You talked me into it... when I get a job I'm going to give it a go!
Be prepared to receive NUMEROUS PM's when this happens!
go for it! that Phalaenopsis orchid was like $8... the prices varied mostly on the pot, and of course the plant, but that same one that was 8, was also 15 in a different pot, that really was only for ascetics.
i guess if you get one, and decide you want to get more into it, then you'll need like $50-$60 for nutrients, and medium material, and some PH up/down and test stuff. but that 60 bucks, on one plant, lol, youd be feeding it and checking/correcting the ph to feed & spray for 2-3 years, no joking. i have a lot of plants man, and those supplies would last me 10-12 months...
you could easily even have a tidy self sufficent hydro system, that ran a few times a week, but would boost up a dozen of those easily man haha. so go a head and pm me with any Q's, but read that link up top.
"If you are a beginner, I definitely recommend that you start with Phalaenopsis orchids. It is very rewarding to grow and is extremely difficult to kill. (Except in a blender; that’s pretty easy.)"
