I wouldn't mind going if it wasn't $22. It was a lot cheaper down south for some reason.![]()
I work until 8 then at 7:30 am next morning or your ride would be set G.![]()
i lived in bloomington for three years so i know what goes down...but i never thought for one second the dj talent could hold a candle to what indy has.
That's because a vast majority of the kids in Bloomington graduate and move somewhere else, like any college town. Indy isn't a college town. The DJs here in Indy that they can't hold a candle to have been around a long time. Some of them are even twice their age.
Some DJs there manage to pull it off and stick around. Action Jackson and Phenom, for instance, but even they spend a lot of time in Indy. DJs like Ashley Ross, Flufftronix, Colin B, Miles Maeda, ... they all moved on, along with the rest of their class.

Jesus you guys need to get over yourselves and look at the big picture, the only person making sense in this thread is Geek. Here's why Bloomington gets more shows http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/actionjackson131/gtalk.jpg
and btw I live in Indy now and am originally from here
lol, you just dismissed one of the cats holding down dance music in btown and indy, but you'd categorize his taste in dance music as pedestrian too, which is funny bc jackson's linked up w/ scion and iheartcomix.riiiiight...seeya at toys'r'us, kid.
I CARE about what I'm doing. I have almost zero interest in drum and bass or even dubstep for that matter but you know what, I APPRECIATE it. I appreciate anyone trying to push things forward, I appreciate all forms of dance music, and most importantly I appreciate anyone trying to provide a venue for any of that in the city I call home. That's the difference between me and you.
I don't understand this perception that people are skipping over Indianapolis.
Can someone explain this to me, or provide some details on that one?
Because I don't believe it's true. The onus is on the promoters to bring the talent to the city.
We could've had Girl Talk here, if we wanted. We could have many of the names mentioned in this thread.
We have to want them, and assume the risk. That's where we fall short. In both assuming the risk and the WE.
agents ACTIVELY try to get relevant talent into Bloomington. they look for venues and promoters to host shows in Bloomington w/out anyone making an offer to them. they do not bother doing that w/ Indy for relevant dance music acts. Yes, you as a promoter could get talent here by reaching out to an agent and making an offer. However, w/out your initiative, that agent wouldnt have even bothered trying to get the artist booked in Indy as they would have w/ Bloomington.I don't understand this perception that people are skipping over Indianapolis.
