Hi there, I have a notorious habit of posting things in the wrongs place so I hope I've done it right this time.

I did some searching (on bluelight aswell) but couldn't really find what I'm looking for.

I have Valium/Diazepam tablets and Serapax/Oxazepam. I know that oxaz is a metabolite of diaz but what does this mean exactly?

I also know that diaz is stronger than oxaz and, if I understand correctly, diaz is turned into oxaz in your system or is it vice versa, am I on the right track here?

Hey if anyone can give me any advice, pointers, tips, personal experiences with these drugs it'd be much appreciated.
I'm using the tablets to assist with cannabis & alcohol withdrawal but it wasn't explained clearly to me the differences between the two.
All I know for sure is that diaz is better, hits you faster, lasts longer and is better for recreational use if that's your intention.

Anything at all? Cheers in advance guys & gals :)

You are on the right track, oxazepam is one of a few active metabolites of diazepam. IMO diazepam is far superior... Oxazepam, I would compare closer to lorazepam than diazepam in terms of effects. I have found that it is great for mixing with certain other drugs, though! (Just use reasonable doses, of course!)

Thanks for your reply mate :)

Cool. Do you have any examples of other drugs it might go well with?

So far I've found mixing half a diaz with a half oxaz is just amazing for use as a sleep aid.

Never tried lorazepam. Anything like Xanax?

^No problem.

First of all, I feel that any benzo is going to be a good candidate to mix with it. With opiates, it isn't so powerful that it takes over the experience (like many would feel that the more potent benzos do), it just adds a bit to it IMO. Be wary of dosing too high when mixing with opiates (or alcohol), because you can get too much CNS depression from the drugs potentiating each other.

I just got prescribed a whole bunch of valium 5mg's, and I do not feel like I catch any sort of buzz from the diazepam itself. I simply feel like it potentiates everything else. 2 valium under the tongue, a couple beers and a few hits of weed detroyed my world the other night. The 5-6 beers I had felt like 20 of them.

I'm with Stranger on this one, I love mixing benzos with cannabis in any form. It really takes the edge off the paranoia and just allows you to enjoy the high better.

Opiates and benzos are nice, but not a huge fan because of the CNS depression risk i.e. death.

Benzos and alcohol are GREAT, but again, too many and you're no longer in control - scary stuff!

Sorry mate I believe I'm still misinterpreting what you're saying, good to mix with what exactly?

Cheers

PS Stranger, you will catch a buzz from valium, I have in the past anyway, you just gotta take a shitload all at once. Xannies are better for getting high so I've heard. Theys be the money drug ;)

^Oh, sorry. I was talking about the oxazepam in that post, though it really applies to both diazepam and oxazepam...

^Yeah, it makes just about every other one more enjoyable than it would have been on its own, IME.

Thanks for your reply mate :)

I just got some cyclobenzaprene, and they make a great sleep aid. They'll probably mix well with your oxazepam if some good sleep is your goal.
I took cyclobenzaprene with a 30mg temazapan a few times and they worked well together. I've never tried oxazepam before so I don't know exactly how accurate my comparion is.

As stated : If do you mix with other CNS depressants, like an opioid, be extra careful with your dosing to prevent respitory depression.

I much prefer diazepam over oxazepam due to increased length, more muscle relaxation, more anxiolytic, increased sedation. Pretty much better in all areas as far as benzos go for me, although my tolerance is very high.

Oxazepam also leaves a strange, sort of disgusting taste in my mouth when I wake up the next day, which diazepam does not. Not sure why that is, and it probably isn't the case for everyone.

Both should definitely help with cannabis & alcohol withdrawal though.

Yeah, I agree that the one benzodiazepine is extremely weaker than the standard 10mg Valium(DIAZEPAM) tablets that are supplied at highest level dosing, personally when I first got into BENZOS is when I was prescribed them in high school then my new doctor took me off the XANAX and I got pissed as hell and noticed the room below my new precription I just got that was for #1) PROZAC then I added each and every month a #2) for Valium DIAZEPAM 10mg 120 tabs, needless to say I loved valium and it's anxiolytic effects almost like turning you spinal cord into jello.

So, my answer would be the OX benzo for shits and giggles and the diazepam or valium would work greater on both anxiolytic effects of CNS DEPRESSANTS; depressed CNS and some of them (DEPRIVED FROM SIMILAR BENZOS) cause a almost SOMA like muscle relaxant.

Just my 2 mins... keep ritapinin' for life!

I'd prefer diazepam's metabolite, temazepam overall. I would probably like diazepam more but haven't tried oxazepam on its own. I saw a source which also said another metabolite of diazepam is oxazepam (and temazepam as well).

We don't really like to do "benzo vs" threads so I will find a suitable thread to merge this into.

I thought Diazepam only came in 2mg or 5mg tablets.

No, there's also 10mg tabs.

Xannies are the best benzos by far IMO - although I've never tried Flunitrazepam a.k.a Rohypnol

The main active metabolite of diazepam is actually desmethyldiazepam, a partial agonist at the BZD receptor sites, making it (desmethyldiazepam) a weaker benzodiazepine. However desmethyldiazepam is the reason for the long-half of Diazepam. While Diazepam itself has a half life of 20-100 hours, desmethyldiazepam has a half life nearly twice as long (200 hours). Diazepam has two other active metabolites, oxazepam being one of them. The other is Temazepam. Diazepam is roughly twice as potent as Oxazepam, along with Temazepam. I, however find Temazepam more enjoyable and one of my favorite benzos. Hope that clears things up for you...

Also, in the U.S. Diazepam is available in 2mg, 5mg and 10mg tablets.
