Mushroom season 2010

Did she get an effect the first time?

One of my lady friend is unfortunate to be *resistant* to shrooms. I had 2.5g of some nice cubes in tea and I was nicely tripping. She had the same dose and got nothing. The human body is a strange thing :/

Yeah she got the same effects from the first lot as I did, and so did one other friend. 5 caps was around 2.5g of mushie dust. So 8 would be about 4g.

did she swallow the shrooms at the end of the tea?
if not, maybe the tea wasn't prepared properly.
or maybe the fungus in your tea was seemingly more potent then hers..
i know they can vary in strength.
up her dose a little bit next time.. cubies are noticeably weak compared to subs, right?..
sometimes people don't notice many of the effects from a smaller dose, then other times it can take a hold of one nicely.. it can be pretty random like that.
good luck to her!

on another note:
WE NEED MORE RAINFALL >_<
so far the season has proven to be pretty successful, but the forests just seem to remain empty unless it has been raining for a solid few days.

Okay shroomers. I`m from Tas originally where shrooms are plentiful- to say the least but they don`t grow out of cowshit. Up here in SE QLD they do and are the cubensis (i think) as opposed to cyansens. So yeah heaps of rain and well looks like i`m off for a lookee see. This is farmland but there are Shlenti of paddocks and Fuck all farmers. I will take a camera and let you know how i go. Boo Ya!
Missed this post I see ... How'd you go mate? No luck I'm guessing.
The Cubensis are common around SE Queensland yes but the problem is you've picked a lousy time of year to look for them as they are a Warm Season mushroom ;) Very unlikely you will find any in winter although there may still be a few late bloomers somewhere you'd have to be extremely lucky. Try again around Mid-Spring when the weather starts to warm up again. The warm weather + rain + cow paddocks = Cubes ... No worries. %)

Cheers and happy hunting for all those fun guyz down South. =D

She consumed them powdered in caps. I made a tea (not with boiling water) and consumed the powder at the bottom. Wrecked my shit ;)

She might be trying 3.5g this weekend.

I will have to go on the hunt again.. I get excited when I see wet mulch now.. mm

Found a few of these up towards the mountains north east from Melbourne around 1.5 - 2 months ago. Unfortunately the effect was nothing more than a queasy feeling for a few hours.

These other guys were spotted a week ago in the northern suburbs of Melbourne...

Hey guys, just went out for a hunt in the mountains again yesterday. searched for at least an hour at the usually spots (and some unexplored areas) and found but one lonesome sub - needless to say it was one ginormous mofo =D.

It has been really cold in Canberra and the surrounding regions lately and we have been getting frost every other morning; Also it has been raining a bit over the last week. When i got in the mountains it was quite wet and muddy.

I was wondering if the mushroom season in my area has ended? or maybe just the weather hasn't been ideal?

Any comments welcome haha :)

The season hasn't ended in your area, but it is now past it's peak

The subs start to disappear as the nights get really cold

You should still see a few around, just not in large amounts

I had some good finds in the mountains west of Melb today. The subs that were out in the open have been ruined by the frosts, but there were plenty of good specimens sheltered under bracken ferns :)

I was wondering why i'm seeing most of my finds in amongst the bracken ferns, whereas only a few weeks ago, out bush, they were not only limited to just the ferns, they were nice and spread out everywhere.

Sorry with a newb kind of question, I have only a few experiences with finding these guys, but quite a few with consumption=D

i got these 2 lists from different links and i'm just wondering what the most common of these variates would be in Victoria atm? eastern melbourne specifically... From the pictures i've seen i'm pretty sure i've came across the P semilanceata and not the subs.... but it was a while ago and i'm not sure. I would like to go have a look in my area within a week or so... it rained for a few hours last night, and hopefully more tonight.

Anyway i'd really appreciate any advise:)

Psilocybe semilanceata
Psilocybe subaeruginosa
Panaeolus ater
Gymnopilus purpuratus

Gymnopilus sp.
Gymnopilus purpuratus
Panaeolus cinctulus
Psilocybe semilanceata
Psilocybe subaeruginosa

^^^^ hey cheers mate, just doing a bit of reading and looking at some nice pics. they're very cute little shrooms indeed.. i'll have to find out which ones i was picking a few years ago by the pine trees... i still think they were the P semilanceata, but won't know until i speak to my mate.

I have unapproved a few posts for HR purposes

This is not the place to talk about drug combination's

Mushrooms are unpredictable enough without throwing other chemicals into the mix

A combo that synergizes well for you, may not be as enjoyable for others

Although it's not impossible, I doubt they were P. semilanceata

They'd just be P. subaeruginosa which can be prolific in pine forests. The high acidity of pine needles isn't the best environment for this species and on average, pine subs are a fair bit weaker than those from eucalyptus forests and garden beds.
