Best way to identify a drug user?

There have been times when i've wondered about certain people, and if they might have a hookup. Maybe only one third of the time I've been proven right about them, but i've never straight up asked them if they have a hookup. Anyway, what would you say is the best way to identify someone?
 
The only was is to ask, unless you actually see them taking drugs. You cant decide whether someone takes drugs just by looking at them.
 
No one in high school had any idea I did drugs and pretty much everyone that found out was shocked, you really can't judge people like that.

Same here. People are always amazed that im into the drugs :L
 
Haha. These answers didn't surprise me at all. Only a few people I know that do take drugs actually look like druggies. You can't judge a book by it's cover etcetcetc. :D
 
You can only ask, all else is speculation. People will rarely go up to you and introduce themselves as " Hi, my name is X and I take drugs..." (unless they're in NA that is ;)).

It can be almost impossible to spot many of those who use. I was amazed when I found out how many of my family members, who are all very stable, well adjusted people, use or had used drugs at one point.
 
Moody (either really happy or despondent) and typically broke. This stereotype excludes the dealer persona.

i know fancy users, soccer mom-type users, dirty/hood users, nerdy looking users........

sketchy ass thread we got going on here....

For me, if I see someone with kandy, I know lol.
 
Ask what kind of music they like... If they name a bunch of djs you've never heard of then you have a new x hook, if the first artist that comes out of thier mouth is bob marley you might be able to get some weed now, if they talk about jam bands then you have a psychedelic hook, if they look at you with droopy eyes and say "huh" then you have a new heroin connection.


This isn't gonna work 100% of the time, But talking about music is a safe way to gague what kind of drugs a person may be into.
 
Stoners, esp. long term users drag out words (talk like they're perma-stoned). Red eyes, usually munching on fast food ravenously by 4:40.

Coke/pills insufflated ROA: Many use the bathroom too many times...never flush toilet or wash hands yet leave the bathroom noticably relieved even though they have suddenly developed the sniffles.

Pupils are huge or tiny...dark circles under eyes and poor skin tone...possibly acne.

Sudden rapid weight loss and new physical, psychological, and monetary complaints.

Hallucinogens...the pupils and the grin usually give it away.

Opiates...the scratching...

And no, i wouldn't approach or ask anyone i didn't know just for a hookup...but i've used up my one and only 'get out of felony drug charges' chance by successfully completing Drug Court and i wouldn't take any risk of getting caught after that.

You can tell mostly by personality in my opinion, but I agree erratic moods and lack of cash is a big indicator. And if someone has a tattoo it's a pretty dead give-away that they do something. That is unless tey are in the military, but even then you never know.
 
I think most of the younger ppl that smoke cigarettes do drugs as well. I don't know that many people that smoke ciggs, and dont do drugs.... Unless they are old.

Or the guy with the long hair....also me. Or a dead giveaway is pupils, granted said user is currently high. A friend of mine thinks his sister is using oxy, she swore she kicked it a while ago. When I see her, it's obvious as fuck she's high on opiates. Pinned pupils, flushed face, the occasional begin-to-nod-then-catch-yourself, overly happy and bubbly attitude, yeah....high.

Not my place to say anything though, because what if I'm wrong... :|
 
me and my girl can spot a junkie like none other. I assume a lot of fellow junkies have this ability. we Just know What to look for.

for instance Just last night at the motel we saw two people across the parking lot and new they did dope instantly. sure enough we got invited in their room and did a shot!
 
Impossible to tell entirely, especially in regards to people who use occassionally, heavier users are easier to pick. I don't think you have to stereotype people there are just certain signs, obiously how well you know the person and how much time you spend with them impacts on your ability to tell as well.

The more drugs you have used and drug scenes you have been involved in the more drugs you will be able to tell if people are using. Obviously there are people who manage to hide it well, but in my experience no heavy drug users I have known reasonably wells habits didn't seem obvious to me.
