How long do you intend to use Ecstasy? Is there a specific time where you will stop?

Just a little curious to what peoples views are on how long they will use Ecstasy for? Surely there will become a point where enoughs enough?

Personally i think its great. I dont know when il stop, i could imagine doing it for another five years. I dont want to waste my happiness though, become etarded. Anyone else got an opinion on this?
 
I think that at some point my use will decrease- right now, I roll about 8x a year, so I consider myself an "MDMA user". I don't think I'll ever say "never again" to it, but certainly a time will come where it's something I do once a year, or even less...

The key is to not abuse it, so you have the choice, rather than being forced to avoid it for health/emotional reasons.
 
I took like 2 ecstacy pills like 20 or so years ago. I'm 43 now. Once I was told that it depleted the spinal fluid. Never touched it again. Now weed, I got a problem letting it go. Peace out.

You do realize that it doesn't deplete spinal fluid, right?

And I'm not sure when / if I'm going to stop, but I know that once I stop raving I'll be using it less... but that's not for at least another 5+ years.
 
Weed isn't a "problem free" drug either- it just has it's own set of issues, perhaps not as alarming as MDMA, but it's not perfect.

I'd advise you to watch "Ecstasy Rising" with Peter Jennings on YouTube- it gives a very unbiased, fact based view of MDMA.

I think every drug has a series of rumors and outright lies about it's effects- MDMA probably has more myths than most. All of the legit research I've seen has indicated that damage from MDMA is real, but reversible in a matter of 1-4 months. There was a research study done on monkeys with crystal methamphetamine, that was presented to the public as being an "ecstacy" stuff that did indicate all sorts of horrible effects. It was later exposed as being a lie- it's featured as well in that Peter Jennings special.
 
Also, for the most in-depth and unbiased information on MDMA's neurotoxicity I recommend reading this. Everything the author writes is backed by scientific studies which he cites on the page.

Great site, he knows his stuff.

I guess I'll use it as long as it is a positive addition to my life. If the experience is no longer enjoyable or beneficial, or my mental health suffers, then I can re-evaluate my decision to use MDMA.
 
I will probably stop once I cant get it anymore which is sadly going to occur shortly

However, Im moving to CA lol. To stock up asap.

I agree. Also i like tbis thread.
 
I went through phase's of "abusing" it I guess you can say, have taking long breaks and it's still my favorite drug that I use every once and a while these days and I'll keep doing that till the day I feel it's time to stop.

I don't tell myself a that I will stop anything at certain age or date because when ever I've done that before it never worked out, for me when it's time to stop anything I'll know.

That makes a lot of sense. I remember someone on this board saying a while back that it's much easier to honor "taking a break" rather than "stopping". I think the idea of stopping sets you up for a fall, whereas there's less expectation with simply taking a break, however long that break may be (some people on this very board are going on 10-20 years, heh).

Yeah I realized as I got got older and been through a lot of partying and what not every time I told myself or my friends that this was my last time or I was gonna stop at the end of summer of or whatever,

It was just me trying to convince myself and everyone else that I was gonna stop, but I realized every time I said that I was just setting myself up for failure.

So instead of telling myself I'm gonna stop whenever, I just do what I want knowing when the time is right I will know.
 
Threads like this are pointless. I said that I would use ecstasy for a few months... 3 years later I finally quit. And even then, I only quit because i'm on probation for two years... so now its methylone and RCs until I'm off probation.
 
If you use it sensibly and sparsely in a way which is not harmful then I see no reason to stop. It's an excellent drug which is ideal for social situations.
Perhaps if the effect was no longer enjoyable or the hangovers unbearable then one might want to stop, but other than that the only reason I can think of is social stigma among older people (perhaps it's only Reagan's generation) and heart risks in old age.
 
I don't think anyone can predict if or when they will stop using Ecstasy, at least not as long as they have the magic or are having a good time. The pleasure return on E is too high.

I suspect anyone who has easy and regular access to the drug will use it on a regular and more frequent basis when they still have have the magic and then slowly taper off when the good effects start to fade and/or the negative effects become too dreadful or long lasting.
 
How long? Good question. :D I've been using MDMA for about 15 years now and it still has all the magic,if not more, now, than it did when i started. :) :)

When i started i knew about it, but i didn't really pay attention to the very real positive emotional benefits i could get from it. Now when i do roll it's a very uplifting and very insightful experience that I take away a lot from. Do it right and it'll treat you well, but remember to call it quits if it does start turning bad. I must have lucked out, but i don't really get any persistent negative side effects from MDMA.
 
I will use for the rest of the forseeable future. I don't abuse it, and I have no reason to stop. I'm in great health and feel great after at least 15 uses.

I want to add however, that I have friends that abuse and will probably NEED to stop at some point. How unfortunate for them...Too many people are, for lack of a better term, STUPID when it comes to MDMA (we all know them). It's a shame.

But cheers to those who respect the substance :)
