Three days ago, I took an acquaintance who did not have a place to sleep in for the evening. I am a recluse, and am not used to having company. My acquaintance was in a bad state of mind, of course, but was very happy that I took him in. I asked him if he wanted to trip. He was completely naive to hallucinogens, so he said yes, and was very excited about it.

We both dosed with ~500ug of LSD-25 (two hits each). We are both Catholic, and pray to and are guided by specific Saints. My patron Saints are Saint Catherine of Alexandria, and Saint Jeanne d'Arc. His is Saint Gabriel, the Arcangel. We relaxed, and watched The Messenger - The story of Joan of Arc on my laptop, as I choose to not own a television. We managed to watch ~1 hour of the film before we were distracted completely by our trips.

He decided to lay down on the floor on his belly with his arms out and just trip out for a while. I found him quite amusing, as he was talking about seeing angels. I began having a conversation with Saint Catherine, and she was telling me that I am to lead a life of purity. No secular music, only instrumental, and no film or television at all. She says this way my thoughts will be my own. She also said that I am to not think of women in a sexual manner, and always treat them with respect. My self and my house are to be kept very clean, and I am to continue with my psychedelic sacraments, while tapering away from all other chemicals.

After some time had passed, my acquaintance came around, and we began discussing our entire lives and futures. This lasted the remainder of the trip, several hours. We talked about the wonders of life and of the hardships. We talked about a mutual friend of ours who died recently at a young age. We spoke of Jesus and the Saints, and how we are to take care of everyone to the best of our abilities. We are now God's servants.

The next day, he left, found a place, and went on to begin a better life for himself. I threw away all the secular materials in my home, cleaned, and prayed.

wow, its interesting to hear LSD used in such a manner.

Was your acquaintance ok with the trip, given his naivety with hallucinogens? Do you consider bluelight a secular resource? Do you think you will have to give it up for a life of purity?

My acquaintance reacted very well to the medicine.

No, I do not consider Bluelight to be secular. There are exceptions, such as The Lounge, but I stay away from lounge threads. I am here to help, teach, and learn.

mrjackjones,

Fascinating.

I have been very tempted to take LSD again.

The last time I tripped was 15 years ago, as an 18 year-old who didn't really have a clue about life. It was fun and I gained from introspective insights that were worthwhile but I feel I could gain a whole lot more now.

Since then I have grown in all aspects, and am a Christian (Baptist).

What type of setting would you recommend I re-take LSD in to gain the best benefit, from a Spiritual perspective?

MrJackJones, amazing.

Written beautifully, and gave me a warm uplift like. Sort of makes me want to try LSD, thouhgh I know nobody who does it, and wouldnt feel safe tripping off LSD alone.

There is no setting in particular that will be properly suited to all individuals. Find a place that you are comfortable with. Make certain that you are feeling good emotionally as well.

My first psychedelic experiences were with Psilocybin, and I tripped outdoors, in the woods until I was accustomed to the effects of tripping. The same applied to Mescaline and LSD. Wherever you are, just remember that tripping cannot hurt you, and if you try, you can direct the experience in whatever way you chose.

I have always wanted to trip in a Church, and could because many Churches are kept unlocked 24/7. I do not suggest this unless you are very comfortable with tripping.

I've always wanted to trip in some sort of place of worship also. I agree that this is not a good setting AT ALL for novice trippers, though to an experienced psychonaut who consistently felt a connection with the foundation of all being while in that space sober, it could be a very profound and life-changing trip.

I enjoyed reading your trip report very much. It always makes me happy to see people using psychedelic drugs for spiritual purposes, and writing about it here. I think this can be a very healthy background setting for the use of psychedelics, so long as one is at peace with, and more helped than hindered by, one's spirituality.

I don't think BL is as overwhelmingly secular as I once thought it was. I've only so far done the poll on drugs and spirituality for Ecstasy, but many more of the hundreds of voters said they were spiritual than not. Belonging to an organized religion, on the other hand, was rather rare.

Somewhere out there, there must be a fraternal order for devout Catholics who partake in entheogenic ceremonies together. I'm sure they keep that aspect of their group purpose symbolically hidden, for obvious legal reasons. But I wonder if Yahoo Groups or Meetup.com might be helpful.

In this area (I live in the sticks), I am fairly certain that no one that is of the Roman Catholic Faith would even consider tripping, under any circumstance. They are very sober people (concerning psychedelics, I am sure there are a few drinkers). Even the acquaintance I spoke of is not a devout Catholic, more of a new recruit, if you will. I do know of some new age non-denominational 'Christians' that may dig the experience, however they completely disregard the Roman Catholic Doctrine, and therefore I would not be comfortable dosing with them with such intent.

Thank you for the kind words, all.

Thanks for sharing this experience, it is definitely inspiring to hear of someone using LSD in such a sacramental fashion. I too tend to throw out a bunch of things after a trip, I see it as a necessary aspect of tuning in. Living a life of purity is challenging but I think once you've been called to it there's really no other way to go about things, nothing then will bring you greater bliss. May blessings be granted in your new life and let all doubt be dissolved by the perpetually burning fire of hope!

Aren't those things we should all being doing anyways? Not just because of religion or a religious figure? Gender doesn't have boundaries, it never has. Our thoughts are never our own if we can watch hours of people lying and basically using consciousness in harmful way in movies. You're also Catholic. Don't be god's servant. God is just you. God is just the teachings that were impressed in you from a the voice of an elder in your religious community that is far repressed into your subsconscious, that with the help of psychedelic drugs that hit the same receptors as the ones activated during studied "religious experiences" or spiritual, and let you match an image to your mind's memory of hearing or actually listening to those voices. Don't go viewing yourself as some servant of god, or you'll be forever enslaved to something that isn't you.

Experiences teach you balance. Relying on other's thoughts to teach you how to live to benefit the world is not at all how you reach that level of existence. Instead, you should incorporate those thoughts and messages into other memories of your past and see how they're driven you throughout your life. See how they guided you in ways that were "pure" in your mind and somehere in the minds of others, and then follow that flow of experience to help you transition your way throughout this reality. You don't have to rely on being servants to something you're told. Be what you think about what you're told, don't be a servant of imposed thought. Even if you still love your religion, which it seems you do, ignorance is not bliss in the end, and it doesn't help you expand your thought as far as you will wish.

Good revelations though brother.

Does tripping strengthen your faith, or make you question it? I question everything whilst tripping.. and tripping set my atheist agnosticism in stone. Just curious.

^I had never explored my faith while tripping until this winter when I began tripping often with mescaline, which always directed my thoughts towards my faith and strengthened it as an result.

Interesting...LSD, mushrooms, these things taught me that god is not real. Notice the screen name? That was taken before I deconverted. I keep it because it is (was) part of my life. I could never go back to believing though, I am utterly convinced that religion is a farce. The idea of religion has some good properties though.

No harm intended to the OP....

1st time I ever doses I took 2 1/4 hits of high quality gel. My friend took a hit for his first time and spent 8 hours hidding under his sheets. Near the peak, I felt that I had seen God. This was on top of a hill in suburban San Jose in december of 1987. 90% plus of the LSD in the US was being made locally at the time so we had access to quality cheap acid everywhere. $2-5/ hit, $30-35 sheet it was way afordable (included for historical reasons). Trully life changing.

I like the ideas of social justice that the Jesus figure talks about, but I choose to not trust the institutions of religion or of government, I think everything should be questioned before it is accepted as absolute truth. I don't believe in any religion, for that matter.

However, it's pretty cool to see a different kind of Roman Catholic (I was raised one) that does not partake in the religious hypocrisy I witness all the time. I think it'd be interesting to go to Mass tripping, I've already done it high (I was kinda forced to go so I figured if I had no choice I could at least go high) before.

I'm guessing that your patron saints don't view drugs as sinful, either. Interesting.

My Patron Saints indeed do find drug use to be sinful, however hallucinogens in particular are completely disconnected from the notion.

Psychedelics are not harmful to the body, have relatively no overdose potential, and cause no withdrawal symptoms. Furthermore, psychedelic journeys require much psychological effort and as a result have continuously developed my personality for the better, while strengthening my conviction in my Faith.

So my post was "moderated" and deleted? May I ask why? Are there no dissenting views allowed here? Sorry, that's bullshit, and you know it.
