i have just ben prescribed oral ketamine(if you are thinking no you are not go do some research on ketamine for insomnia) and was wondering what kind of effects i will be experiencing at about 50 to 100 mg? I'm now big on tripping out to much but just enough so how much should i take it that is not enough?

50-100 mg would be considered a light oral dose, so you will feel the early effects of the grud, but you probably wont trip

just out of curiosity, what do you have that gets you prescribed oral K? my understanding was it was only used in humans for anasthetic purposes

yeah dude u need to elaborate (please!)on what exactly it is that u have that they wont Rx the more common - downers, antipsychotics, or serotogenics. What country may ask is this practice of rxing ket going on in and is this an off label use for the pill or is this the new thing cuz this sounds pretty sweet. I'm wondering if one could extract/purify the K from the pills;)

BTW ketamine IME has some stimulating properties and one if it's listed side fx is insomnia, so how the fuck u get an rx, what is the brand name and what is the official use for this brand???

are you fucking serious? ketamine for insomnia? can i has?
when the fuck were ket pills made?

Dude, ketamine comes in heaps of forms. But yeah, why for insomnia? It doesn't have any hypnotic effects really; I'm gonna call bullshit on this, simply because there is no reason a strong dissociative would be prescribed in this way.

yeah it doesnt make sense at all. Norketamine is said to be SOMEWHAT sedating COMPARED to ketamine but melatonin, a simple glass of wine or some sleepytime tea would b way more effective. the onlything i understand oral K to be used for is maybe some pain mgmt. What kinda wacked out (but cool as hell)doc did u have the good fortune of meeting. If he's giving Rxs of K for insomnia maybe you could get some Ergotrate for depression or something lol, i've been wanting to try that shit for a while. See if he'll give you some Dronabinol to go along with the K, Dronabinol would b a far better sleep aid than K would

I've heard of liquid ketamine nasal sprays being prescribed for depression (in the US, I think) when nothing else has worked but only extremely rarely. Other than that only known it used for trauma injuries (car accidents and the like) and as an anaesthetic during operations - particularly in the very young and very old due to its safety profile. Makes no sense at all for insomnia cos it's somewhat stimulating and short-acting. Very odd... but either way, 50-100mg orally is unlikely to be enough to feel much of anything.

ketamine is NOT prescribed for insomnia (at least not in the usa). as a matter of fact, it isn't really prescribed at all.....sure if you're in the ER and are having a small procedure done they might give you a light dose...just as the oral surgeon might use ketamine for removing wisdom teeth....but i've never once heard or ever read about someone getting ketamine prescribed in a "take home" fashion (accept for the topical ointment for nerve pain...but that very low dose).

not to mention, ketamine in small doses has the opposite effect that a sedative would have. it increases BP and heart rate.

I've heard of it being used as an anaesthetic for operations in children, but never prescribed in 100mg pills! Are you sure he was a real doctor :)

^LOL "why do they keep giving me weird looks at the pharmacy, why wont the fill my Rx, why is it written n crayon" LOL!

he's saying it CAUSES insomnia

Oh so you're saying that he's saying that he has a perscripion FOR insomnia meaning he's try acquire insomnia medically

Ah yes, that makes perfect sense. I like medications to induce pain; thats just me though ;)

Ketamine would be one of the most farfetched cures for insomnia. Similar to Michael Jackson using propofol and lidocaine (why lidocaine??) to get some sleep. In effect: bullshit.

I would wonder if the OP is maybe mixing this up with another medication....

I want to be prescribed ketamine!

We should all make up some disease. Like ADD. How about... Adult Reality Surplus Disorder. It makes people act like the real world is real too much, and makes them forget the natural existentialism and dissociation that should be present in everyone. And the treatment is ketamine. Cheap prescriptions of ketamine.

Ketamine is prescribed in the UK, I didn't know this until recently but I found a UK pharmacy that stocks it if you have a prescription. However I'm not sure exactly what it's prescribed for, whether it's insomnia, depression, pain relief, or something else entirely.

I can't find any information about it being used to treat insomnia though so this sounds a little odd.

As for general info about it, Ketamine is euphoric but only mildly so in my experience, the real fun comes from the trippyness and the insights you gain at higher doses. When taking it nasally I find that 25-75mg equates to a light, happy, inebriated feeling, over 75 and under 200mg tends to be intense but controllable, and over 250mg (or a bit higher if you have a tolerance) usually leads to a "K hole", a state where you are disconnected from reality and are free to experience "other worlds" and out of body experiences.

With oral you need 2-3x as much as nasal for the same effects however the experience also lasts 2-3 times as long. There is often some nausea with oral (this happens with nasal too but with oral it seems to be more severe) so I'd advise not eating for a few hours before dosing.

Hope this helps :)
