How bad is it going to be for me? i just got a script for tramadol and im replacing suboxone with it. its working as far as not feeling sick from suboxone withdrawl. i took 12 pills today and got 28 left. Ive been off suboxone for 4 days now but still didnt feel high from the tramadol. how bad will my withdrawl from tramadol be?

ummmm tramadol is complete bullshit, if you get a withdraw from tramadol, you are very sensitive to opiates.

Some of these people on here go on 3 month binges where they are Iving 500mg of oxy each day. Think about what their withdraw symptoms might feel like.

yeah i was just asking, thats whats up, i shouldnt get much withdrawl then. as far as severe withdrawl i know first hand , i used about a bundle a day and had to kick in jail with nothing more than aspirin. so i know about other peoples problems but im worried about myself , sorry i dont know any of you personally but i hope you can make it threw the tough times and stay strong. peace

I have a friend who uses tramadol for fibromyalga and she had a seizure because she ran out of her meds. Other than that it shouldn't be so bad.

I know this thread is a year old but my god, if anyone else reads these post responses I feel I have a duty to tell them that yes, tramadol withdrawal is real and it's no "walk in the park". I've been taking tramadol on and off for 3 years now, and when I run out of it, I go into extreme withdrawal. I've came off of methadone and heroin, and althought tramadol is obviously not in that ballpark, it is not fun to come off of. So be mindful of this medicine. It was falsely depicted, at first, of having a low addiction and withdrawal potential, but now health professionals, especially ER staff, are beginning to see first hand how bad it can get. Don't get me wrong, tramadol has its benefits, and it definitely helps a great deal with my pain, but there's the other side of it also, that often gets overlooked by doctors and patients alike.

I would assume extremely mild opioid-like withdrawals. Atypical withdrawals can cause seizures! Definitely be cautious of that symptom. Brain zaps are annoying due to SNRI properties ( Got them from Cymbalta withdrawals it was so fucking annoying ). I believe diphenhydramine (Benadryl) can help with the brain zaps... can they? lol. I would recommend a therapeutic dosage of a long acting benzo, especially clonazepam or diazepam. Use higher dosage if you experience insomnia or RLS. Naproxen sodium (Aleve) is my favorite NSAID for OTC pain relief. Use potassium for leg cramps if no benzos.

Excellent post poppyplanet, tramadol withdrawal is certainly not a walk in the park. It's extremely unpleasant to say the least, and with the seemingly exponentially compounded depression and anxiety should not be taken lightly.

I also agree that many risks of tramadol are not taken seriously enough. Especially seizure risks.

Anyway though, I'm gonna close this ancient thread on that note.
