What are the negative effects (besides potential for addiction) of Vicodin?

Obviously there's the chance of addiction, but that alone doesn't make it negative. I mean, masturbation is addictive as hell, but it's good for you, so it doesn't matter if you can't stop.

I'm sure there are bad effects of it, but what specifically? All I can come up with is itchiness.

Liver is the most prominent and the cause for most concern. However, I want to add that for me- and many others- vicodin (opiates in general) numb your sexual drive. I know that when I am out and am on a good high, I could care less about girls- my drive is nil. I could be in a car with 4 other guys who would be hootin and hollerin at a young hottie passing by, and I would be like...wow, ok.

your mileage may vary.

Oh...and yes...that small addiction thing...:)

Addiction. It is not a joke, and is a huge factor. Opiates can be used responsibly, but it is so damn hard for a lot of us. Masturbation is quite a different addiction. You will not start to hurt if you don't masturbate. You will have the tools to masturbate near 90% of the time, and it's free. You don't spiral into depression from how often you jerk it...

Other than that, they make me nauseous, or my stomach hurts. The amount of tylenol in the pills could do some damage on your liver. Respiratory depression is a pretty bad negative also, because it can cause death. It can't be mixed with other drugs, which I find a negative. I actually really like the itchiness, and I would call that far from a negative in my book. Ha =P

Also, all of the questions can go in one thread, as there seems to be a bunch out there.

Addiction is the major negative effect. Since you are so young, I would guess you have never been through withdrawal. I hope you never have to. It is pure hell.

You will do whatever you have to do to stop feeling terrible. You will spend all your money, pawn all your shit, and steal from the people you love.

Do you need more negative effects than that?
