Reducing Amphetamine Tolerance?

G'ayy all :)

i was enquiring how i should go about to effectively lower my amphetamine tolerance?
i am aware that there are and foods that are rich in dopamine and therefore raise levels and that L-tyrosine is a precursor to dopamine (correct me if im wrong)
but i wish to actually lower my tolerance, rather than compensate for reduced dopamine levels

I had been informed that DXM may do this as its an NMDA antagonist...? haha
anyway, just wanting to clarify this along with any other amphetamine reducing ideas

...much like naltrexone does for opiate tolerance...

memantine hcl has shown some value as an NDMA antagonist and tolerance reduction agent... also magnesium and a combo of 5htp and l tyrosine

apparently memantine doesn't reduce tolerance, only prevents the increase of tolerance

as for 5-htp, it is basically raw serotonin, which would only be useful for meth or mdma tolerance (sorry i should've been more specific, i mean amphet, not methamphet)
i was looking for something that would actually lower my dopamine levels, so my body had to overcompensate
rather than being bombarded with dopamine from amphets and undercompensate, if you get me
(someone correct me if this would not actually work in reducing tolerance)

so l-tyrosine would be counterproductive, as i would be increasing my dopamine levels, and therefore my body would undercompensate moreso...

but cheers for the comment
i may implement some l-tyrosine for after i have a high dose of amphets
just to keep feeling down and depressed at bay

What do you mean by this? I don't get it. I was always told to take L-tyrosine to make it stronger, cause it replenishes lost dopamine.... Explain....

I'm on the same adventure as you trying to sensitize myself.... As I saw you got this from my thread, right?

Anyways I want to get close to that first high back, cause that had to be the most bliss I've ever felt in my life, just from one 20mg Adderall... :\

Just take a break. Tolerance to amphetamines seems to decrease if you stop using them for a period of time.

typically for me before i feel like i lost it completely (over a month break etc still no euphoria really) it would take approx 5 days to see a significant decrease in tolerance. the biggest change came after day 3 and every day following that seemed to only diminish a much smaller amount of tolerance. i know thats how it always was for me anyway (enough experience to fill a novel too heh)

sweet p: i actually have tried this and my tolerance has not seemed to drop at all
like a month+ break and i still needed the exact same amount :\

dysphoric: what i mean is, if you start ingesting L-tyrosine, it will boost your dopamine stores
but by doing this, your body is going to adjust and start producing less dopamine of its own according (if im correct?)

so what i was looking to do is find something that decreases dopamine levels and therefore the body would counteract this by producing more dopamine, effectively combatting tolerance
i am fairly sure this could work...?
if not, then maybe im just crazy haha

i've never had bliss off 20mgs of any stimulant unfortunately (haven't tried meth)
:(

That would only be the case if you were taking large amounts of l-tyrosine on a daily or very regular basis for a long time. Occasionally taking some l-tyrosine wouldn't cause your brain to adjust and produce less dopamine on its own.

A break is really the best way to reduce your tolerance, though I feel like theres an aspect of perma-tolerance with amphetamines like most drugs really, once you've used it heavily it's almost impossible to reverse that.

"i was enquiring how i should go about to effectively lower my amphetamine tolerance?"

So were hundreds of thousands of women in the 1960's when given amps for weight loss and became addicted (thats why they got taken off the market). After 2 months the body becomes more efficient at eliminating the drug so up goes the dose, soon you cannot function without a daily fix of higher dose amphetamine.
