Cleaning dirty JWH?

So i got my "99.997% pure" JWH-018, and ">99% pure" JWH-073. As promised they are an "off white" and "yellow" powder, respectively.
They smell of napthalene.
That makes me sad - if they're as pure as advertised, that contaminant sure is strongly colored (the color is not even - it's definately not a pure compound that is off white on it's own).

Has anyone tried cleaning up dirty JWH's before? Or does anyone know what the yellow contaminant is?

this assay sounds very dubious, I seems most of these numbers are random numbers plucked out of thin air sometimes partially backed by a dodgy HPLC assay. I doubt any normal assay is good enough, therefore these assays are lies.

chromatography works for the JWH compounds, but is a bit beyond most peoples resources. recrystalisation and washing with almost all normal solvents doesn't work because the yellow stuff is very similar to the product. there is a very efficient way but it requires access to serious chemicals.

the dose is pretty low (if you are sensible) and the stuff is probably mid 90's purity percentage wise so I wouldn't worry about perhaps a few tens of ug of impurities, any more than the risks from the JWH compound itself.

I recall that Hugo's assay of O-Desmethyltramadol was off (95%) against what the seller claimed (>98% or >99% or something). Since it's hard for the layman to actually test any of this, you can probably assume that people are making things up.

Since naphthyl substituted JWH's are possibly carcinogenic anyway, I probably wouldn't worry about it.

Could you perhaps share what this way is?
The identity of this particular yellow contaminant would be nice to know too.

I have access to a reasonable (though not complete) lab, so procedures out of reach of most would be an option for me.

I doubt they are "making it up". The people you bought it off are unlikely to have synthed it themselves. Chances are it came from some producer in Asia. The producer there was probably 'generous' with their purity levels.

But I'm with vecktor. I wouldn't concern yourself.
