I found this very interesting sudy online

Clonidine potentiates the effects of tranylcypromine, phenelzine and two analogues in the forced swimming test in mice

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC161647/?log$=activity

I take Nardil at the moment, amazingly good drug, gave me my life back when nothing else worked.
However I do struggle with the side effects, if clonidine (maybe at night to help me sleep) let me lower the dose of nardil without losing the effect that would be great.

My only concern would be hypotention (nardil already causes this) and lowered sex drive (again, another shitty side effect of nardil)

Thoughts?

Sorry, I have no info for you regarding your question, but I would like to ask you about your experience with Nardil if you dont mind.

How has it "given you your life back"? What has it been able to do for you that other medications have not? Could you please describe the effects it provides for you. Thanks-DG

I actually did a 3 page FAQ and outline of my experience of using Nardil but the mods on this site decided that my post was "too promotional" and have twice took it down wasting a shit load of my time I spent reformatting it for Bluelight and complying with their original hang ups about it. So sorry, like the government with their paternalistic internet filter plans, Bluelight mods know better than you

I, too, would be interested to hear of your experiences with the MAOI. I've run out of options in the SSRI/SNRI department although the potential drug/food interactions of MAOI's gives me pause.

Clonidine and MAOI's are not a very good mix from the postural hypotension standpoint. You'd need to be looked after fairly closely if you were to initiate such a combo. Check this site out for drug interactions:

Like I said, the mods are being thorough dicks about this and I am not about to go through and re-edit everything I wrote for a THIRD time only to have them delete it because they deem Nardil is too dangerous a drug to be "promoting" on bluelight.

Damn that sucks, Nardil is a very effective med and such posts should definatly be allowed.

Well, I had a big row/discussion with the mods and some good has come of it insomuch as there is being a wiki created to do up faq's to make it a colaberative effort. So you may indeed see it soon.

This stuff potentiates all sort of serotonin related things alot and even more with buspirone added in. It has something to do with 5ht 1a agonism. It is superb with phenelzine.

I think the classic MAOIs are probably unfairly underutilized these days. I was on Nardil for a while. Weight gain was a problem but I was also pretty inactive at the time. The drug and food interactions are pretty easy to follow.
