Psychadelic trips getting more intense for everyone

the world is becoming more intense in general. Look at the music. Look at the technology. Look at everything really. As ideas evolve. Thoughts evolve and spread to more and more people creating more and more connections. Some people's realities are just tuned into that frequency more because of the addition or lacking of some ideas.

Roger&me if you never believe that something is happening, it will always keep seeming like something isn't. How about changing your thought to belief and see what it brings you?

I think you can find literature from pretty much any time in history that indicates the generation that wrote it thought they were on the cusp of something great and saw signs of it everywhere. It makes life more interesting. Right before the year 1000 the Christian world was certain of the coming rapture. 10 years ago it was 2000, now we only have one big ancient prophesy to check off left, so now it's 2012 or the Singularity.

The truth is, the world today has already become something great. There are less armed conflicts than ever in recorded history. Infant mortality, poverty, and sickness are at their lowest, and worldwide the standard of living and life expectancy is at its highest. But all these indicators of progress have been steadily and predictably improving for decades. What a snore.

Jesus himself made apocalyptic prophesies, claiming that the world would soon end.

The feeling of synchronicity that drives many of you to feel like we are progressing towards some type of teleological end (whether at 2012 or another time), is clearly caused by something neurochemically.
Well yes and no as I agree with most of this. :) 100 years ago for a letter of communication to go from say the Atlantic Ocean cross country to the Pacific it could take weeks on horseback. The space between humans and communication was vast. Now an email can go from one side of the world to the other in seconds. The breakdown of time and space is happening beyond a neurochemical cause. The gap has closed almost in a technological sense that started in the mind (neurochemically).

I like the conversation but try not to solidify any belief systems or total truths based off of what enters mind. :D But discussing any and all is interesting.

It is interesting how say between the 1400's and 1600's technology was almost at a stand still as was real slow going. Then look at the last 20 years. It is almost snowballing. Will this reach an Omega point in 2012? Who knows. The theories are interesting enough though.

But to the original question, tripping when young is easy and can happen a lot. Getting older and having more responsibility causes more anxiety due to an aging nervous system and tripping happens much much less. I'm sure the older folks would agree. But I think all the technological advances that do break down time and space even without a psychedelic make life is more intense.

it's wierd, because as of yesterday I got interested in this. And I noticed this and was going to post on THIS forum about THIS right now. And that was one of the things, i think something, i see it or I hear it. The way I interpreted the timewave theory is this:

In all of the universe things have correlated, been related, this is a duality or same for everything. In the beginning these were far apart, and as we progress along they get closer until timewave zero were its all at once and so close. I think before it reaches zero it may be so close but not same time that we will think something, and see it directly after. Dunno,.

Bump. I never got to read the posts after page 1 until now.

Ive heard some physicists stating that out passage through the galactic center of our galaxy could have some effects on reality. Just like psychedelics similarly alter reality, our minds travel to different reality's on them but our body's remain in the physical world un changed, so we always return to them or appear to never leave them.

All from memory.... Einstein said that gravity can curve space. So when planet like earth sits in space its gravity bends space like a marble on a bed sheet weighing it down in the center....

So imagine that we are all marbles in the bowl of bent space time created by our earths gravity... Nvm I just found the article :D

It’s possible that radiating outwardly from the galactic center are spiral arms of greatly altered gravitational potential. As our solar system moves around the galactic center, it will cyclically enter and exit these spiral arms so that all planets and the Sun experience a simultaneous change in their gravitational potential.

See, the reason we are currently sharing the same planet on the same timeline is because we are all phase-locked onto the same fundamental quantum phase and thus the same primary reality. Our individual instances of reality are bound together because we are collectively stuck at the bottom of the same gravitational potential well, like marbles piled together at the bottom of a depression in a rubber sheet. Incidentally, the portal threshold is the amount of potential required to overcome the potential well of the entire physical universe. If the marbles were elevated beyond the lip of the depression they could escape, and likewise if we experienced a boost in our gravitational potential, our collective reality would dissolve. And that is exactly what would happen if we passed through an sufficiently altered region of spacetime, or if a gravitational potential wave passed through us. I believe this is the key mechanism behind the Shift.

Let’s say that 2012-2032 does involve a cataclysmic alteration of our gravitational potential to the point where everything opens up. Then anything would go, anything is possible, future and past merge into a single moment of eternity, spacetime blows up into infinity, and consciousness is blasted into hyperspace. In the years leading up to this point, reality would simply become more plastic and responsive to our consciousness due to the changed gravitational potential loosening things up, but after that point reality would dissolve entirely. And after being tossed into hyperspace, consciousness would simply phase-lock onto whatever reality befits it. Far from being New Age speculation, this follows directly from a creative application of quantum and relativistic physics.

*facepalm*

No.

I'm sorry bro, but I have to call this out. This is not sound thinking.

First of all-- that article is not science: it is shit.

I don't mean to be harsh, but it is New Age speculation. It's not a "creative application" of anything, its garbage that doesn't even make sense.

The article meshes theories that are completely incompatible; it fails to recognize the staggering differences between the classical, relativistic, and quantum models. It makes statements that have no scientific basis, and speculates about the unknowable.

Worst of all, it slaps down a few random equations to feign scientific legitimacy. Nothing angers me more than that. It confuses people who haven't been trained in a scientific discipline (a decent scientist would NEVER do that, its like heresy) and its just very distasteful.

No serious physicist would continue reading that article past the first paragraph, because it's just so far off-base.

For some reason, the "New Age" movement just loves quantum mechanics-- probably because they enjoy how "bizarre" it seems. Like "oh wow, even science is full of wacky crap nowadays-- maybe we haven't totally lost the plot".

If you're looking for explanations, don't look at science. Seriously. Look somewhere else.

Science just offers working models for purposes of prediction, it has never claimed to do anything else. Especially not something as grandiose as explaining the nature of reality; which cannot even be done within the context of a systematically-provable theory anyways (as espoused by Godel in his second incompleteness theorem).

I'm sorry if I came off as harsh, I mean no ill-will.

But that article should be taken off the internet, seriously. And the person who wrote it should be flogged with their own copy of the Mayan calender. Science has NOTHING to say about any New Age ideas, nor will it ever have anything to say about those ideas.

I agree with anything roger said about pseudoscience and the fascination new age types have with high end physics. Well put too.

But I do object to dragging Goedel into this. (His work is about the capabilities of certain types of axiom system, nothing else. Let's leave it at that) ((:

I will indeed leave it at that. :) However, to justify what I said: I read some commentary by Stephen Hawking a while back where he deferred to Godel's second incompleteness theorem as his basis for believing that a complete "theory of everything" is not possible to formulate-- because a TOE is exactly that, an axiom system. However, I'm just a lowly chemistry undergraduate student-- I'm certainly not an expert in mathematics or theoretical physics, so don't take my word for it. But if I can locate Hawking's exposition on the matter I will certainly post it here. :)

Do you possibly think it's just because you believe in 2012 and you believe death is near that it can make your trips more intense? I don't remember hearing about psychedelic trips getting crazier before 2000 was here. Or 6/6/06?

It's very interesting you say this, I noticed something similar as of late. My tolerance to 2C-E is growing, and yet sometimes I've been taking half or less of my normal dose and getting the same intensity - just 1-3 days after my last trip. Very very strange indeed. Also I agree, they seem to be extraordinarily meaningful.

However I'm not sure you got your facts right on the Time Wave Zero thing. It's not "starting" as such - it's just in the "last phase" of the original graph. However the latest (1998 I believe) Time Wave Zero graph actually ends in 2054 or so, rather than 2012 - so I'm not sure which date McKenna eventually decided on.

Either way I do believe 2012 will be an interesting year for psychedelics, so many people are going to be disappointed when we're still alive come January 2013 though.

Yes excuse my curiosity because of my insanity. I was the one who invented the whole 2012 thing. I started the rumor 3,600 years ago forging Mayan petroglyphs and scattering them around the Sacred city while Quatzequatel wasn't looking. Oh I mean the giant half dragon half bird half man... Yes 3 halves

Sorry about including that article, I didn't know it was SOOO scientifically inaccurate.

I don't believe I/we are coming closer to death. I thought if the date holds any significant events, that that could be a possibility, however it is low on the list of expected outcomes. I don't believe in the 2012 apocalypse theory.

An expansion of consciousness. A new understanding of reality and an increased awareness of it. I'm not even saying that existence or life as we know it, the world and the universe are going to transform. Just that our perception of it will, which will open up new doors of opportunity. We will discover how powerful our awareness of reality is, and this discovery will lead to change. Anythings possible if you can imagine it ;)

It will be like going from thinking the world is flat, to knowing its a sphere orbiting the sun in a solar system which is part of a galaxy which is just one in an infinite amount of galaxy's. Its not like anything changed we just understand it now. Thats how we went from thinking we'd fall off the edge of the earth if we sailed to far, to walking on the moon.

Roger, you remind me of my older brother (that was killed in 1989 by a drunk driver) as he graduated Syracuse University with honor degrees in Chemical Engineering. Was big on math. I have all his leftover Godel literature that I might have to dig out and revisit. He too was angered by bad science but he also loved philosophical discussions of life and spirit and psychedelics. We've had many of great conversations and he had admitted as much as he loved chemistry and math it was the mystery of spirit that he found as fascinating. As long as it stayed in the philosophical area and no one was trying to sell it as science. So don't call yourself a lowly chemistry undergraduate. :D You are so far above that definition. Oh and my brother (as am I ) was/is a big Dead Head in the 70's-80's. He started me out with cassettes of live shows right after the 77 Englishtown shows that he was at. I've been one ever since.;) And as far as his occupation after graduating he declined any offers to work for oil companies and decided to take less money testing soil and making sure big corporations were not dumping toxins where they shouldn't be. It was a noble career.

Speaking of Hawking I was watching a show on a science channel about how Hawking and Susskind were making physics into a sport of "who's righter" on some information paradox. Very funny watching physicists. I also met a lot of cool people like that when I did visit Syracuse University for Dead shows.

I read that page above about the aliens. 8) I am still astounded that someone could post info like that with a straight face. That will be the day I believe an alien that I can't see is keeping me down. I've always known the power is within us. Tell it to go away if that's the case.

2012? I for sure see information exchange speeding up. That in turn will speed up certain growth for us as humans. I see something for sure but I'm not sure I can buy into anyone solidifying that into a whole package as science either. But with message boards like this we can talk about these things, where as back in the 1800's all we had to talk to was our drunken neighbor on the farm next to us. Things were slow then. :) The 2012 discussions I do find very interesting but only as discussion. I do appreciate all the ideas though.
