God damn! After several days of nothing, I thought this thread was dead. Thanks for the replies everyone.
since it is a microscopic part of a plant cell i don't see how it would have an effect on the amount of THC in hash oil?
explain your reasoning.
Simple. I didn't say it would have an effect on the amount of THC. Other than color change, it would drop the weight, if only slightly, making it slightly more potent. Also, I'm kind of pissed that I failed to achieve one of the primary advantages of using butane rather than isopropyl alcohol. Yes, I used butane (thrice), and got green oil every time.

I guess at this point, I'm more concerned with getting it right next time than removing the green since it isn't exactly ruined.
To be more specific on my extractions:
I used shake from SD, whose buds were/are very potent. Each batch was dried for a week. I'm unsure of the weight, but I used copper pipe 18 by 1.5 inches. I decided to water cure batches two and three before extracting, so there should have been even less chlorophyll. All three came out the same: black to dark green where there's transparency. Batch two was ground to powder. One and three, not quite.
Thanks for the link, seep. Al's thread led me to think that maybe some chlorophyll got under the coffee filter, but butane shouldn't extract any in the first place, so wtf? Dread, that sounds like a nice idea. I might try it when I have some free time. After reading my first post, I would have thought it was iso hash as well as most of you. The fact that it isn't, I find very puzzling.
