Lortab Elixir CWE?

I searched and believe it or not, theres no thread that actually addresses CWE'ing hydrocodone/APAP elixirs.

I have one that contains 7.5/500 in every 15mL. This puts the acetaminophen solubility at 33mg/mL of the elixir, which is somewhat higher than the normal solubility in water, which leads me to believe that there is a certain percentage of ethanol in the solution to provide additional solubility.

Since you really don't want to end up with concentrated ethanol in your final solution that contains some APAP, I was wondering if anyone has any insight into how/if this can be CWE'd safely and if there are any extra processes that need to be done.

Thin it out a little.
Then do the extraction, it should work

You should be able to get enough that's not dissolved in the alcohol,
to a safe level anyway...
 
Thinning it out some means adding more water, which means more APAP becomes soluble, so more in the final solution. Which isnt ideal. Is it possible to mix in the water and then somehow evaporate off the alcohol so theres just water in the syrup?

You are going to have to heat it to a simmer (not boiling).

Get it to 175*F for about 10 minutes.

That should get rid of most of it.


Then just cold water extract it like normal.

This is kind of an old thread but does this method of CWE really work for the Lortab Elixer? I came across some of this tasty little treat as of recent but obviously the 500mg of APAP per 15ml concerns me.
 
^I never got anything to work for it :(

None of the methods panned out.
 
I was also wondering about plugging it also? Or would the alcohol in it hurt you?
