Since this is the dark side thread, i would like to share my personal low. I was on vacation with my family, including my 3 children and my wife. I have a chronic condition in my foot that causes alot of pain so I have been taking oxycodone instant release for 3 years at the time. I believe my script was 30mg. 4x a day. I was taking more and always running out and was starting to realize it was a problem. So I told myself that I was going to start tapering down after vacation. But till then lets enjoy one last time. I snorted 2 30's at once cause it just seemed like I couldnt get high anymore. I was lying on the floor thinking I am going to die. One night I am going to do too much and not wake up. It all sank in at that moment. That is the lowest I have ever felt and how ironic was also the most oxy I had taken at once.

More isn't always better, especially with drugs.

I hope you can use the realisation to help you battle the addiction, if you haven't already. On that note, hows it going, any luck tapering down?

Hope it all works out okay :)

Don't worry, you're not as far down the slope as you think. If 60mg has you nodding you definitely still have a chance to stop, this should be even more motivation to you. Stop now before things get worse and more difficult, think of your family and how they would feel running into a room with you lying on the floor unconscious, thinking about moments like that, tapering shouldn't be a problem. Good luck! I'm sure someone can give you direct instructions about tapering off the oxys such as doses.

I am down to 30mg a day over the course of about 2 months. My doctor helped me with my taper plan and with some rx that arent addicting to help. I have not broken my taper and am almost done. I remember moments like what I decribed and it keeps me from using more than I am supposed to. I have either gotten used to wd's or with my low dose they are tolerable and I have learned to deal with them. I would be lying if I said I dont think about snorting a 30 but all my hard work would be gone. Came to far to go back.

That's so great to hear. Keep it up man. :)

If you're still having any cravings, my advice is to make things a little more interesting and do some new things, find some new books you like, go for a walk to somewhere you've never been, meet new people, travel, explore, learn a new language - just something new and interesting, you'll soon find yourself forgetting about boring old habits when you have plenty of new things to do and learn. Oh and, even if you do already, exercise more, get those endorphins pumping, endorphins are closely related to opiates so with a steady supply they'll help any pain that you're having and help lessen/remove cravings. :)
