from all of the various state, federal and international law enforcement agencies. No doubt it is thanks to y'all that this thread has become the number one most read thread in the shortest amount of time in H*E*M*P* forum history................. Whilst I've got your attention............. I gotta say, this one looks like a real winner eh? I mean, y'all have prolly been forced to read every single one of the proposals that thousands- if not millions - of cannabis law reform advocates WANT when the law changes......... This one is simple and workable and ensures that the tax gets paid when the law gets changed and that when the law gets changed the more pot you grow the more tax you contribute to society......... Yep, I've read an awful lot of 'cannabis' proposals in my time and I never seen once this good. From the first time I heard it I've been convinced its a winner fer sure...

Australia and the U.S. don't have anti-entrapment laws.

Back on topic now guys....

They do have laws against the police inducing someone to commit a crime (it is even coming up in the current trial of the suspected terrorist who planned to attack the army base) which this would clearly fall under.

Australia's anti-entrapment laws were scrapped a few years back. This is why the police can now charge people that they have "induced" into breaking the law i.e undercovers selling pills in nightclubs then busting the buyers. This used to be illegal in Australia.

They just don't do that VB.
Its a waste of time. They pretend to be users by getting early 20's undercovers to go into clubs while they're on amphetamines themselves, piercings, tats, "cool" club clothes to try and fool you and they ASK you for drugs to try and bust dealers. This way they get their quota filled with an actual dealer not a bunch of users that will get court/drug diversion. And as soon as one user is busted with one pill sold to them... they can't use that club again ever! So they want to use their short time there to gather information mostly and bust a real dealer. Often they will try and gain trust every weekend until they can get you on a real drug dealing charge then raid your house/unit.

This way they fill a quota with meaningful arrests that will get them promotions in the long term, and maybe they can make more money off the drug dealing gangs when they only report half of the drugs seized when they turn that camera off. Netting more money from the bikies and other gangs.

Its almost always information gathering! All about building up intelligence. Dogs are used for media only to show theyre busting users but to be honest they don't give two shits about a user. Unless they're very new to the force. Most under covers in SE.QLD get free drinks all night at any club they go to to collect information, as the owners like having cops there just in case something they can't control goes down, and they usually know the club is owned by criminals to do criminal activity themselves. Strip clubs are a prime example. Not mentioning any names......

I am going on anecdotal evidence supplied here by Bluelighters since the new laws came into effect. I never claimed to know the ins and outs if the procedure, I was merely pointing out that you can now be the victim of entrapment in Australia.

Have you ever been around here before Tuna? Your style seems really familiar.

Can a mod please split this new discussion off to a new thread? The discussion about the proposed Nimbin Cannabis trial deserves to have it's own thread here.

I think I know you from that Australian board.... if Im thinking of the right person.

I never knew our anti entrapment laws were scrapped! That is fucked up! How is it fair or right for the people enforcing the law to be able to lead you into crime for fucks sake?!

It's all in the how to deal with L.E thread. I'd search it up for you but I have no downloads and just loading this page took about 3 minutes so I'm sure you can all sift through it,

And I have seen people who I would have no doubt were undercover cops at night clubs trying to buy drugs so they could bust people. Perhaps it's a stratergy hoping people will sell out their dealers. But I ain't no fucking snitch ;)
