I had to make a new account because I have not been on the forums in a LONG LONG time. I do not have the email anymore of the old account so I cannot do a password recovery. (the email account was one where if you did not login to it for 6 weeks it was deleted, so I am a newb again, and I have not been here for 3 years anyway so I am sure there is a lot to learn about new things).

Anyway, I have gotten a caring doctor again, after losing my old one then being stuck with a ball busting evil SOB for two years who barely kept me functioning and able to get out of the bed he was so stingy. I HATE doctors like him but I was stuck due to insurance and other issues, I am so glad that is finally over!

I could hug my new doctor! Her attitude is basically I have been a chronic patient so long she will give me whatever I want (with rational limits of course). No joking around.

So WHAT SHOULD I WANT?

1) I can choose between Opana ER, Oxycontin ER, Morphine SR for once in morning once at night.

2)
Then for breakthrough - Hydromorphone IR, Oxycodone IR, or Morphine IR to take one to two times a day.

I need pain relief, but I certainly do not object to something that will make me feel good along with reducing my pain. ;)

So if I choose one of the medicines from list number 1, and one of the medicines from list number 2 - what is the best combo?

What is the best combo for ultimate pain relief? What is best combo (one of each list) for euphoria?

I was leaning towards Opana ER twice daily and then Morphine IR for breakthrough. I would get 60 of each. Is this the best combo? I have never had Opana before and hear it is good - like SUPERCHARGED Oxycontin. It seemed like Opana ER and plain old Morphine IR would be great.

Thoughts? Is that the best??? I cannot tell you the joy I feel at having a good doctor again!! She is so young too, she will probably practice longer than I live so there will be no reason to switch again. I cannot tell you HOW HORRIBLE it is to have a BAD and STINGY pain doctor who will not LISTEN to you.

I thank G-d for this new doctor. (She is even cute! I think I am in love LOL).

**Disclaimer - I do not shoot up medicine or "plug" (gross!!) or snort. I take my medicine AS PRESCRIBED. Sometimes maybe I will save up so I have a few extra pills to take on the weekend to get a buzz, but that is it.

So this question really is what is the best combo for oral intake only, just swallowing the pill, no funny business.

Actually this should have probably been posted in "other drug discussion."

Can someone move it there?

depends on the doses but the most powerfull are oxymorphne, and hydromorphone
Those would be my choices also, but remember the guy is eating his pills. I'd say straight oxycontin/codone for him. Which does seem like the waste of the opportunity of a lifetime, but that kinda limits him to stuff with good oral bioavailability, and oxymorphone, hydromorphone, and morphine don't. But without knowing the doses of each it's really impossible to say.

I certainly wouldn't go with morphine for breakthrough pain, usually they are like 15 mgs for that, which is not gonna do shit orally for someone with opiate tolerance

Would you possibly share what conditions you are getting these meds for? I am very interested and I also have chronic pain. If not I understand.

If you are just using orally I would go for Oxycontin and Roxicodone for breathrough....if you want to have fun sometimes I would go for the Opana and Dilaudid for breakthrough.

OP, as an opioid man myself, I definitely understand wanting the high. If you have pain though, I'd strongly reccomend the medication that gives you the least euphoria while controlling your pain. The reason being, it would help prevent tolerance to the analgesic effect long-term while not tempting you to increase dosage chasing a diminishing high. It sucks, but IME it's intelligent to self-limit when you need long-term pain management.

I would try Opana... also pain clinics have a card that make it cost only 5 dollars for a year... Also it works great for pain. I WISH I could get my dr to script it to me... ALSO it makes for a great occasional buzz!

Also for BT pain meds you could get Roxicodone (Oxy IR) 15's or 30's... they make for a nice weekend buzz as well!!

OKAY I WILL RESPOND WITH THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO GETTING CHRONIC PAIN TREATMENT - HOPEFULLY YOU CAN SEE THIS IS THE ULTIMATE HARM REDUCTION POST, MAYBE IT SHOULD BE STICKIED LOL (I am not going to tell you what I decided or what conditions I have as I enjoy my anonymity)

However if you want to do this I have some advice:

1) BE OVER 26 years OLD. If you are a KID you will NEVER NEVER get pain meds other than maybe 5/500 vicodins which are crap. So grow older.

2) Don't look like a scumbag. If you look like a junkie you will be treated like one. Cover all tattoos remove all piercings or better yet don't get them to begin with. If you look like a lawyer or doctor your odds of getting scripted just increased like 30% based on appearance alone.

3) Most important have SOMETHING legitimate. It does not have to be the worst accident of all time, but at least have surgery once or something. After you have at least had surgery once just tell them you have nerve damage and the pain won't ever stop.

4) Be PATIENT work your way up. DO NOT WALK IN ASKING FOR 300mg MORPHINE DAILY. Ask for Percocet 5/500 and work your way up OVER THE YEARS, build a medical history of chronic pain treatments.

5) Keep it together - be ready at any time for a urine test or a pill count if you screw these things up enough you will be kicked OUT and lose everything you worked for.

Follow these laws grasshoppper and as long as you are not a kid you have a free pass to CANDYLAND.

Maybe you can understand why I will not abuse my medicine now other than saving up extras and popping alot of pills on a Saturday.

Look you may say - shit this is too much work its not worth it, well you are wrong!! This has major benefits:

1) EVERYTHING YOU DO IS LEGAL AND YOU CAN NEVER GO TO JAIL.

2) YOU NEVER DEAL WITH CRIMINALS YOU NEVER GET RIPPED OFF.

3) YOU SAVE INCREDIBLE AMOUNTS OF MONEY! 90 60MG OXYCONTIN AND 120 8MG DILAUDID FOR $30 BUCKS A MONTH FOR ALL OF IT? YEP!!! (not to mention it is worth about $4,000 a month street value minimum, this is just an example).

4) YOUR MEDICINE IS ALWAYS SAFE AND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TAKING GREATLY EXTENDING YOUR LIFESPAN AND REDUCING YOUR CHANCE OF OVERDOSE.

REALLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT LIVING AN OPIATE LIFESTYLE OR NEED THEM LONGTERM FOR WHATEVER REASON - I THINK IT IS ALMOST LESS RISK FOR JUNKIES TO DO SOMETHING TO THEMSELVES THAT MAKES THEM HAVE SURGERY THEN BUILD UP A CHRONIC PAIN MEDICAL BACKGROUND OVER THE YEARS THAN BEING A STREET JUNKIE.

I WAS UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE SEVERE PROBLEMS AND DID NOT CHOOSE THIS - BUT IF YOU DO CHOOSE THIS - GOING WITH A CHRONIC PAIN DOCTOR LEGALLY IS THE ONLY WAY IMHO!!

you just have to be functioning, have some self contrl and not slip up or be an idiot. Having a legitimate issue is also required - I still think most heroin junkies would be better off actually hurting themsleves to get surgery and chronic pain treatment than living on the street and being poor bums!!

Im 21 and I got Morphine IR, MS Contin & Lyrica...

Nah don't tell ur doc you got nerve pain or he's gonna switch you to Lyrica ( prebagaline) and you won't get any analgesic effect with that crap.

I'm covered in tattoos and I get 150 roxicodone and fentanyl patches.. but im about to change that cause I don't like the fent which leaves me with OxyContin and Opana basically. I've already tried Morphine and it sucks. I also don't go into my dr's office in 100degree heat to cover my tattoos from her considering she might think im trying to cover track marks... this post is retarded. Next.

I would love to do a study.

We randomly select an average conservative pain doc.

You send in a guy with minimal records with no college background, covered in tattoos, piercings, hasn't bathed, is about 22 years old and tells the doc he needs 300mg morphine.

I'll send in someone in a suit, well groomed, professional looking about 38-45 years old, also minimal records asking for the same meds.

In most cases #2 is going to get prescribed and #1 is not.

Now GOOD RECORDS trump everything!

So if you have had 6 back surgeries and you are 22 and a bum, you are going to get whatever you want.

I was trying to help the people who PM'ed me asking for how to get a doctor script who had minimal records, and tried to give my best advice after being a chronic pain patient for a decade. I know I am right,

However there is a CAVEAT - your medical record trumps EVERYTHING - so if you have a strong enough medical history proving multiple pain issues, surgeries, etc. etc. it won't matter how old you are or what you look like. If you don't have a medical record, how you "present" as doctors describe it could make a big difference in you getting scripted or not.

Anyway I am happy to have found a doctor again is who is relaxed and is caring and she will treat me with whatever I need.

There are a LOT of pain doctors out there who will only give the bare minimum, and make you suffer, I have met others who will not even prescribe schedule II - no matter what!

Its sad that it is so hard for legitimate patients to get treatment.

If you find a good doctor hold on to her/him.
