Prior to this I was experienced with cannabis, alcohol, cocaine, methylone, piperazines, dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, codeine, mephedrone, diazepam and zopiclone, among others. JWH-018, however, is one substance I would recommend to none.

I began the day completely sober, and was offered "Bonzai", a herbal headshop blend which contains (a lot of) JWH-018 according to many sources. This was my second time experimenting with this product, and though I did not particularly enjoy it the first time, I did not expect such an adverse response. I smoked roughly half a gram of the substance at once in a waterfall. I did not expect to react in what I can only describe as a seizure.

Within two minutes I began to feel extremely disoriented and "stoned", and in less than ten minutes the experience became progressively unpleasant. Confused, I walked to a bus stop intending to head home. I sat on the bench, at which point my arms and legs began shaking. I struggled to stand up to take change out of my pocket, before realising I was unable to move my hands in such a manner to unzip the pocket. My legs then gave out and I fell back onto the bench, hitting my head off the glass backing. At this point the shaking was uncontrollable. Within moments, I was convulsing uncontrollably and hit my head repeatedly off the glass behind me. I was then unable to open my eyes, and fell to the ground, hitting my head again off the bench.

On the ground, I was convulsing uncontrollably and hitting my head repeatedly. One could define the ensuing experience as tripping, though I had no vision. I believe I was in a state of semi-conciousness; I could hear the voices of everyone around me throughout, but could not control any of my senses. My thought patterns became very repeditive, hearing the same shouted phrases over and over, unable to respond. I seemed to be spiraling down to hell and saw a nondescript spinning CEV pattern, both probably due to my rolling around. A friend rang an ambulance.

I was still unable to control the convulsions or even open my eyes; all I could feel was my body unwillingly rolling around to a painful extent, which gave me the impression I had received permanent brain damage. I kept hearing the same shouted phrases in repedition, in my state of mind they seemed to be taunting me. After a short period of time which seemed an eternity, the voices began to fade. There was nothing but silence and darkness, I had stopped convulsing and believed I was dying. However, this phase of darkness seemed to end as soon as it had begun, and I was back to convulsions and hearing the same repeated shouts. I would have given anything at that point to return to the peaceful silence and die.

After what seemed like an eternity, the ambulance arrived, oddly along with a fire engine and squad car. The ambulance crew lifted me to my feet, and I was once again able to open my eyes, though my vision was heavily distorted. Once in the ambulance, I sat down and once again my arms and legs began convulsing, though much more mildly. I was put on an oxygen mask, which I then realised I desperately needed. Upon arrival at the hospital, I was amazed to be able to walk unassisted.

I was admitted to hospital at roughly 6pm, and must have smoked the substance around 4 or 5.

By now, the worst of the experience had ended. My heart rate upon admission to A&E was in the range of 160-200bpm, and took roughly ten hours to return to normal. My vision took at least eight hours to normalise. The convulsions lessened slowly over the hours, eventually coming to a stop, though for reasons beyond my understanding I was never given benzos, or anything else for that matter.

I left the hospital sixteen hours after admission, having had blood and urine tests, a lung xray and being put on a drip. Other than extreme physical exhaustion, having had less than an hour's sleep the whole night, I was feeling alright.

Following this experience, I don't appear to have any adverse effects. I have been experiencing mild headaches and pressure in my head, though I can't distinguish whether this is from the drug itself or the multiple blows to my head.

This occurred several months ago, and this is one research chemical I won't be trying again.

018 has definitely inspired some of the more dramatic thread titles I've seen recently. Hopefully, they will serve to make people more cautious when smoking. I'm glad to hear that you're ok. 018 is not one to be underestimated.

Thank you for the excellent description of the event. I was wondering if you would share what the doctors had to tell you when you came out of it. Did they say if you had a seizure? Did you mention what you had smoked?

The doctors couldn't really tell me much; by the time I was in the hospital I was in a much better state, albeit my limbs were still shaking badly and my vision was still obscured.
It may not have been an actual seizure but the convulsions were very bad for the first few hours. I was quite worried getting an IV with my arms flailing around the place. 8)
I did mention what I'd smoked. I was the tenth person in A&E that night from legal highs, but I think most of the others just overreacted to heart palpitations on mephedrone or JWH.

You smoked 500mg in one hit and you wonder why you had such a bad reaction?

No offence, but that was a highly spasticated move on your part, and you deserved everything that happened to you.

The substance wasn't pure JWH-018, but it was quite potent. I know people that have smoked several times this amount.

If they've smoked several times that amount, they must have built up one hell of a tolerance. I have been smoking JWH-018 for about 7 months now. Usually when I wake up I have a few small hits (I just dip the end of a nail file in), and then a maybe 3 hits every 2 hours or so, just to maintain that nice "buzz" feeling.

Well, to get started, I'm a 30 year old female. I've been smoking bud since I was maybe 15, more heavily probably the last 4 years or so. The first time I tried it, my dose was a little large. Hit me pretty quickly. Nothing panicky or scary about it, just felt like my ass was glued to the chair. I was so thirsty, yet to lazy to get up and get a drink. I didn't even want to reach across the table. I was soooooo relaxed. Full body buzz. Nice. It started to wear off after approximately 20-30 minutes. It wasn't a bad experience, except for the part where it felt like I was chewing on cotton balls.:)

Just recently got some of the JWH-073. This is actually pretty good too, it just seems that you need to use a lot more to get a decent effect. The first time I tried this, I took 3 hits. Nothing. 3 more hits. Nothing. Just one more. Holy shit! Again, no panic or anxious feelings (you could tell they were right there though), more of a Salvia high, just not as intense, no paranoia. It was actually pretty nice, very relaxing. This just seems like a waste since you have to use more of it to get a nice buzz.

I've read good things about JWH-200. Not as metallic, more of a warm, all-over buzz. So, hoping to try that in the next couple weeks. Anyone have any stories involving the 200 they want to share?

I made the mistake of eating an unknown amount of jwh-018 when i believed it was actually 'herbal' etc etc. I also had the bizarre thought repetitions but also other loops, such as not being able to stop looping my tongue around my lips constantly. I didn't seizure or anything tho, and about 4 hours into the trip i suddenly got massive euphoria and nearly cried. I think it was mainly because I was finally coming down after 4hs of fucking hell.

He's talking about a smoking blend. These are plant matter (or other?) infused with JWH (etc). (OP, please correct me if I'm wrong.) As much as I disliked my (pure) JWH-073 experience, I think these smoking blends are potentially much worse since many of them seem to be inconsistent with the JWH distribution. I'm guessing that what you smoked just happened to have a far higher JWH density than average for that smoke blend.

Makes me happy that I dumped my JWH-073 in the toilet after one too many scary experiences.

Glad you're ok and thanks for sharing this!

Please change the thread title. The OP did not ingest JWH-018, he ingested something called "Bonsai". Unless there's some lab results showing that it contains JWH-018 and JWH-018 alone, I don't think it's fair to label this a JWH-018 experience.

It definitely contains some form of JWH, and JWH-018 returns the most relevant results in any search for "bonzai".

What do you mean 'definitely'? What evidence are you basing this claim on?

"I smoked a large, unknown quantity of a substance that I had no idea what may or may not have been in it, must be jwh-018's fault!". Nice.

The fact that all smoking blends prior to a recent ban contained JWH substances, and I've since smoked a small amount of JWH-018 to clarify this was in "Bonzai". I'm quite certain it was the same substance.

I'm extremely wary of all these JWH- and CP-type full agonist cannabinoids. Since THC, a partial agonist, has been shown to decrease GABA neurotransmission, these full agonists could interrupt GABA signalling to the point that you can have seizures or convulsions.

Not safe!

Why would you experiment with a drug you've hardly ever done in public? That wasn't a very smart move. Be more responsible than that please. I can understand if you were experienced with the drug, and you knew you could handle the dosage you were taking within public environments; that would be acceptable, but to take an experimental drug you've barely had a taste of around strangers is absurd! Don't do it again...

I know all of the people I was with, some of them quite well. Most of them were smoking it too.

It doesn't even matter though...

Like you said; there were other people in A&E from legal highs. It won't be legal forever anyways, so I'm sorry for being as rude as I was. I'm glad you're alright. Seizures/convulsions really do suck.

It's no longer legal. Unlike cathinones, I doubt there will still be a market for it.
