Heroin/Meth Users, I have a Question for You

What would you say to an 18 year old wanting to use heroin? My poisons are weed, E, and alcohol. But ever since I rolled for the first time, I've found myself wanting to try harder and harder drugs. So...what do you think? Should I try heroin or meth? Or are those two worlds just way too dangerous to get myself mixed up in? In other words, based on your experience with both or one of the two drugs, what would you say to someone wanting to try one of them?

that you think they have anything to do with one another means you should be more informed about their general nature before using either one. You just wanna use a drug with a bunch of hype around it?

ignoring the risks, meth is not even worth the comedown. i wouldn't suggest trying it. I have never used heroin, so i can not recommend for or against it. given that is an opiate, i am sure it feels alright. plus it kind of has this reputation of making you feel good. though so does meth, haha.

what's the question here? DONT DO DRUGS. man, if Officer Dan could hear you now...

on a more serious note, hydrocodone.

Oh, no, no. I don't think they're related at all. They're just two drugs I want to try, so I thought I'd address them both in one thread. And I don't want to try them because of the hype, I've read about them both, and I feel like they'd both produce feelings I would enjoy.

I ask because I've heard (and seen) so many horror stories involving both of the drugs and people close to me or close to people I know.

having had extensive experience with both crystal meth and heroin, i can tell u that it would be a very very bad idea to start with either.

I've found meth and heroin to be equally addictive, heroin obviously being more physically addicting, while meth is psychologically more addictive/re-enforcing.

i would suggest u NOT try either, but if u had to, I'd say go with the heroin.

meth will destroy u, deteriorate your body and mind, it will turn u into a pathological liar, will make u do heinous things to ppl, it will make u lose sense of morality, it will ruin your teeth, cause brain damage, will make u totally shameless, age u exponentially, and then kill u very quickly.
basically, meth will chew u up and spit u out.

Heroin is a lot more merciful.

Stay away from meth.

You can be responsible with H, I know many users who are fully functioning members of society. Just please don't shoot it, because once you do that, you can't have it any other way and there's a 99% chance of addiction. Smoke or snort it occasionally. Just remember, don't let the drug control you and you'll be fine.

Meth will absolutely destroy your life AND take hold of your soul... Although heroin is also as extremely addicting you can function daily in life better than with meth...

The best answer from both sides is not to start with either..

I have experienced both.. The good and the bad.. Although it can be amazing at first.... It can and most likely WILL get more than ugly... Please take my words in regards

One word: DON'T

Hi. I'm 40 something years old. I've tried lots of drugs, know people who have done lots of drugs and have researched lots of drugs. Heroin has caused irreversable damage and destroyed relationships in my own personal experience. My 27 year old son first did oxy's, then went to snorting heroin. When he couldn't get high enough from snorting, he shot up. His habit was disgusting. Not even having a newborn baby made him quit. The permanent marks on his arms make me want to vomit. He taught his younger brother all about heroin. He- my other son, age 21, is now in prison for 9 months when he got busted buying it. He was just at the snorting stage. The oldest lied, stole, conned, sold everything I ever gave him and even things I bought for the baby for heroin, even returned diapers. He moved 10 times in 2 years because he couldn't pay bills, it all went on heroin. I took him in my home when he threatened suicide. I felt I needed to save his life. He convinced me that methadone was the answer. It was all just lies. Just another way to get legally high. I made him leave. He somehow conned his way out of a jail sentence recently for selling crack (to buy heroin) and is on a second chance program. I pray he stays clean but our relationship is damaged beyond repair. We don't speak and I will never know my grandson.....all because of heroin. You only have one life....don't do drugs that end up controlling YOU. I personally take 40 mg of percs a day for pain and the buzz that comes along with it is quite enjoyable, I'm not going to lie. But I know when I can't get them anymore I can find a dr. willing to help me get off of them safely. There are plenty of other safer drugs available for you to catch a buzz off of. Why would you throw away your life at such a young age? Heroin leads you down two paths: dead or jail.

Moderation is key. I can tell you that heroin was not their problem. They were drug addicts is the problem. Just because they couldn't control their use doesn't mean the OP can't.

I may be wrong, and would like to hear opinions from others, but I believe my kids were addicted within one week after daily use. The oldest would claim he wanted off It and would go through a day or two of withdrawal hell, but I later found out that he really did it to make the next injection resemble the high he experienced in the beginning. After he continued using it, he no longer could or wanted to tolerate withdrawing, so that began the vicious circle. He then HAD to use to function "normally". As I am still trying to learn and understand why people would want to even try it, I welcome all feedback. However, no matter what I learn about it, I will not be personally advising someone to go ahead and try it due to my own personal experience.

I'm a slowly recovering meth addict. It's one of the most addictive and damaging drugs around. Trust me, you'll be addicted before you even know it. My advice... keep away from it. Keep away from all hard drugs. They may seem fun at first, but once you become an addict your life will go seriously downhill. Just like the phrase, "curiosity killed the cat."

Ive been doing heroin everyday for about a year and a bit now. IV and smoking, mostly IV though. all I can say is, fuck that shit. every single one of my friends that has even tryed it is now full blown addicts, same kids that could keep 80s under control for years. basically, i turned 18 a few days ago, i have no car, i have no job, im getting kicked out in about 3 weeks because my parents found a bag of syringes 2 nights ago. im pretty much fucked it seems.

but with meth, I think the long term damage is much greater. i would also imagine the psycho cravings would be unbearable. i cant tell you first on what its like to be a meth addict as i only do it casually but one of my best friends has been addicted to meth for 4 years. nicest girl you will ever meet and still looks extremely attractive somehow but you can just tell by what she says her brain is so beyond destroyed and quite frankly im not sure it will ever really go back anywhere close to where it was. its a real shame because she had so much potential to do literally anything she wanted.

dont do it man

Don't do it. I promise, 'harder' doesn't mean a better high, it means worse side effects. Opiates will rock your world in a pleasant (and relaxing as fuck) way, but it's not worth the addiction. Many people I know spend money on a bag every couple of days (sometimes daily) just to be normal and avoid withdrawals.

Now meth, meth I can talk about. I've never done meth. I've never done meth because my parents have been meth addicts most of their lives. it destroyed my entire childhood. My mother had a psychotic break and it just never went away. She will never be normal again. I've never seen such massive changes in behavior the way I do from meth, even when the user is not on it. It's appalling. There are some people who can use it responsibly, but they are few and far between. it destroys your teeth, you will look emaciated and sick all the time, and you will feel HORRIBLE every day that you aren't sober. It's a sad, sad thing.

MDMA is honestly a lot more pleasant than meth anyway, according to every person I've ever met that has done both, including the meth addicts. That MDMA stuff is pretty wonderful.

I don't recommend either, but if you were to pick one of the other, I would say heroin. Partially because I have not used meth. Plan on a habit to form if you use either. The first time I used heroin, I didn't feel the addiction. Nor the second or third. But I don't want to push my luck.

WOULD SAY TRY SNIFFED heroin. OWuld not recommend meth. Had a bad coke habit and was getting bad into hroin when i leveled offat 4.0-7.5 grmas a day of coke but was selling wenough to pay for that habit plus some of my heroin and iwth that i was charging dubs for each plus 20 a tri p and had 5 refgular subrban riuch kids so would g3et up tp 20 a day usually 15 plus and ouwl often hook upo this chick. POINT IS WIHT THIS HEAVY OF AN ADDICITON I KEPT DOING ALL THIS AND SMOKING WEEKD AND DRINKING 20 PLUS DRINKS A NIGHT TO STABLIZE THE COKE I TIRIED SNORTING METH TWICE AND FELT MORE HOOKED THEN THE MANY MINTHS IF DOPE AND THE YEARS OF COCAINE. AFTER ALMOST 5 MOTHS I WAS DOING A GRAM TO THREE GRAMS OF METH A DAY QWITH LESS COKE AND LESS GHEROIN BUT WORSE AND WORSE LESS SATISFIED FROM MROE METH AND WAS RELEIVED WHEN MY DUDE LITERALLY BLEW UP IN HAS LAB BURNING 98% OF HIS NODY AND WENT TO PROSON NOT FOR HIM CAUYSE I FELT TERRIBLE BUT IT WAS A FORM OF FREEDOM THAT I HAD A HARD TIME DROWNING OUT THE REALITY OF IN ENDLESS EHROIN AND INCRESED COKE. BUT I STILL OCASSIONALLY TWEEK ON CRANK ICE OR METH AND WHEN I DO I GET NERVOUS THT I WILL FALL RIGHTR BACK IN
THE HROIN IS CONTROLLING MY LIFE AND HAS A GRIB BUT THE METH IS WAY WAUY WORSE

You could certainly try meth and heroin, and, statistically speaking, you'd probably come out all right. Not everyone who does smack becomes fiending addicts prostituting their bodies, and not everyone who tries ice goes on to have all their teeth falling out of their heads while blabbering incessantly. But, unlike the drugs you've already experimented with, getting involved in the long-haul with meth or heroin is almost always a bad idea. I've known people who have gotten away with the occasional use, but you just don't want these drugs playing a role in your life. If you must try them, please continue doing your best research first so you'll have a better sense of what you're getting into.

Totally agree^
ou can use a substance
you can try a substance but heropin and meth are two examples of substances that can use you if you let them.
The key is that you have to give them control for them to have sontrol but you usually give them control wihtout realizing.
We live in the real world one use of anything wont hook you
it took a few with meth but i let my self fall in love with thefeeling...it didnt force me and i probally as unclear about that

The question is, are the highs you get from meth and heroin worth all the danger? I answered that question in the affirmative, played around with both drugs, and came out all right in the end (my problem drugs have always been pharmaceuticals). I had my own reasons for trying them, and all of them were fairly self-destructive. Not that I have any regrets, and I'm not going to be a hypocrite and tell you not to try them.

If you do get involved in those drugs, you'll probably meet plenty of people who seem to handle them just fine (if you haven't already). I'm sure many of us here have known middle-class professionals who indulged occasionally on the weekend– teachers on speed, lawyers on smack, etc. These people can give you the false impression that everything you ever learned about those drugs is bullshit. Fair enough, we've gone through life being told that you'll get addicted your first time, everything will go downhill, etc., then you meet a few people who, from all outward appearances, do just fine. But said appearances can be misleading.

meth doesn't make you do any of that, it's your choice in the end to lie, cheat and steal.

both drugs (like any other drug) need to be approached with caution as you pointed out with the health risks associated. if the user has a sense of maturity and control then why pull the scare tactic on them? this isn't DARE. a few hits off the pipe isn't going to cause you to lose all your teeth and turn you from an 18 year college kid into someone in their 80's - chronic abuse does that.

enjoy your future, OP.

what an asshat thing to say8)
