I know I'm new around here and stuff, but this question is a little fucking retarded for my taste. It's called American History, "The Prohibition", Al Capone and the rise of organized crime?! Not to mention that Prohibition as it is known state-side was not isolated locally. Many nations around the civilized world experimented with the idea of banning alcohol, with obviously poor results.
And come on people let's not kid ourselves. History... Again. During the civil war morphine and alcohol were duking it out for title of The great American scourge. Granted most addiction was born of the need for long term pain relief for the Union and Confederate soldiers. And in the early part of the 20th century opium and opium based "medicines" were still 100% percent legal here in the states and in many other places. Still though, alcoholism never missed a beat, even at a time when syringes and product could both be ordered from a Sears catalog. To face the facts, people will probably always give alcohol their unconditional love, even though it is one of the shittiest to deal with for myriad reasons. Speaking of which everybody been watching Mad Men????
Anyway my point. Yes alcohol would most definitely been sold "on the street", or in clubs or whatever just like it was back in the day. Its pretty simple business even if you are historically illiterate, there's still demand why would someone not step up to supply right?
