Ive had some weed in a jar for about 6 months...

i cured it fresh and its been in airtight jar last 6 months...

I just found the jar and forgot about it

Its a little dry but doesnt seem too bad... it should be able to last a while?

it still smells pretty funky and looks nice just a bit dry

If you jarred it fresh, or wet, it might be moldy.

Mold smells like ammonia usually.

But it should be allright otherwise.

If you want to moisten it up a bit chuck some freshly harvested dope or a bit of bread (or citrus peel if you want the flavour) in the jar and seal it up again for a day or so.

i had a friend who smoked moldy weed. Hes allergic to penicillin and he had an allergic reaction from smoking the moldy weed. so if your allergic to penicillin be careful

^ Nice catch man.

But inspect it very well before lighting up.

Ah, he's probably puffin at it right now actually...

If it was properly dried and ready for a deep cure when you put it in the jar then you should have awesomely cured buds that will taste and smell better and will be more potent. Potency increases with curing.

^How exactly does potency increase with curing? The flavour improves, but the dope doesn't get stronger; if anything, it loses potency as the THC degrades to less active compounds.

Its fine. Pack it and smoke it. I once had a qp I put away and forgot about for quite sometime. When I found it there was mold all over it. Still smoked it.

From experience, THC levels in fresh wet weed are much lower than weed that has been dried and cured. I find this to be true and even more so when it has had a deep cure. Any longer than 6 months curing there will be a drop in THC percentage.

Weed that's still wet will be less concentrated in THC than the same weed cured, but curing weed doesn't magic more THC into it.

Why are you trying to argue to with me Yerg?

As I said wet weed has a low THC content. When you dry and cure that same weed the THC content increases significantly. I don't think of it as magic just science.

The potency only increases because the weed loses water weight. The total THC content doesn't increase.

I'm not contradicting myself at all. The potency, i.e. the proportion of the weight of the weed that is THC, increases because the weight of the weed decreases as it dries. The total THC content doesn't increase at all after harvest. THC is synthesised by the plant. Once the plant is dead, that doesn't happen any more. I really don't care how long you've been growing, I don't want to get into a dicksizing contest.

If it doesn't appear moldy, or smell moldy, you'll be fine bruh. Just grind it up, and roll one, and enjoy!
