Don't bother, it is the most woeful load of fucking nonsense I've seen in ages. The first was a masterpiece in movie making, but the second one makes me want to go on a killing spree.

Fuck knows what's happened to their faces, well one mostly, but defo a facelift or botox overload.
 
To be brutally honest the first one was pants as well.
BS might be the most overated move of all time ( along with Heat)

When the best thing about a movie is that Ron Jeremy outacts everyone else, you know its a steaming pile of dogcrap.
Just MHO though, It seems lots of people love it. :)
 
i agree with the overatedness but still thought it was an impressive directorial debut from an alcoholic bar owner with no film training/experience

I think thats whats most infuriating, there are flashes there, maybe im too harsh, the film isnt that bad, but its nowhere near as good as most think it is( imho)

If we are talking impressive ( full length ) directorial debuts by booze addled mongs....this is the daddy....

If you never knew what it was or anything about it, (like I didn't before I saw it) then believe me it was a huge surprise how good it was.

When a film is sold by everyone as the best thing ever, it usually isn't.

Yeah, when i shelled out my fiver for it, from play.com, all people were telling me was how amazing it was.

It wasnt, but its a perfectly acceptable time waster for a Sunday afternoon, if your shockingly hungover.

The best films are those that you see without knowing anything about it except the reviews on the box are from people/publications you respect, whoever they may be.
When I first watched videos in the 6th form I used the Guardian guide to tell me which films to watch, inevitibly 70's US or European films. And I must have hit about a 90% good, because it was all that was good about that time.
Regards Irreversible, this is exactly what happened. I had seen Gaspars previous stuff and it looked good on the back, I took it home and my head came apart 14 different ways. Definetly one of the best films ever but I would dread to watch on some mind bending shit like acid...........time for the broken leg, out comes the fire extinguisher: .....BANG.......BANG.......BANG.........BANG................BANG.......BANG.....BANG......ETC by the time it got to the rape I was already pulverised by the spinning cameras, and incinerating bass. Nothing has ever blown my head apart like it...not even either of the cranks;)
I haven't seen it since it came out but I could talk for ages about what I remember.
But I won't. I'm just remembering the extinguisher......BANG ad nauseam.

I've been exceptionally depressed and down recently ,crying thinking about suicide, going on new anti-depressants that may potentially mean I can't take anything but downers.....oh wait thats all I do take.....bring the fucking smack back......fucking waste of time that you are.

Back onto the track of my films, well I haven't been able to do anything apart from cycle between bad drugs, worse drugs, and I went cold turkey from everything and its taken till at least today to be able to form proper sentences.

I have moon on lovefilm list.
I will check the oeurve of John Frankenheimer as I 've never watched the original Manchurian candidate.

Almost turned it off a few times, it's horrible watch. But it's a horror film, so I guess that its job.

hehe i recommended that in an earlier thread, a lot of people didn't seem impressed at all but i thought it was a good modern british horror, particularly nasty and cruel in places
 
Its far too close to reality. I mean out of all the horror films I've ever seen Eden Lake is so horribly close to stories I've known since youth and things that really do happen and it is also featuring that utter cunt from Skins ver 2.0 as the ultimate cunt and he must be looking for trouble or typecasting.
The end of the film is pain.
OH wait its all pain from the first looks, then the rotty getting it and then black deep pain.
Most American sites rate it as an amazing horror but far too grim and real and in your face to truly enjoy. Its a force yourself to watch it film.
Unlike baise-moi and irreversible........or the piano teacher.....all of which I had no problem watching, don't know why.
possibly doesn't match I spit on your grave for jesus fucking hell did that actually happen, but it goes for a much better made version minus rape really.
Fuck it watch I spit on your grave and learn to hate.
 
it wasn't though, plain decent horror, you're not supposed to look for a masterpiece and the acting from the kids and main characters was great IMO. saying gash and bad acting is a useless comment unless qualified, lets not spoil the thread just because we're back home and grumpyy spadey baby.
 
Really want to see that Shutter Island film. It's still not out in the cinema yet but the trailer sure does look ace :D

Look mate the films crap. I wasn't looking for a masterpeice I just expected it to be half decent and it failed on all accounts. Aye the kids were alright but the 2 main adults, were terrible. It wasn't scary either. :p

If we can't voice our opinions on films in this thread where can we eh? :D

A shit time in Dundee? Me? Never! I'll just go to the local indie filmhouse and watch some quality world cinema to keep me entertained.....oh no wait there's not one! :(

Lovefilm.com will be getting abused over the next few months I reckon.
