2C-I transferring to kittens via sweat

So I was tripping on 2C-I with a buddy at his house. His cat has 6-week old kittens (awwwww) but after we dosed he warned me against petting them too much? Because some of the 2C-I might metabolize out and get into our sweat, and then transfer to the kitten (via their skin, or via their licks).

They said that it happens with opiates and amphetamines, so do we actually think this happens with the 2C series (or psychedelics in general)?

And the general idea is that dosing a child (or any species) is irresponsible. I guess to test this theory I should take 20mg of 2C-I and cover myself with cats and see if they trip.

I think it's probably pretty unlikely that you would be able to dose his kittens simply due to some light petting.

Be sure to get all sweaty before you cover yourself with the kittens. Maybe chase them around for a while beforehand.

Does any one else's cat react strangely to them while they're tripping? I've had mine run away from me sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't react weirdly.

Sounds like some sort of thought he had on 2C-I and has managed to convince himself from it.

Animals are pretty perceptive of body language. If they're acting strange around people tripping its because they can tell something strange is going on.

As far as I know almost no drugs are excreted through the skin in any significant quantity, and even if it was it's extremely doubtful the animal could absorb any of it.

I've heard people say stuff like this before, its so illogical it makes me cringe. props to you for being skeptical

I have certainly had this. I think it comes down to what you're emitting emotionally/energetically/in your body language. When I first started tripping I would have really intense trips, and have a hard time socially. At these times, dogs and cats, including my own, would stay the fuck away from me and look at me suspiciously from their hiding places.

Since I got more experienced and feel comfortable while tripping, they're very social with me. I definitely feel that it is far easier to open up channels of communication with them.

Something really weird happened once. Have you ever had a contact high or given one to people you were with when tripping who weren't tripping? Well I have plenty of times with people, or received them from people, but I can only conclude this also happened with my cat. I was having my +4 trip from AMT and 4-AcO-DMT. I felt like I was channeling the god-energy and it was at the moments right before the peak where a lot of things were clicking into place at that moment that seemed to be telling me that I needed to change my path with drugs or end up in very bad places. Anyway, the point is that I went downstairs because my cat was yowling and making terrible noises. I went down and he ran up to me and started FREAKING OUT, like nothing I've ever seen. He was going through a ~2 second process of nuzzling my leg really hard and ramming his face into the floor and then jumping in the air and spinning like he was possessed, while shrieking like a banshee, at the wall. This went on in a recurring loop for about 15 minutes while I tried to calm him, to no avail. I was really scared because I thought that he had somehow gotten into my chems or something... it was entirely uncharacteristic of him and I've never seen anything even remotely similar to it again from him - he's very chilled out. But shortly after that my trip became incredibly euphoric and peaceful and at exactly that point my cat stopped this frightening behavior and came and snuggled on my lap and fell asleep purring.

animals do seem to be quite perceptive of when their owners are on mood altering drugs. I've never witnessed anything quite as extreme as Xorkoth's story, but have certainly noticed significant changes in animal behavior. In the 2c-i entry in PiHKAL there is a 0mg report of someone with what could be best described as a "contact high," and I don't see why this couldn't be extrapolated to various domesticated species as well.

And to reiterate the above posts, there is no way to dose a cat with sweat while on a 2c-x, as they are excreted primarily in urine. Even if some did make it onto your skin via sweat it would be such an infinitesimal amount it would be of no consequence. If you could somehow collect all your sweat from the duration of a trip and probably the following several hours and then get a cat to drink the entire amount, something might happen, but it would still be extremely unlikely. But if you're in the habit of collecting your own persperation and your cat is in the habit of drinking substantial quantities of human persperation, the cat getting a mild dose of 2c-i would be pretty low on the list of things to worry about.

Along the concept of a contact high because I find the phenomenon very real and very interesting... I kid you not, I have given contact highs to my wife and friends many times, usually without them knowing I was tripping (I used to trip around them a lot without them knowing because none of them were nearly as into psychedelics as me and it saved the trouble of creating awkwardness as I told them I was going to be tripping while we were hanging out). It's been to the extreme, multiple times, of us all staring at the clouds and with just marijuana having been smoked, they'd be telling me that the clouds are morphing around like they were on LSD... or random comments like "did you put something on this bowl? I feel like I'm tripping!". Stuff like that. I mean, I realize we were smoking weed, but these are all very experienced daily smokers who were noticing things far out of the ordinary.

They are indeed strange and curious things. I've definitely noticed general goofiness and strange thought patterns/conversation topics arise from non-tripping persons. Once me and a friend had taken some 2c-t-2 with the intent of watching a crazy thunderstorm (which was awesome by the way) and went to a bar with a covered outdoor patio with tables, chairs, etc. We were there with several friends, only one of which knew we were tripping. Things were pretty normal, but as we sat there chatting for a while the non-tripping & unaware persons began bringing up topics rather atypical for them, even after a few pints. A few times we all ended up in silence just staring out at the storm waiting for more lightning. Strange stuff indeed.

I'd like to see some real research done on this phenomenon. Also, I'd volunteer to be the confederate who had to hang out with people both while tripping & not if anyone wants to test this ;)

That reminds me... the morning after the AMT/4-AcO-DMT trip mentioned above, I went to church, as my wife was the church pianist and I joined the choir (I was still extremely altered at this point and riding the most amazing and massive afterglow of my life). I knew these people well, nearly all of them at least 60, some even up to 80 years old or so. That morning everyone I ran into was commenting on how crazy of a day it was and how amazing and new it felt and so on. This one old man who would always hobble around really slowly came up behind me when he arrived with a giant leap from out behind a doorway and started poking me repeatedly with his index finger saying "Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi!" and grinning from ear to ear. Everyone was kind of lounging around their chairs and giggling and the pastor forgot where he was at 3 times. =D

Crazy stuff. I've only mentioned the stuff I can verify as having happened... take it for what you will. But it seems clear to me that the phenomenon of contact highs is a real one.

sometimes on acid i will see my cat and hell have that classic
"im watching you, you're up to something" cat-look on his face.
this will oftewn shock me for a second or two like
"aw naw he's onto me!" (in a mischievous manner)
and the cat will either edge away or get up to leave,
then i will regain my composure, be full of love and admiration for my feline friend, go up and stroke him.
often times he'll lay back down n let me stroke him and telepathically talk to him
(send vibes etc)
sometimes its like we are having a convo.
barely anything is said, but we both know what the other is trying to convey.

like mentioned above, cats are VERY receptive to body language.

Are you sure it isn't your perception of the cats behavior rather than the behavior itself that is being altered?

OMG in my city it's all about the MDMA and how you can't pet cats when you're on it cause it transfers too them via sweat blah blah blah.

Honestly I don't understand how so many people can believe that without being at least a little skeptical.

drug mythology is really weird. I'd like to see some sort of anthropological study of the spread of these myths. I know tons of relatively reasonable people that had i not convinced them otherwise (with some effort) would still think LSD was stored in your spine forever or made your brain stem bleed or other random bullshit.

They're definitely real. I'm just curious as to the mechanism of action for these sorts of things. And they seem to be more specific to things like cannabis & psychedelics as opposed to booze & speed. It may have something to do with the power of suggestion, or the fact that most behavior is highly situational. Plus, spoken language is extremely new in the history of living organisms, so I'd imagine body language etc, having been the predominant form of communication for millenia, is still quite an effective & powerful mode of communication

Lol, I don't care, I'll let my cat get messed up, because there's just no way in hell I'm gonna NOT pet my cat when I'm rolling my face off.

Is it safe to pet a cat on meow meow?
