Why the fuck isn’t weed legal by now? Seriously? Everyone knows it is safer then alcohol, we know it would help the economy out exponentially. Like why the fuck is it not legal?

The public find it easier to reason with alcohol than weed, if weed was made legal there would be A LOT of conflict with it most likely. I think it should be made illegal, but not smoked in public, over 18 (Cannabis may affect brain development, I have yet to come to a conclusion as I have read it does and doesn't from numerous places - anyone care to solve this?) and driving/operating machinery is banned, I think that's reasonable enough to allow those who wish to smoke weed enjoy it and for those that hate it, it doesn't bother them really apart from a few dispensary's taking over their local KFCs.
I think medical marijuana should be eased in soon at least, although only for severe/chronic problems and to make sure it stays like that for a while and doesn't get out of hand to allow those who are against it to begin to accept it.

Because the government has no way to control the supply of Cannabis and rolling paper in its original form. I agree with the legalization of it but the Government is a big round table of hypocrites
, the country was founded on it, every colonist in Jamestown(1619, first colony of the new world) was required by law to grow cannabis.

Fingers crossed for the California vote. I imagine if it gets through, alot of other places will also.
In the UK we have just entered a time with a coalition government between the conservatives and liberal democrates. David Cameron (the new Prime Minister) has said in the past he thinks cannabis use for medical purposes should be allowed. And of course its quite clear where the Lib Dems stand on cannabis as well. Hopefully the times ahead will lead to people stop being criminalised for use of this wonderfull plant.

Because the legal system wants everything that's in your wallet. And then you get a criminal record making it harder for you to get a job, so you turn to selling drugs. And then the legal system gets everything in your wallet again. And even if you do get a real job, because of how the legal system wants the wallets of everyone who smokes weed, you have to submit to drug tests and pass them in order to keep your job. Greed: fucking up the world since before recorded history; but at least everybody could smoke the herb for almost all of that history.

Seriously, though, weed is still illegal for a number of reasons. Mainly, though, it's just not in the best interests of those pulling the strings around the country.
I hope California is a successful guinea pig and passes the law with no issue. Whenever Cali succeeds with their crazy experimental legislation then the rest of the country tends to follow suit.
I've got my fingers crossed, that's for sure.
