Hey so i just got 100mg of 2c-e in the mail and a good mg scale.

I want to split this bag and put them into capsules, but i dont know how to go about transferring them from the scale surface into a capsule without loosing any of the product in the process.

Anyone got any tips on a good way, using household items, to put this stuff into a capsule?

Thanks

I've used a small pocket knife when making doses of 2C-I. Wipe the knife with some alcohol and make sure its dry before you start using it. I've also used a micro spoon that came attached to the top of one of my amber vials.

Cool, do you put the chem directly on the scale surface, or use some sort of tray or buffer? I'm just worried about residue left behind, sticking to all the things i touch it with...

I usually place a little piece of paper on the scale surface noting how much the paper weighs. Then measure out a dose on the paper. When the proper amount is on the paper, fold the paper one time in the middle (careful not to spill any material). Then the folded paper with material in it works like a funnel for filling up a capsule. Of course a little bit sticks to the paper, but I doubt its much more than 1 mg. I never use materials requiring so small quantities that it matters. Works fine with 2C-E.

Use the gelcap as the weigh boat!

Weigh the gelcap, note the weight. Add powder, put the cap back on the scale surface, weigh it and subtract the weight of the capsule that you noted.

use folded paper. things usually don't stick to paper. it works fine with methylone and is more or less standard procedure for many chemicals in our lab.

also, many health food stores have scoop type devices for putting vitamins, supplements etc into capsules. I've got one, its stainless steel and looks kind of like the blade of a butter knife that's been bent into a parabola shape. I'm sure there's a term for this device, but it escapes me at the moment. Costs about $2

Get some of those flimsy plastic weigh boats you can find in most labs. They usually fold very easily on the corners making it easy to pour powders accurately.

I used to use a little piece of paper as a weigh boat and then run it down the crease into the cap, but seriously;

Why wouldn't you guys just use the gelcap as the weigh boat itself?

You don't have to worry about residue on the paper or losing any when transferring it.

I think it takes too long pouring material back and forth in the gelcap to find the desired amount. Im too eager eating a dose to wait that long =D

Maybe if I had a proper lab "spatel" instead of using a knife/teaspoon all the time things would be different hehe.

COUNT SCOOPULA!!!
thanks fiend! that brings me back to 8th grade chem.

So far, I think the best idea is to use a plastic weigh boat, they're non-stick, and the chem residue will be much easier to spot on a colored plastic surface, rather than white paper, which, on the microscopic level, is very rough and has many ridges (for residue to get left behind on/in).

other than encapsulating,
anyone ever tried any other weird/kooky method?
I was thinking about stuffing a dose inside of a raisin or dried cherry, just for the hell of it.
Ooooooo! or you could drill a hole in a lollipop, and dump it in =D

I've got an encapsulation kit, you just have a grid of 24 capsules laying open then fill them at the same time, then you take the grid of closer-caps and put the thing together...

I use this for supplements / nootropics that are generally in the range of 500 mg per dose but with drugs if its lower you would need to mix the drug with a filler. This is where it gets tricky! Because if you don't mix right you get chunks of drugs which is the opposite of homogeneity...

Mixers or blenders help with this sort of thing but remember that the bigger the difference in proportion of drug to filler the longer it takes and harder it is to make it uniform.

You really don't want too much fluctuations with psychedelic drugs its just too sensitive dosing!!!!!!

Yeah be careful with drugs that require a low dose and trying to cut with a filler. really hard to get mixed properly. A friend of mine bought xanax caps one time that were suppose to be 2 mgs which had alot more than that in it. Some caps had barely any xanax in it and other had visible chunks.

This is really only a practical method if you have access to a ball mill and grind both powders together. Otherwise you are certain to get unacceptable levels of variation due to the differing particle sizes.

Exactly. That was kind of my point, to be honest I have never attempted something like that.

If we look at the first post, its mentioned there is only 100 mg. That is miles and miles from bulk of course.

If you have a steady hand / good motor movement then you can just use weighing papers with a fold, like the so-called Pony Pak (it is a type of non-sticky paper)... just weigh it on that then because the paper was folded diagonally you can kind of stick the point into the capsule and let all the powder slide in.
With a steady hand you would only lose a minimal amount, I wouldn't know of a better method.
